So, I had this two years old seed, sitting in a drawer for almost two years, and decided to give it a try. I've soaked it in plain water with a few drops of 3% hydrogen peroxide, then left it there for a couple of days. Moved in a peat pellet when I saw the seed opening, it came out after a few days... upside down. Ok, my mistake. Took it off gently, reversed, back in the pellet, another couple of days and it came out. Sort of. The cotyledon leaves were stuck in the seed coat. A few drops of water over it, once every two hours, and finally it came out. A whole week from seed to seedling. Not bad for a two year old guy.

And that's a very sloooow start. After a week in the pellet, the seedling was moved in it's final pot on April 17th (and let's call this Day One). External temperatures in the first week were still low at night (around 9-11 degree), so the pot was moved inside after dusk and back outside in the morning. Yeah, there's a net around it. You know, I have cats, and they love to use the pots for their personal matters.

Second week of vegetation, second couple of leaves are developing. Temperatures still on the low side at night, better to keep her inside when the sun goes down...

Third week, and it's growing. Slowly, but it might be accelerating a bit. Hope to start some LST in the coming days. And now let's the feeding begin: just a few drop of Fish Mix to start. More to come...

And we're now entered in the fourth week. Slow growth, just a couple of new leaves, and maybe a couple of centimetres. Started LST, the plant seems to answer well. Increasing the nutriments, but the lady is still drinking with moderation. We had some rain during the week, so mother nature is providing to her needs. The temperatures are going to be higher in the coming days, with more sun and dry air. And that's good.

Flowering time! Started to increase the nutes this week, adding Alg-A-Mic and a few drops of Bio Bloom. Plant is drinking more, as the air is becoming hotter. Very few adjustment to the LST. Spotted some bloody red spider mites hanging around.

Aaaaaaaaahrg! Aphids are coming. Spotted on the bottom page of some of the leaves, it's not an infestation (yet...), but better do something. I've (very lightly) sprayed some linseeds oil, avoiding the flowers. Yeah, I know: neem oil is better. Sorry, shops are closed today, I'll buy it tomorrow. Slowly increasing nutrients, again. It's time to stretch, so let's give her a boost. Added Bud Candy in the mix, I'll alternate that with Top Max.

Boring weeks are here! Plant seems happy enough, flowering mode is on, a (very little) stretching is starting. Slowly increasing nutrients and watering (ph'ed at 6.2), as the weather is hotter (>30° during the day). Last year this strain gave me a very good yeld, without any LST. Let's see how it will go this time...

Well, it's quiet clear that this girl is not going to be very tall... maybe LST isn't the best way to grow her. By the way, flowering is going on, the main cola is growing and I hope to have at least 3 or 4 more decent buds. The very tiny white dots visible on the leaves are (at least I hope) dead aphids. I've tried to enlarge them with a digital microscope (about 70x), as their size is less than a millimetre. Anyone recognize them?

Not much to report, this week. Flowering is going on, and the main cola is getting bigger, but the other ones are still small (even if they receive plenty of light). Parasites are still there, but it's not an infestation: I'll keep spraying some linseeds oil every now and then trying to avoid the flowers, to keep the situation under control. Some lower leaves are yellowing, don't know if there's an issue with the nutrients (which, by the way, I'm slowing increasing). There are at least 3 o 4 other weeks, before even think to harvest. Let's wait and see...

Sorry, missed a weekly update. So we're now past the 10th week (day 71 and counting), for a plant which started flowering around day 30. And it's time to give her a boost. So, I switched from Fish Mix to Bio Grow (smell of the first one was nasty), increased the doses according to BioBizz schedule (still standing on the lower side of the suggested doses), added Bio Heaven in the mix starting yesterday. I've also gave her a couple of drops of CalMag, as I think that there might be some light magnesium deficiency (some of the leaves on the colas are getting brownish and falling, no good). Still fighting with parasites, but I don't want to spray anything on the flowers, as we're getting close to the harvest (maybe two or three weeks). So, a drop of neem oil on water, and gently rubbing some of the leaves with the solution, trying to remove the beasts. As you can see, the girls isn't tall at all. Hasn't grew an inch in the past days, but the buds are beginning to fatten'up a little. Problem is, temperature are rising a lot. Maybe too much. We're in the middle of a heat wave, and during the early afternoon we're hitting some 37-39° celsius. I don't think that this will make her happy. Hey, it's a climate change effect. And it's getting bad. Let's just hope for a weather change, soon enough.

I thought I had it under control. I was sooo wrong. It might have been the hottest summer in our history, the dry air (RH constantly under 30°), my newbie mistakes (of course). I don't know, but the results are here. Overnight, a slight presence of little white critters became an infestation. A big one. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the mighty bloody spider mites in all their furious glory. Not much to do about it, I'm afraid. We are at the very end of flowering, so in a couple of days I'll axe it anyway (flushed already, a week ago). And I can't, of course, spray it with pesticide or soap or oil or any other product. The plant is clearly suffering. It doesn't smell at all. Sugar leaves are browning, and on their surface there's no sugar. It looks like a total disaster. I'll try to wash the buds, right after harvest and before drying. But I really don't know if it will help. This one might end in the trashcan.

Hi there. I think I have a big problem: a big spider mites infestation, right before the harvest. Any chance to get rid of them? Napalm maybe?

Just chop it and hang it, the bugs will vacate. Leaving it any much longer and she will be dead, she is over ripe already as it is.....

Hello my fellow grower. You got u some Aphids. They come in different colors. They deposit some varnish like substance that gray and black mold grow from .Clean good ,Aphids, spider mites and mold spores hitchhike on your clothes. There is beneficial 🐝 insects midges pirate bug,but it to late for that. There is beneficial fungi but to late for that.I would say a light Neem,or hot pepper 🌶️ spray.Chili peppers have capsaicin,a compound that makes them hot. We humans like the hotness but Animals, insects not so much. You could buy but you could make yourself even add garlic

Depends on how bad the infestation is. Either cut your losses and disinfect everything or you can try washing your buds when you harvest with peroxide and lemon juice.

Well, it's over. The girl is in the trashcan. Too much aphids, too much spider mites, even some cochineals, and too much mold. A complete failure. The weather is mostly to blame: a heat wave during the flowering, with temperatures around 36°, dry air and no wind at all: the best condition for the little pests to proliferate. Too late for neem oil, without arming the flowers. I've tried mixing 90% water with 10% alcohol to kill the bastards, but it didn't work. I thought I could save at least some of the lower buds, but they were too little and full of eggs, aphids and webs. This is my first failure. And I hope it will be the last. So long!
