Auto flowers were all germinated directly in soil which they will stay in through the entire grow, they will not be transplanted and likely kept rather small. The photo-periods were all germinated in water cups until taproots were visible, which I then planted directly into rapid rooter cubes. Once roots started extending out of the rapid rooters I transplanted them into small clear cups until the roots fill out. Once the roots have filled the cup out I'll be transplanting 1 further time into 5 gallon fabric pots. The Tropicana Poison F1 has 3 cotyledons indicating it has the trifoliar genetic abnormality. It's first set of leaves are forming and there is some abnormality going on, just too soon to tell if the branches will grow in a trifoil or not.

The 3 seeds of Lemon Haze auto's by seedsman ended up failing. 2 of which failed to germinate at all in the substrate, and the last unfortunately sprouted but ended up damping off, so I removed the pots and we're down to the 5 photoperiods and 4 autos. Really the main point of this grow though is the photoperiods, the autos I'm just throwing in for extra flower in the end since flipping to flower will stunt the auto growth a bit from less light time. I will be transplanting the Photoperiods into 3 gallon fabric pots soon. The medium will be ProMix HP, with Dynomyco supplemented around the transplant hole. Up until now, my tent conditions were not great. I was maintaining 80F, with 30% RH skyrocketing my VPD above 2 - it was not a good time for these ladies. I got another humidifier in the tent now, along with an evaporative cooler on the way from Amazon to help maintain better tent conditions. I will be topping the photo's soon just after the 4th node as well. Nutes by Ventana Plant Science https://ventanaplant.science/program%2Fmsds

Transplanted the photoperiods into 3 gallon pots where they'll stay until harvest. They were also topped above the 4th node and are all recovering well. Tent conditions are finally under control, I needed to add a 2nd humidifier and an evaporative cooler to keep the tent anywhere below 81F. A few plants are showing some signs of nutrient deficiency but I'm waiting to see how they respond to the next few feedings before adjusting anything. For this grow I'm mainly focusing on the photoperiods as I'm hoping they'll yield well - the autoflowers are thrown in here for the extra buds but they're not really my priority. I've also really enjoyed using the VPS line of nutrients. Currently I'm planning to flip the photos to flower after week 4 of veg, but it depends on the size of them. The Strawberry Lemonade for example is turning out to be a rather tall plant compared to her sisters and I don't want to be hitting the lights. This is only my 2nd grow ever, my first of which was 5 White Widow Auto plants, so this is a hug learning experience for me and my first time going photoperiods.

This week was a busy one for the girls. I decided from here on out my journal will focus just on the 5 photoperiods as the 4 auto-flowers aren't doing so well in their recycled soil pots, but it's been a good learning experience. At the start of the week I topped the plants down to the 3rd node to start mainlining. Realistically this was a decision I made a bit late because last week I topped the plants without the intention of mainlining. All of them responded to it well though and have since rebound in growth. Currently they're all growing out the 3rd node on each side, so I'm going to let them stretch out for the day and top them all above the 3rd node to split my 2 mains into 4 mains. This is only my 2nd grow, and my first time trying the mainline technique so I'm excited to see how the grow goes.

This week was a busy one. The girls got topped again so they all produce 8 main colas. Due to Red Hot Cookies being damaged and losing half the plant, I might top her again to get at least 8 colas going on her - what do you think? Currently all the tops are being trained, I don't want to be too rough as I'm afraid of breaking another stem, so they they aren't bent around that much. Strawberry Lemonade is also turning into quite a mutant in that it's sending out 3 tops per node instead of the usual 2. This plant had 3 cotyledons when it sprouted so I knew it had some genetic mutation, but I was expecting a trefoiled growth and not an additional tip poking out each node. Thinking about flipping these girls into flower tomorrow to start week 1.

Extra node growing out or just an extra fan leaf? This is happening on both sides of the plant, mirrored, at every node. Anyone seen this before? Seed popped with 3 cotyledons but then grew out normally from there until it started popping (what kinda look like) extra growth tips?

Hey there Spunwuky, congrats growmie you have a polyploid plant meaning a plant with three sets of chromosomes instead of two, so that's what you're seeing, it's kinda rare, doesnt really change much except the size of the flowers (for the better!) . Hope this helps ! 🚀

Late journal update, I know! My bad, busy weekend. Nothing too exciting this week, flipped the girls into flower but the first week it's no surprise to see nothing. I don't usually "count" the first week of flower but for journal tracking purposes I will be. I also gave them some instant compost tea for soil microbe support. Started giving them SuperThrive on the recommendation of a growmie last week as well. I snapped a branch on the Tropicana Poison, luckily I saved it and the tops above it. I fan leaves didn't recover but the new growth retained moisture and looks great 2 days later, so at the least I saved the two cola's. The polyploid plant is doing great. I mainlined her for 8 tops but she's growing out 3 main branches on each side, 2 of which on each side were topped. The extra branches came late so I might not top those two. They all look healthy though, no big signs of nutrient deficiencies as far as I can tell so I'm loving the nutrient line by Ventana Plant Science (VPS). Bottom fan leaves on some of the girls are almost bigger than my head!

Flipped my plants into flower last week. I have a polyploid plant that I expected to grow odd flowers, but this is my 2nd grow ever and I'm starting to think it herm'd on me, or is a male despite being from feminized seeds. What do you think? Should I wait or remove it?

Those are male parts yes sir Common spot for them to pop up. Personally I’d yank those off and keep a good eye out the next week or two. Most the time you’ll be good.. if more pop up I’d consider axing it. Now, if there’s more than 3-4 sacs and they’re at higher up nodes it could be male or just displaying serious intersex traits and I’d kill it immediately if that’s the case now. Are there any signs of female stigmas?

This week was interesting. I found out the tetraploid plant is either a hermie, or male. It's from feminized seed but it's popping male sex parts. Currently I'm checking the plant daily and plucking the balls off as they grow. My hope is it'll grow female flowers but I'm prepared to cull it if I need to. Unfortunately no signs of any pistils but I've read instances of hermies having only female flowers with male sex parts so I'm giving it a little time to see where it goes. I may look into getting a small 2x2 tent to throw it into for the hell of it just to see how it flowers. I figure it could double as an early veg tent and for drying. The rest of the plants are all looking healthy (Aside but the sad autoflowers on the side, but I'm 90% sure those are suffering due to poor recycled soil quality). I defoliated them all a bit throughout the week, mostly leaves that were covered and not receiving much light. Humidity at night is going higher than I would like it to, but I have a lot of airflow in the tent so I'm not too worried about 65-68%. I do want to bring it down if I can though. Basically at the half way mark with these girls, I'm excited to see them start showing there phenos. I'm really hoping to have some red/purple phenos, especially from the Sweet Seeds strains. I think next grow I'm gonna go with less plants and larger pots.

Okay so this week I ordered a new 2x4 tent to house the hermie plant and the 3 small autos I'm growing out on the side - I don't care much if they're seeded. The plant is doing well though and I'm glad I didn't kill it, seems to be showing mostly female traits now including female flowers. I did spray the plant with Optic Foliar Switch at the start of the week in hopes it would kickstart some of those fem hormones. Plants all looks super healthy though. Some minor burnt tips here and there but nothing of too much concern. Leaves are all green and healthy, stalks are thick and supportive. Been feeding every other watering + doing an instant compost tea weekly. They've also been scrogged since, I'll be continuing to tuck branches as they stretch. Very excited about this grow and can't wait to harvest - I've learned a lot and think next grow will be a lot of fun too. This is my first time growing out photoperiods and I'm really enjoying it. Autoflowers are easy but I love the level of control that it feels like you have over photoperiods and how you grow them out.

Pretty easy week. They're needing to be watered almost daily, so I've started giving my main nutrients every other feeding, with the in between feedings being mostly just blue planet liqued seaweed, molasses, some cal-mag, and a weekly compost tea. Found a few male flowers from the mimosa x orange punch too - only 2 and haven't seen any since. Regardless I probably won't buy Barney's Farms seeds again.

Busy week with IRL friends visiting but overall it wasn't too bad taking care of the girls. I've been alternating feeds with my main VPS nutrients, then another mix that contains everything listed other than the VPS nutes. 3 of the girls started showing some cal-mag deficiency which is why I added cal-mag plus to my off-feeding regimen. I am loving this VPS line though, FlaVUH is killing it! Red Hot Cookies - This plant is really starting to fatten up, the colas are getting extremely thick. I wonder if it has to do with half of the plant being removed earlier in the growth cycle. Flower Week 8-9 harvest. Tropicanna Poison - Excited for this one, very dense beds and beautiful color. Should be ready for chop come end of next week - she's a FAST one! I'm totally sold on Sweet Seeds F1 Fast Version seeds - Sweet Seeds in general seems to have great genetics, both plants are very healthy and vigorous. She will be in her harvest window in 7 days from today. Blue Dream - Getting tall as heck. I learned a lesson here though about mixing strains and aiming to find ones around the same flowering time, this girl is gonna be a 9-10 weeker. Mimosa X Orange Punch - Haven't found anymore male flowers. She's getting thick as well, smells amazing. Flower Week 8 harvest. Strawberry Lemonade - Tetraploid hermie is doing well, exceptionally frosty and has stopped showing intersex traits. Not sure of it was the Optic Foliar Switch that did it or if I got lucky but I'm glad I didn't toss the plant. Looking like flower Week 9 harvest. If you notice with the hermie there's a set of 3 5 gallon pots that I'm conditioning and cover cropping ahead of time with perennial white dutch clover. My plan is mostly to use them for soil conditioning and moisture retention on my next grow which will feature Pineapple Poison by Super Sativa Seed Club as part of their photo contest.

Greetings! This week has been easy. Lucky, the mainline method makes flower phase mostly hands off since the plants have been stripped so much and shaped already. Harvested the Tropicanna Poison this week - ended up coming down on day 40 - slightly early but she grew vigorously and fast, and the trichome's were telling me it was time. I will post the harvest report once I get dry weight. As for the other plants in the tent: Blue Dream: Still stretching a bit, but now she's starting to fatten up. She will be big for a 3 gallon plant. RHC: THICK buds - I talking like baseball size. Strawberry Lemonade - Incredibly frosty. Mimosa x Orange Punch - Supposed to have almost 2 more weeks of flower but she is ripening fast it seems, I may bring her down next week. She has a few seeds in her buds, I only seen 2-3 so far. Those are from her own pollen because she produced 2 random male flowers midway through flower which were picked off. Judging from her terp profile though, I'll probably grow the seeds out one day for fun to see what I get.

Cut down 2 days early from day 42 which was probably a mistake but I'm pretty new to growing and still l;earning. The trichromes looked ready but after drying I can tell the plant probably could have put on some more weight, but still a great grow overall.

Another easy week, not much to report. Just fed on schedule and made sure parameters were dialed. Mimosa X Orange Punch is probably coming down this coming week, she is looking close. I may leave RHC for an extra week depending how the trichromes look. Buds are fat but theres still a lot of clear.

The grow wasn't too hard. She did pop a few male flowers mid flower and I have confirmed that there are a number of seeds in the flower, but hopefully not too many. She smells like orange candy, can't wait to give her a smoke after drying and curing. The plant itself is very beautiful and has a lovely fade to dark purple as she gets later in flower. Very frosty plant though.

Wasn't too bad, glad I didn't chop her cause she hermied early but seemed to focus on female flower production which was lucky. Plant def. started not looking great towards the end but that's pretty normal for end of life

Cut her down a few days early cause I needed the tent space to be honest. She smells like gas and I'm not a huge fan of gassy varieties, but we'll see!
