Black Gold - bag seed

Hey hi how's it growing? Day 47 from seed week 7 This bag seed is showing some promise! I'm actually really REALLY hoping I get lucky and it turns out to be a feminized seed 😁😁😁 so far the growth structure is beautiful. I love how large the fan leaves are (9 fingers) they're a deep green with a slight purplish hue under the light. So far I've topped, Defoliated, and attempted to start main-lining by tying down the 4 main branches to open them up to light and air flow. I'm digging the canopy so far 🙏🏾😎. Hydro Lid training: To tie them down in hydro buckets I simply drilled (2) 7/64" holes in the lid, fed a pipe cleaner thru the holes (dollar store or walmart pack for like $1-3), and tie down the branch you want. Repeat for however many tie downs you need. I chose 7/64" drill bit since it was small but large enough to pass a pipe cleaner thru as to avoid light leaking into the bucket. I call them pipe cleaners but the package actually says "chenille stems" can easily find them in the arts n crafts section of stores. Anywho that was a whole bunch of info that I hope someone finds helpful lol I try to include as much info as I can in these diaries so long as I think it'll help someone haha lord knows I wish I had the same info when I was researching answers. Most of the times I just experiment and take note of my findings. Hopefully this platform allows me to share and that my experiments help someone else in their grow 🙏🏾😎 Wish Me luck with this plant, I really hope it's female. Hey hi how's it growing everyone?! Day 55 from seed... I don't quite have the eye for determining the sex yet so idk what we have at the moment but it does look more and more like feminized plants I've grown in the past. The nodes and growth all look fairly similar to me so we shall see. I took a close up incase someone can tell at this point in veg. What's up everyone how's it growing?! Day 63 (from seed) and this plant is bushing out! She's guzzling up water fast so I increased from 2.5 gal to 3 since I'll be busy all week, that should last an extra day or so to top up the reservoir before she's completely dry. Growth structure: THIIICCCCCKKK (DUMMY THICK) branches thicken up quickly and produces a ton of budsites. As I mentioned before, she's a real bushy plant so defoliating is a must. Her leaves are huge with 10 fingers, and the larger leaves are bigger than my face 😁!! Plans: The other plants haven't caught up in size yet but it's getting too big to wait for the rest. So yesterday, I topped the reservoir with bloom nutrients, I preset my light timer to 12/12 and when the lights went out I turned off the light switch to give her 24hr of darkness - in reality it'll be longer than 24hr since the lights come back on at 7am tomorrow lol but anywho that's my plan. I'm sending the whole tent into flower. That means my newer seedlings will be considered 12/12 from seed and that'll be interesting to watch and learn from. Hey hi how's it growin?! Today is Day 71 from seed (start of week 11) Let's recap... She's putting out more pistols the last few days since flipping the light schedule last week. She had a ton of foliage that were blocking budsite so I gave her a hair cut this week. As you can see from the pics, between the previous entry and today's, she puts out a lot of leaves! So I gotta manage that well for air circulation... Her root mass is getting huge in the bucket and that air stone is starting to suffocate. Hey hi how's it growin? Day 88 week 4 flower I went on vacation last week and everything was fine until we got home over the weekend... So first thing I noticed was the temps had gone up WAAAAAYYYYYY higher than I expected it too. Then I noticed that the bucket was completely empty... I mean DRY DRY bucko!! So I'm thinking, "oh shit I done killed her I didn't leave enough water in the res" blah blah blah panic mode... I immediately got the hose and refilled the bucket with nutrients per usual plus a bit of recharge... well that did nothing it only seemed to get worse and worse each day. So I checked the bucket and surely enough it's foaming like crazy and I'm thinking maybe my roots are suffocating 🤔 I then decided to work on her the next day and give her a mid flower flush before attempting to revive her with some maxibloom (nitrogen ratio is higher than the pure blend pro bloom I've been using) I thought it might be the N boost she needed based on the yellowing and drying leaves... I dropped the ppm to 1500 (when I checked this week is was sitting around 3200 - highest I've ever had) I'm hoping I did the right thing by flushing her for a few hours and then replacing the solution with a much more diluted mix than what I'm used to feeding her. Just in case there still some nutrients caked up in the roots I didn't wanna over feed. Plus I'll be monitoring the ppm to see what the changes are and how I can best respond to my plants needs. If the ppm rises and salts rise then I'll know she's not feeding and is locked out.... in which case I'll come asking you guys for help cuz I don't know what to do about lock outs besides flushing lol Not quite sure if she'll make to maturity but as of right now I'm keeping a close eye on her... I really didn't think leaving for a week would have this kind of effect especially since the only difference is the tent was opened up daily... I also noticed one of my fans wasn't on when we got back so maybe there was a power outage in the time we were gone which is how the temps got high? Idk I'm still investigating this case lol should make a show "crimes against cannabis" 🤣 anyways that's all I got for now, thank you for following along! As always... As mentioned earlier... had to chop her out the garden before getting any kind of yield on her. It's a shame because I know she would've been a frosty one... before the pollen sacks developed she was CAKING UP in trichomes. Could've made some hash out of it but you win some and you lose some in this game... I appreciate all the support and help with this grow from the community 🙏🏾 yall are great!!
