Paper towel germ started 13th, planted 14th. One seed per couple already sprouted vigorously after putting the seed in the soil, literally the day after (15/05). First one was Purple Punch on the 15th, today (16th) one Zkittlez woke up as well. Will wait for the other guys being late to the party. Light dimmer turned almost to half. Will put to max power as soon as eveyrthing is out. Sprinkled water at regular intervals with a sprayer. Not even half a liter in 3 days. Gonna increase as soon as needed. Zkittlez looks like kinda slow starter compared to Purple Punch. Being my first real indoor grow, any pro-tip/advice is going to be much appreciated! :)

Veg Week #1 - 18/05: Everything is out and looks healthy so far, lamp dimmed to 3/4 potential. One of the Zkit presents a minor white burn on the first leaves. PP looks overall way more stable and fast growing. Watering when needed, more or less 0,2 l per 24 to 48 hours each. - 23/05: Nothing much to say, started developing first few short nodes. Little curls appeared on some leaves might it might just be due to lamp position causing plant to twist a little. No nutrients being used, won't use them for the upcoming week for sure, soil seems to be doing great. - 34/05: Identified heat stress from the curling leaves on PP2 and overall temp in the tent, added a stronger fan and opened up more vents. Will update.

25/05: - PP2 finding some relief from heat stress after adjusting the airflow, ordered a better fan and will be coming in next week. - PP1 still looking awesome, queen of them all. - Zkittlez still slow starters but looking healthy and overall very resilient. 27/05: - PP2 recovering, aside from that not much to say. - Zkittlez starting to expand in height, while the PurplePs seem to be getting wider. 29/05: - Lamp dimmed to 3/5th of max power to reduce temps. Managed to lower by almost 2 degrees by also adjusting air flow. Temp stable at 29/30° C - RH 45-50% - Fed about 0,2l per plant with half doses of nutes. 30/05: - Topped top left Zkittlez, scar sealed in a few hours and branches already trying to stand, recovery feedback looking good. Will let it be and start training tomorrow or W3. 31/05: - Too early to train the topped Zkittlez but recovery started and double stem started growing; proceeded with topping the PP1 as well on the 4th node. - Started LST on untopped PP2, the highest in the room.

31/05: - Ended up topping 2 of them yesterday, both recovering great, will let them go for a couple days and start training when branches are long enough. 01/06: - Fed them a bit more nutes yesterday, seems like they're loving it. - Brought lamp from 50cm down to 45cm since I had to lower wattage for heat control. Will adjust accordingly. - Start of week 4 they'll be getting an inline fan and carbon filter for ventilation and odor control, they may be small but they started to smell. 03/06: - The grassy smell is outstanding. - Started minor defoliation (2-3 max fan leaves per plant and a couple lower branches on Zk2) and training adjustments before feeding almost a full 1ml/l of Bio-Grow, wanna keep it low on nutes for this week. - Prepared ScrOG net in case needed. 06/06: - One of the Zkittlez (Zk1) looks a little stunted, but might be genetics since she was the slowest starter since the very beginning. Still bushy and healthy, but branches are really short. - Training turned out pretty weird looking but still managed to filter some light on lower branches and even up the upper ones. - Might be due to heat stress, but I can see early pistils coming out. - Next feeding later today or tomorrow. - Ordered carbon filter and ventilation supplements, can't wait for the next cycle already. 08/06: - Properly adjusted training and spread branches wide open for ventilation and space optimization. - Started feeding bloom nutes right after defoliation and cleaning up some lower branches. Lookin' frrressh :D

Week 4 coming up! 12/06: - A little defoliation before feeding. Temperatures are really high, but I really have no way to deal with that, open to cheap suggestions! 13/06: - Identified minor Nitrogen toxicity from clawing dark green leaves. Will proceed with a few clean flushes after the last feed.

16/06: - Just going through recovery after the first defoliation in flower. Everything looking great! :D - Just hope the temps won't cause much issues, can't handle better than this :(. - Next PH'd flush today to further address the dark and clawing leaves on Zk2. 19/06: - Everything great but couldn't manage the clawing leaves on one of the Zkittlez, probably just genetics and not toxicity as I thought. - The slow starter Zkittlez instead is looking clear, bushy and healthy against all expectations. - PP2 started yellowing lower leaves, doesn't seem like deficiency or overfeeding, I am open to guesses and suggestions.

22/06: START OF WEEK 6 - LOVING IT SO FAR. Learned a lot over the run. - Fed clean PH'd water, everyone is doing great, barely on the edge considering the little nute burning on the tip of the leaves, but I consider that as an indicator instead of a defect. - Sadly the Zk2 looks way too bad, most of the issue is genetic and probably the high temps made it worse, few bud sites and leaves clawing like 360. Been feeding only clean water since it started, but didn't seem to help much. - Rest of the garden is still recovering from defoliation and will be ready around next week for further cleaning :D (PP2 is like hella fkin strong man)

01/07: - Upon waking up today I was greeted by welcomed signs of recovery and new growth on the Zkittlez 2!! (Which was overall curling up and with few leaves and sites) :D - Other girls doing great so far and loving their feed, even tho I can see for myself already that topping isn't that worth it for these strains or maybe autos in general, probably unless you have a close to perfect environment. 04/07: - Even the curly one is looking awesome, badass recovery :D - Feeding at alternate days 0,35l solution ea plant to avoid overfeeding and overwatering.

09/07: - So far everything looking very bright, keeping up the feed once every 2 days. - The recovery on the Zkittlez2 was astonishing, she is now really bushy and healthy, just figured it might have been underfed since it started bushing up when I started giving her more nutes. (Since plain water wasn't working I had to give it a try, would have never figured it out just by checking up symptoms)

22/07: - The PP1 is looking close to finish, probably will start flushing this week with flawless finish. - The smell on Zk2 is crazy, bloody/irony with definitely a lot of pine in it. - Smell's not that strong on Purple Punch I can tell. - Lots of fan leaves removed, let's grow them flowers :D

This week went great overall, straight up growing and ripening. Only issue is with the Zkittlez, seem like somewhat unhealthy genetics/seeds. Zk1 is like drying all out and leaves inside buds are getting crispy and burning. Zk2 instead seems healthier but has cluster of leaves all over the stem. Purples are doing awesome, flawless.

Awesome strain, super resilient and forgiving, I think this might be perfect for beginners. :D The first one gave me 15 g dry. I know, not much, but the pots were 7 liters and the environment too hot during the whole cycle. Still plain smoke, citrusy but earthy, with a good indica high, really good for sleeping.

Seemed particularly sensible to nitrogen toxicity and environmental conditions compared to the Purple Punch. Still the buds are fat as hell and smell awesome. Probably an experienced grower could do miracles with this strain.

Hey there friend. Congratulations on getting into growing cannabis! I think you are gonna really like it here at growdiaries. looking at your diary, Would you be alright with me offering some pointers? So cannabis plants LOVE heat and humidity. It is the buds that hate it. In veg we want to take advantage of this fact to help our plants grow along much quicker and more vigorously. In veg we can look for temps of 79-84 MAX with lights on & no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. If we allow for too much temperature swing between lights on and lights off while the plant is still growing vertically up to day 20 of flower, We will cause the plant to stretch ALOT which we do not want. So in veg & early flower, Keeping our temperature gaps nice and close between lights on and off is key. Utilizing humidity in our rooms during veg will also help out a lot with more rapid growth but we must introduce it properly. In our rooms we have our temperature and humidity set-points, But when we combine those 2 it forms a third set-point which is the most important & that is called VPD, Vapor pressure deficit. I strongly recommend every new grower or old grower who has not learned it yet, To study and understand it & implement it into your room, Logging your numbers daily. https://cerescann.com/importance-of-measuring-vpd/ For soil, We generally want to go for a PH of 6.1. You are for sure getting on the verge of falling out of the sweet spot, Lets get that PH adjusted to 6.1 from here on out my friend :) This website does a GREAT job of illustrating it with a nice graph & very good detailed explanation for soil. https://autoflowerseedshop.com/cannabis-ph-chart-guide/ As we briefly touched on before, During veg & early flower we want our temperature gap's nice and tight to avoid stretch. Why exactly our plants stretch in response to this is a genetic trigger being activated by the environmental stress essentially telling the plant the end of the season is closer than it really is. In veg & early flower the plant is still in its first stage of development which is to grow up wide and tall so when it produces seed, It can cast them out nicely. Remember, Whether we are growing our plants for seed or bud their genetic responses do not change as they gh sidedo not know any different. Once the plant has finished that first stage of growth by weeks 4-6 of flower with most strains, It is by day 20 of flower. Autoflowers you have to watch for it, But once the plant has finished this goal its new mission is to focus 100% on producing nice big flower clusters & to get very sticky so it can attract pollen to it successfully. So once that vertical growth is finished, We actually now want to begin to expose our plants to larger temperature swings between lights on and lights off. This will help activate that genetic response and allow us to draw out the most potential from the strain utilizing the plants genetic triggers to environmental stresses at the right times. We can also take this a step further with doing light deprivation in the last 2 weeks using less light to simulate cloud cover. Very cold feed temps on the last flush is very good too. If you do not have them already, Get yourself a good PAR meter & thermal laser temp gun to monitor your plant top temperatures & optimize how much light your plants are getting. We are currently in the middle of producing a very comprehensive tutorial series for everybody to learn from & understand how to grow the highest level craft cannabis all on their own. If this interests you please check out our youtube and subscribe. The first 2 episodes are out the next one is coming in a few days. If you should ever have any questions or need any help, Please feel free to follow my profile and shoot me a DM. I will gladly help you with the pull down & make sure you get the best quality harvest possible as it is the most important step of the entire process. Good luck my friend!

I would say its possible it's a unlucky batch but likely something along the lines of grower error...no offense. Even ppl that grow for years and pull good harvests have their ups and downs...some plants have different food requirements, and water/soil PH is a big player in having issues...even the same soil mixed differently in different pots can have different starting PH which can throw things off...even slight over watering can stunt autoflowers.... And TBH your Temps are way too high for daytime/nightime..that will stunt/hinder autos for sure. I don't even grow indoors until fall and winter because its too costly to cool this place to 60F to dry/cure during the summer. Much easier to grow in Fall/Winter because the light heats the tent to 80F daytime, and goes down to 70F at Night time... I really love your grow and as long as you're happy thats all that matters but just wanted to share that even a "master grower" is still learning everyday just like me who is just a "hobbyist" for a personal stash for medical Use... and having OPTIMAL CONDITIONS is ESSENTIAL to bring out the best Genetic Expression of any Culitvar ESPECIALLY A AUTO....otherwise its not even worth it for the results one will get.

@Blackstone814, I have to say that I noticed so much difference with the winter grow due to weather, different genetics and tools upgrades! Eveything went so much better from seed to harvest, from yield to quality :D Seeds from a trusted provider are way different, unfortunately I din't document anything on here but the Greenhouse Jack Herer was hella amazing, starting anew with 3 of those just right now! I'll keep learning for sure, gotta step up my watering game for starters :)

game0vercommented3 years ago
@Blackstone814, really appreciate this comment, makes me want to ry again and again, in fact I'm aware of most my mistakes and by the end of the cycle I found the nutes recipe that seems to be working best for this strain or at least the conditions in the tent. But also the pots were pretty small and the soil wasn't really what I would have gone for, also cause I knew it would have been a struggle to get close to perfection with the heat and lack of expertise. Considering all of the stuff I will be adjusting light hours to night time to lower temps and will be using coco in bigger pots with a mix of powder nutes to start off with. Also I got pretty lucky with drying and curing at least, since the wardrobe in my bedroom is the coolest place in the house :D And looking forward to the second Purple Punch, she's getting huge compared to others and I like that a lot, that is what make me think about sorta bad batch as well, since one 1 of 4 is thriving in such harsh environment. Which might mean I didn't do that bad overall, of course I made a lot of mistakes and adjustments, but hey she's feeling pretty good! :) Next time I will be able to better prevent stunting and adjust feeding schedule according to the situation, for sure! Thanks again, and also if you have any tip on the coco mix and what nutes to use, feel free to reply.

Staremo a vedere !
