noticed slight yellowing on outer edges of leaves on day 6 of week 2. diagnosed nitrogen deficiency, because no nutrients exist in substrate and I was being overly careful with nitrogen feeding since this if my first auto grow. doubled N100 dosage starting in week 3 to remedy

How do I know when to harvest with the addition of the fox tails? I'm unsure if now is a good time to harvest or if I should wait some time for the fox tails.

You don't need to wait until it starts to foxtail. Usually that's a sign that it's cooking too long. How you tell is by the pitils and trichomes. 90% cloudy is fine to start the flush on and the rest will cloud up come harvest. But really all comes down to how you like your bud? If its more sativa then harvest with 80% cloudy or if you like me and love an owl couch lock close to full cloudiness when coming near the flush/harvest. You want 10-30% Amber pistils. (Hairs). And want them all curling back into the bud. Looking at your is a bit hard to tell. It looks done, but you got a few white hairs. Throw or cut feed and get ready to flush and bring her to harvest. Good luck pal

Amazing work you have done for your first crop!. Would you be alright with me offering some pointers based off what I see in your diary? First off, Cannabis plants LOVE heat and humidity, It is the buds that hate it. Early on in veg we can capitalize on this for more vigorous healthy growth. We can look for temps up to 79-84 MAX with lights on & no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. We do not want too big of a swing in temperature between lights on and lights off or we will encourage our plants to stretch more than we want them to. Also we can utilize humidity at this stage up to 75% in our rooms to really help maximize the plants growth. When our plants are small, Our roots are small. Cold temps will really stunt their development, especially during the night cycle as this is when plants do most of their growth. They will photosynthesize with lights on store up energy & when they go to sleep do most of their growth. I recommend looking into vapor pressure deficit, Otherwise known as VPD. It will give you a much better understanding of how important temperature and humidity play a role in our plant development. Humidity is great early on to supplement our smaller plants root structures with some foliar intake from the leafs. But when we add in humidity we must do it right to make sure we are optimizing our VPD point. Please read this article and get used to using the chart that it has as well. Log your numbers daily! https://cerescann.com/importance-of-measuring-vpd/ Next, I would get yourself a thermal laser temp gun like the fluke 64 MAX & a PAR meter to better read your plant's needs and grow to them. This equipment will also help us optimize our light to plant distances. Also get yourself some sungrip light pulleys if you do not have them yet to raise & lower the light as needed. Now lets talk about flowering. So after day 20 of flower the plant stops its vertical growth and now focus's 100% of its energy into budding. Before this point, We want our temperature gaps nice and close between lights on and off or the plant will stretch, But now the signal and response to stress has changed since it has finished its mission of growing up tall. Now we want to expose the plant to large temperature swings beyond 10 degrees less with lights off because now it will send energy into making bigger denser buds & producing more resin. This is all part of simulating the end of the season and activating the genetic signals within the plant to respond in kind. When we do the pull down, We never want to trim the plant wet or break it down at all. We want to hang it hole in a environment set to 45-50 degrees at 60% humidity for up to 16 days. This allows the plant to break down any potential left over starches or sugars or nutrients within it during this time the plant will produce even more resin & terpenes, This is where you get the true craft cannabis finish. If you have any questions please feel free to follow my profile & hit me up anytime! We are currently producing a tutorial series to teach everybody to grow high quality craft cannabis the grow diary for it is live right now on my profile & also the video series of it is live on my youtube, If that interests you head over and subscribe! It is linked off my GrowDiaries main profile. Happy growing my friend!

@CaktusJacksCannabisCo, I agree ! I do my best to help all new growers gain this basic knowledge as I feel it is a very fail-safe place to start out, But it is not just meant for beginners this information is useful to anybody who wants to learn and apply it. I am just trying to spread that information and make it more accessible, Which is the point of our tutorial diaries and youtube videos :)

@Sweet_Seeds, hey guys! I finished the grow. I fucked up everything imaginable and it still yielded well. If you are looking for a poster child for resilience, my grow diary is a good place to start ๐Ÿ˜‚ In a few months I will be doing round #2 with everything I learned and the same seed. We'll see how it goes! Thanks for the awesome product.

@cornbreadsquirrel, So now that you got her chopped, Keep her hanging like that until all branches snap clean, EXCEPT the big main stalk right under the main cola, It should make a snap sound when you bend it to break, But it should not cleanly break off yet. IF you can keep it at 55-60F to make it go slower, It helps. I even drop mine down to 50F. THIS is when the plant is ready to come out of the slow dry. Since you are only drying 1 plant, You do not want a fan in there or any dehu forcing the moisture out, The longer we allow it to take the better the end product will be. Once it is finished drying that is when you want to take it out and trim it up. Since we used to do this with over 300LBS of weed at a time we would use big freezer bags instead of glass jars & I actually found that it gave a better flavor than jars. So once the dry is finished & you have trimmed it, Put it in either bags or jars and only burp it once a day for a hour or so each day for the first week. After that first week you don't want to be burping it only open it up when you take weed out to smoke. After that second week you will be close to max potential.

@cornbreadsquirrel, Thats the attitude my friend. Growing and improving and learning is something we all want to get better at, Not just in our greenhouses, or grow rooms or tents, But in life in general. They are good traits to take outside of your grow and with you into the real world :) Your colors are beautiful and the cake is there. A few environmental tweaks as you said and changes to how the plant was raised and you will be miles ahead of this one. Each grow is an opportunity to learn and log data and go into the next one even better prepared. I hope you would take a look at our tutorial series diary and also our youtube channel tutorial series videos that go along with it. I feel it could really be of a help to you ! Our youtube, Is linked off of my main grow diaries profile. I look forward to seeing you over there and hearing your feedback ! Episode 8 will be out very soon you got time to subscribe and catch up. One thing id recommend is get a diary and log your data from each crop. If you can get into the habit of this it really helps.

@LegacyMarketFarm, Thanks for your positivity! These nugs don't exactly look beautiful, but I think they'll do the job they were intended to ๐Ÿ˜œ I think with a bit more reading and a few changes to my environment my next grow will be much better.

How's the light? I haven't been able to get anything like that in viparspectra best I can get my hands on is an XS2000. But I can already tell there's a big difference in bud quality. If you look at my banana purple punch I have 1 under a p1000 and the other spent most of its life under a sf1000 and the quality of the bud is crazy. The SF1000 is better for vegging though but for flowering the more real white bright light is tops for flowering.

@gottagrowsometime, Thanks for the question! Honestly I can't tell you man, it's the only light I've ever owned. I've got a tiny 40x40x120 space with decent airflow that I'm currently growing in and it keeps it quite hot. I'll need to make some changes to my setup and shift my schedule to accommodate the pure heat this dude produces, but overall I am very happy with the bud size and quality I get out of it. I have completed only one one grow previously, which was 2 photos in a 80x120x220 space with this light; I had quite large buds of very high quality for my first time and there was no legginess or issues with light penetration in the canopy. The grow went much better than the one you're seeing above (barring the 2 I lost to spider mites). How much of that was up to space, type, nutrient schedule, light, man I can't tell you honestly... everything about my environment changed between grows except the light haha
