Thanks to the good people at Ganja Seeds for the beans. I'm looking forward to seeing what I can coax out of these babies. I've had some beginner's luck with early coco grows, I'm hoping this one goes as smoothly. May 8 - tap root sprouted after ~24 hours, transferred her to a jiffy peat pellet because rockwool has fucked me too many times. May 10 - she's raised her head, just popped out of peat with the seed cover still on. I'll give her about 12 hours and if it's still there I'll pick it off with a toothpick to help her out. 3 day germination is about 2 days earlier than usual for me, hopefully a good sign May 11 - cotyledon leaves deployed and first true leaves starting. From hereforth, she shall be known as Betty, after Bruce Banner's one true love (until its retconned into a torrid gay love affair with Rick Jones). Gonna transplant her into pre-buffered coco/perlite in a solo cup, following the frequent fertigation instructions from cocoforcannabis.com. I've got a Fruity OG Kush that's flourishing from that technique, hoping I can replicate those results

Very little to report, Betty looks good, growth always seems glacial at this stage, can't wait to get her transplanted. I've been spraying her with calmag solution as a preventative measure - I'm already spraying the other plants already in coco so what the hell May 20 - transplant was flawless, once again showing you can indeed transplant autos if it's done carefully. Betty now resides in a 2 gallon fabric pot filled with about 2:1 coco/perlite. So far no signs of calmag deficiency as can be a problem in coco and indeed was an easily corrected issue in my earlier grows

I'm doing the frequent fertigation plan outlined on cocoforcannabis.com and find it works but my fabric pots are getting funky. How can I kill/prevent unwanted growth without harming my girls?

You could try to spray the outside with peroxide but with that style of feeding you can't really stop it. Its living off of the excess feed soaking into the fabric. I don't see it harming the plant any. But excess peroxide soaking though the fabric could harm the roots. So use it with caution. Other option is to increase the airflow aorund the pots so its not as moist and it may die back. Good Luck!

Oy, what a week...freak tornado took out power for 72 hours, leaving Betty in the dark other than some ambient light during the day. I honestly had no idea what damage would be done but so far it seems to have been minimal. I continued the FF schedule of every 12 hours.... I'll admit I didnt bother monitoring the ph/EC runoff but it seems good now and Betty is looking good, strong like Hulk. Fourth node is formed as of this writing at the end of week 2

All is well so far. Betty is growing nicely, her leaves reach past the edge of her pot. I'm waiting for a while to start LST, I recently snapped the stem on Grapefruit Haze Auto and I'm still a little gun shy - the sound of that *snap* haunts my dreams....

Betty is definitely thriving with the coco/frequent fertigation routine. I was able to gently bend the top of her stalk towards one side and tie it down. The stalk is unusually sturdy/woody for a plant so young and I didnt want to repeat a previous disaster so i kept the bend minimal and increased it slightly a day or so later so that it's now enough to break the apical dominance (best band name ever..."Ladies & Gentlemen, time to rock out with your cock out with Apical Dominance!") June 9 - I can see the LST has had the desired effect, shes more of a small shrub now instead of the default Christmas tree. Just past 4 weeks now, should be seeing some preflowers soon

Thinned Betty out by removing a lot of the biggest fan leaves and then did some LST on the longer tops to spread everything out and get more light into the center. Always looks like hell after it's just been done, she should fill back in pretty quickly if this goes like previous autos. Still no sign of preflowers but theres nothing to do but wait....dammit 6/13 moved Betty into the flowering tent, maybe it will induce flowering, maybe not but it cant hurt

It looks like shes finally begun the flowering stage, it looks like there are preflowers forming at the bud sites. She bounced back great from the LST and defoliation just as I expected/hoped. I will keep adjusting the ties as she stretches and try and resist defoliating until after the stretch so I dont divert any energy away from growing

Betty is doing nicely, maybe taking a little longer to get the flowering underway than I'm used to but it's my first time with this strain, it could be normal. The important thing is she's green and healthy and bounced back great from some light defoliation and LST

Flowering is progressing slow as fuck. She seems healthy as can be and not stalled at all so I'm not complaining. I've done some light defoliating but have resisted the urge to go whole hog up until now. That restraint will likely be tossed to the wayside sometime this week so I can get her bud sites soaking up precious photons

Betty is doing well. Did some defoliation to expose more bud sites and she bounced back almost immediately. The salt build up is unsightly but a hell of a lot better than one of her sisters in a beige grow bag, she's covered in algae

Same ol, same ol....slowly coming along....looking back, she didn't start flowering until after 6 weeks, I've got a younger BB from the same package going along the same timeline. Took advantage of Amazon Prime Day and upgraded to a 400W Phlizon COB for the outrageously low price of 79.99 CAD....I've got it on a lower setting until I'm sure it's not too much too close July 18 - some LST and defoliation

Betty is doing great, now that shes in flower it seemed to be hapo2nong faster than I'm used to. I just hope it allows enough time for the buds to fatten, I've got a Auto Gelato also from Ganja Seeds that's almost done with lots of small buds:-/

Tightened Betty's LST ties and spread her open some more for more light penetration. Did some minor pruning to remove middle branches that weren't going to produce much. After the schwazzing a week or two ago the trichomes have erupted on the remaining leaves. They are past being frosty and actually look furry. Some pistils have a dusting of orange already, I have a feeling that the buds will mature fast but not get big, that's what happened with my Auto Gelato from the same breeder.

Wow, I've been so busy admiring the furry leaves that I lost track of the days and didnt check the trichomes until now, already 5-10% amber. I'll flush her now for 2 or 3 days before the chop - this is gonna be an extra sticky one :-)

29 grams dried (the tray weighs 61.98g). I left the trim leafier than usual because the buds were small and the sugar leaves are just _encrusted_ with trichromes. Easily the stickiest weed I've grown and the stickiest I've seen in a while. Quality control testing to follow.... Testing successful, I'm baked :-)
