This was a clone I had straggling behind my 1st batch. I accidentally cut it off defoliating and decided to save it. I cant remember what kind of experimenting I did with it but I know I barely gave it any attention and thought it was gonna die several times. I was kinda tired of dealing with my 1st batch of clones which I re-homed after taking FOREVER to root due to unseasonably cold weather.
Got my nutrient solutions mixed up or went overboard on nitrogen with all the littles and my veggies so that set me back a bit. Eventually flushed everything after several weeks of slow growth and issues. Wasnt paying much attention to anything going on in this tent other than trying to keep it alive. Too focused on my tent in flower.
Got lazy and fed too much. Needed to water, I had nutrient solution already mixed and didnt have ph'd w water....started to get claws so I flushed til I got about 50% run off then only gave water next couple rounds. Back to light feeding again.
Had to redo my Lst with better tape. Plant is getting huge and hard to control but I'm really happy with the layout of the branches compared to my 1st grow. Hoping for a much denser yield. Need to flower asap but waiting for clones to pop roots and my original 2 plants to vacate what will be my new veg tent. Then I can begin working out the kinks in my rotation.
7/23/18 1st long night starts in a couple hours. I'm excited to see if I can get some bigger buds this time.
7/29 did a bunch of work this weekend. McSuperglue has all the info. I'm not rewriting it. Excited for flowering to start and feeling pretty good this time around.
7/30 day 8 of 12/12 hoping to see some action any day now.
7/31 defoliated again and fed. Upped nutes a bit by adding bloom boosters and flower nutes
8/2 getting put to shame by the superglue at the moment. Maybe its the monster cropping...maybe it was the defoliating....maybe both. Or neither. Edibles are neat.
8/6 day 15 of 12/12. I think the groups of hairs started a week ago today so does that technically make this day 8 of flower? I'm still unclear about a lot of stuff lol.
8/8 defoliated and moved lights up a bit. Thought I saw a touch of light burn on tios of top leaves. Looks like 17inches is minimum when lights are on full blast. Also I'm gonna do an experiment with defoliating. The pics with (H) are a section I'm gonna defoliate heavier than the rest and the section with (L) is the section I'm going to defoliate lighter. Trying to get a better feel for exactly how the plant responds. Fed today with slightly higher ph to try to correct the drop I had last watering.
8/9 think I might be watering daily the rest of the way.
8/12 well I have to say it was a pretty damn good week. I feel like these buds are considerably bigger than my last batch at the end of week 2. 3 gal pots are kinda a pain in the ass for watering.
8/19 last day of week 3. Buds appear to be gaining a little mass and trichomes are starting to show as well. Hoping I didnt make the same mistake as last time and I get more substantial buds. Feeling pretty good though. Curious to see how my new set up effects my yield this time.
8/16 ive had no luck bringing the ph up from where it is so my conclusion is that I must be over feeding bloom booster cuz it is very acidic. I was afraid this was gonna happen. I may have learned too much to feed both plants the same anymore. Yay more work!!!!! Or I could be full of shit and just suck at stuff I try to do....haha
8/14 Looking like I will have more buds than last time and bigger 1s too hopefully. Not a bunch of long branches with 3 buds at the end like the 1st spk.
8/20 The stretch should be about over I think. Still cant get my ph to come up. Gonna alternate light feeding then water every other day. Maybe use flora kleen next watering to assist in clearing out whatever is so acidic.
8/25 flushing with flora kleen. Got a tds meter and my runoff was 1500ppm. I suspected that was the culprit of the ph scandal.
8/27 got my ph back up where I wanted it and my ppm of runoff down by almost half to 820. Need to do more research but I feel like that has to be tolerable and I can stop panicking lol. Buds are filling out now and in getting excited!
9/2 think I gotthings back on track with ph and ppm. Main buds are already way bigger than any i got from my 1st grow. Defoliated a bit this week and feel pretty good about it. I think I'm starting to understand how things are working now that I'm on my 2nd time around.👍
Down to the last 2-3 weeks I think. Time to start the trichome watch. Hopefully I will be better able to judge where they are at. Last time I didnt see any amber but they all looked cloudy so i harvested to avoid complications from flushing too early. I think the 1s i took today look about 2/3 cloudy 1/3 clear....would you agree?
Should be down to final 2 weeks roughly. Going to start my final flush this week. Hoping I can eradicate my spider mite problem before this 1 gets em too.
Cant wait for this grow to be over so I can exterminate some mites. Just trying to keep them off this 1. Superglue is a lost cause. Just trying to buy time and keep the sour patch safe so I have 1 good plant to harvest.
9/20 hopefully if u zoomed in on the pics u saw what I saw and agreed that the time had come. This plant went from the slow developing runt of its clone litter to an absolute stuff. When I got the glue outta there and lifted the net it was able to spread and show it's true form. I'm very proud of this 1 👌. When I decided to start growing early this year this is the kinda shit I wanted to learn how to do! I feel like I lost my grow virginity on this 1 and couldn't have given it to a better plant. It was a magical night! Other than the fact I was tired and frustrated and everything was annoying the hell out of me while converting my grow tent to a drying tent. Cant wait to get down to 2 tents and 4 plants like my original plan. 3 tents and 8 plants + 1 hobo plant camping in my yard is a bit much for a beginner with a fulltime job and a son that's a senior in high school (they are not the cleanest, most organized people and are also gone a lot=dad gets to do more housework 😡)
Havent smoked much but want to wrap this up. Last night I was exhausted when I tried the finished product the 1st time and I fell asleep almost immediately. It tasted pretty good but I cant recall anything specific other than thinking "thats not too bad: 1:" . I have a hard time identifying the subtle flavors so i do my best on here but good or bad is mostly all I can really judge. It was alright...nothing I would brag about but nothing offensive either. There was a nice little something after I exhaled. Smooth but has that burn in your lungs kick that will get somebody blowing snot bubbles if they underestimate it. I have always thought that was an indication that u had yourself some bomb ass shit right there. I smoked a little but before this and I feel clear headed and relaxed but not in a sleepy way. Just enjoying laying on my bed in a quiet house feeling content. I damn near wanna get up do something but not quite bad enough just yet. I had a long exhausting day so I think this must be a good daytime batch or else my phone would probably be dropped on or by me with a partial word typed and I'd be out cold with the lights on lol. I tried to harvest it at peak thc and wanted a high I could function and be productive with if necessary but would also mellow out my usually over active mind enough to where I could just chill and do nothing without stressing over things I need/want/should/could/am considering/cant do lol. I got what I wanted👌
Well once again the spk was the 1 that gave me no problems. When the superglue was battling mites and getting its ass kicked the spk was right next to it, even touching it in a couple spots and never appeared to have a single mite. It was happy with light feeding, normal feeding, possibly even some slight overfeeding. It just does its thing. It's always the 1st to root when I'm cloning, I currently have 3 strains and have harvest each 1x and the spk 2x. I'd say its sorta like if I had 3 kids the spk woukd be the 1 i never had trouble with and was just all around solid. Never have to worry about it doing anything dumb or getting into trouble. Good grades, athletic, nice looking, well mannered....solid ass dude lol. I got much better buds this time and actually got 21g of small lighter buds I didnt add into the total cuz I wanna be like the big kids and wear big boy pants. No more spiderman undies cuz I'm gonna be this many ☝️☝️☝️harvests in late november early December!
*total yield was 230g with the superglue that was also in the tent. I feel like my g/watt stats are getting screwed from not growing the same strain together.
That’s awesome!!! I was the very same way when I first started growing. I did so much reading and learned so many techniques that I was itching to try out. This round i manifolded my 3 out of the 4 plants in my garden, and completely hacked the 4th plant by breaking off one of the main arms while doing the manifold on 2 separate occasions. That 1 plant is the Mandarin Haze which I have journals for, and the only strain I have cloned for next round because of how wonderful she was looking at 4 weeks of flower when I took my clones. I figured that running all 4 buckets with the same strain will allow me to dial it in a little better because with my current setup I have 4 plants, 3 different strains each with their own nutrient requirements, and it seems like every time I do a mixed strain grow, there is always one strain that does not perform to its max because the nute profile is slightly off...
@MagicMikesMeds, awesome thank u! I'd love to have a set up like you're planning. I have a 2×4×5 tent which is all I really have room for in my walk in closet and originally my plan was to just stick with that and grow 1...maybe 2 plants for shits n giggles. So I got the cheapest set up I could put together decently based on hours of researching. Then as I went I kept getting more into it and learning more and wanting to do it better and spent way more $ than I had ever even considered until I put together a legit set up like I shouldve done in the 1st place.
Now I have the 2x4x5 I just finished harvesting tonight which will be my veg tent. A 4x4 with 2 200w cree CXB3590X2's and a 6" 395 CFL inline fan and filter, for flower. Then I have an old 4x4 I got from a buddy that's in my dining room I'm using for drying right now. It leaks light all over the place but would be great for a mother tent but until next year I'd like to keep everything in my bedroom. I have a son that's going to graduate high school this year so I have to keep pad locks on everything to stay in accordance with the law and I'd rather not have him afraid to bring friends over cuz I turned the house into a tented jungle lol.
I'll definitely try the week 4 strategy and see how it goes. When u say day 28 of flower do u mean after going to 12/12 or after they actually begin flowering? I misunderstood that on my 1st grow with the breeder timelines and started flushing like 3 weeks early. Might've been able to get an even bigger yield had I known.
The pH of the media drops down when nutrients has built up into salt . It happens usually when you over feed your plants by giving them nutrients too often by feeding them each times you water them or every other watering !
Follow a Feed Water Water Feed Water Water Feed W W F ... schedule and check the ppm's from the drain of the second watering to see if it needs to be fed or just water for the next round !
@JUNGLE_B4RNS, I've been sticking to your advice and havent been having that problem anymore. I was having some deficiencies focusing too much on lowering run off ppm and not giving enough but I think I got the hang of it now. Thanks again!
@JUNGLE_B4RNS, thanks I'll give that a try. I also was told some additives like carbohydrates can throw off the ppm and make it high but they don't cause any harm. I was just going off the bottle's recommended feedings and keeping it light in comparison. Thanks for the advice! Less nutes to mix up too 👍
Trying to get her ready for flower and avoid the crowded mess I had with the 1st 1. Been keeping up on defoliating so it's just routine for her now. Havent noticed any slowing of growth after.
@CRiSPrGrow, the 8th wonder of the world will be fine. No signs in there. It's my other 2 tents and only 2 of 6 total. Not too worried about the 1s in veg cuz I can fight dirtier. Found the source and blasted those bitches with some real insect killer earlier. I'm only concerned about my flower tent but I hit them real hard in the mouth to start it off so I think I got em on the ropes. Just gotta keep bombing on em til I beat em so bad their great grandchildren only exist hypothetically lol
@Mrs_Larimar, that will be amazing, I hope it happens soon! I'm lucky to live in a legal state or I would still be wishing I could grow 1 plant just for fun. We live in a small duplex so 3 tents takes up all the extra space and I have my garage full of my moms stuff so In constantly feeling crowded. More space would be a dream come true haha
@Beans, oumaaan such a great Plant. and yes I agree. the only thing that is better than having Space -is having more Space....Iam draming of my cellar ready for 3-4 rooms with different light. and space to dry. But i wont do it before its legal in our country. Keep us updated after curing.

@Aldanil, sorry I've been locked in battle with spider mites for the last week. I think I can see the difference now that some are actually cloudy. Had a hard time telling the difference between light reflection and trichome color.
@Aldanil, I've been taking pics with my phone and zooming in. Got some I need to post. I dont think im there quite yet. I'm almost through week 7 I think and 8-9 is probably where it'll be according to breeder timeline. Think I'm beginning to get an eye for trichome ripeness but I'm still hoping the timeline will get me close enough that even if I still cant really tell if its ready, it will be ready. I'm shooting for all cloudy with just a hint of amber. My 1st batch was maybe a tad too early cuz I saw no amber at all. Or I did and didnt know it lol
@OutForReal,👊thanks man! I'm happy with the outcome. It was right about what I thought would be a reasonable expectation if I had a solid grow. 4oz of respectable bud and 21g of trimmed little pieces that shouldve tried a little harder if they didnt want to become butter....cuz its gonna happen lol
@Mrs_Larimar, thank you! Check out dark heart nursery's website cuz I think this strain is different than traditional sour patch kids. I wanna try breeding my own strains someday. Im just beginning though. Like they say "Gotta crawl before u walk" and there is always the possibility u might have to walk somewhere to breed so I dont recommend skipping that step. Lol

chopsticks on a thrip like karate kid get yourself some sticky tape that traps flyier - up it in front of your intake and a few others by the roots and at various heights in the set up... chilllllll.... gonna be a ok !
