This is my second attempt at a stealth indoor grow after my first (semi-successful) attempt in a computer case. I am using feminised seeds of these two very different strains. Space is very limited so I plan on doing a SCROG to keep the height in check.

It's been a bad week. All four of my babies have been showing distress, it must have been something in my perlite/vermiculite/sand/proportion mix. I flushed with ph7 water on day 10 after feeling something was wrong but their condition only got worse, showing signs of nutrient burn and twisted development. I've decided to VERY CAREFULLY perform a bare root transplant into sphagnum moss (a neutral propogation medium). I was very careful to not damage the roots, and found that: 1. The BBG seedlings were not developing roots at all. 2. The Sour Diesel seems much hardier and was successfully rooting deeply. The next week will tell if I made the right choice here. I really hope they begin to recover.

We have liftoff! It was a bit touch and go for a while there, and all four seemed to be getting worse at first. I reduced watering to every 3rd day to promote rapid root growth, and it seems to have been successful because the second set of leaves developed practically overnight! I've also traded some adderall for an exhaust fan :D. This will be necessary when the plants start to smell, and I am in the process of getting an odour filter made - I might do it myself with some activated carbon but am skeptical as to how well it will work. The fan will pull air in through the bottom rear of the cabinet and exhaust the filtered air outside via a removable flexible duct. I also planted x2 AK47 seeds in coco coir when it looked like my original specimens were going to die. I think I might flower the BBG early to make room.. and because I can't wait to taste it!

Then there were three! I finally decided to pull the runt, and the AK47 seedling couldn't handle the strain from the fan. The three remaining ladies are beginning to smell just lovely. Things are going great with my beauties, however I have put the heater back on to deal with low night time temperatures. I also noticed moss growing on the sphagnum, so I pulled out any traces I could see and covered with coco coir. The sphagnum retains water very well so I will be watering less frequently. The next thing I'm going to do is prepare my ScrOG, get bigger pots for transplanting, and its time to up the nutes this coming week.

My plants are starting to make my room stink! This week I will be adding a carbon filter and my SCROG. I also noticed some leave tips turning black and after some googling decided to transplant into bigger pots. It was definitely the right call - the roots had started tangling around the base of the pots.

Your pH may be too high.
Tophat
Tophatcommented7 years ago
Yeah definitely! Use pH down to stabilize the tap water after it sits out for at least 24 hours to dechlorinate. I hope they have a speedy recovery!

@Tophat, our tap water has ph 8.7 over here. Its possible using tap water for the first 2-3 days led to a pH lockout.

I wish they will be healthy soon. How about your nutrients in the water?
Asa_Nouka
Asa_Noukacommented7 years ago
@Akeetz, I can see the difference between damaged leaves and new healthy leaves. They are on right track and also you are already on!

@Asa_Nouka, I have started this week with a 1/2 recommended dose of a 22(N)-6(P)-12(K) soluble nutrient with Cal/Mag. So far the plants have responded well.

Hi! Nice grow! maybe if you reduce the distance between plants and lights should grow better (20 cm).

@Turbuhaler, thanks for the advice! Can't believe I didn't think of that!

Love the use of a cupboard. I was going to do something similar with an old upright piano. I’d got it free off Freecycle.org , never did it though because I ended up with “host” houses and colleagues. But fantastic mate , I wish you well . Happy growing

Sick grow can! I wouldn’t advise you to feed them ramen noodles though ;)

I wanna grow this strain too. Looking good. Hey, I know it's cool to view them, but you might want to put something reflective on the inside to reflect the light in the box? Just my 2 cents. Good luck with your grow!

I had a look at buying a roll of mylar but decided against it this time - I'm trying to do this grow as cheaply as possible so I used white paint I had lying around. I'll definitely get some mylar for the next grow!

What nutes are you using in your coir?

This is what I wanna do. The stealth-grow cabinet looks very nice. Keep rocking!
