Really excited to be asked to grow this Strain, And the timing could not be better.
High theft in my neighbourhood has led to my discovering a slice of “Growers heaven” between my Garage and my Neighbours Garage…
It will be short-vegged about a month until the days get shorter… and shaped a bit to produce narrow and wide tba
May 17th
- dropped the seed and it’s 1/2” tail into a soil-filled 1 gallon pot. It has a Full Tent to go and rest in. The Seed itself is ~ 3/4” below surface. Not far
- 3 cap-fulls of water, done
This plant, along with a couple of AutoFlowers will be grown with a guerilla-grow mentality…
** this is a Sativa dominant hybrid bringing Colombian Gold x Kali Mist x AK47 all together… **
https://growdiaries.com/seedbank/doctors-choice/cali-crasher
18th
- while feeding the tent this morning… I accidentally back-handed the 1 gallon pot, that the Cali Crusher was residing-in. The Top-half of the soil was jettisoned; 99% of the soil was returned… but who knows where in the pots top-half the seed is…
“What would you do?” Dig-it out and properly re-orient-it, or carefully expand the watering zone, and carry-on.
- In all fairness to Doctors Choice, I began soaking seed#2 at 13:00 and will make good on my invitation to grow this wild sounding Cali Crasher.
- And I’m going to let it ride with CALI CRASHER #1, literally. Water Gently and Carry-on. Big Picture, could be a week before seeing anything really in #1
*** big shout-out to “ JamMakecan “ for prompting me to search for, and to repair, the upset Cali Crasher… and Holy Shit, I found her in about a 1/3 of the depth and on a side-wall. Healthy and curled up with new growth, #1 has been re-Planted !
- seed#2 is soaking, and still goes in a paper towel at 13:00
May 20
- and we find the original projectile; cali crasher#1, comfortably pushing through the surface, whew!!! All looks good
May 22, 2022
- sprayed the seedling with water and let it sit; then with tweezers helped pick the Membrane from one of the Cotyledons. Alls good
- see where it goes now that it's above ground.
May 24th
- looks like #2 Cali Crasher has broken ground this morning.
- Cali Crasher #1 had a bit of attitude today, which is a welcome posture. It seemed to have stalled for a couple of days. Next feed will tickle the roots. Happy to see change
25th
- and the soli cup with Cali Crasher#2 had to be put in the Sun, and thats all it took to turn the Seedlings head around.
- Cali 1 looks solid
26th
- both seeds have shown the same growth characteristic. That is they are very small seedlings. Strong looking, but diminutive to start with
27th
- first dinner with nutes. Cali Crasher #1 is growing…
Cali #2 is being tested by a Friend from here on in
June 5th
- Cali Crasher has had root-boosts and water mix’s, now the next feed will have a more direct Nutrient approach.
- will introduce Foliar Misting asap
7th
- nutrient dinner this evening
- cotyledon and 1st True leaves removed
- FIMmed the main cola before it got too far. Took it low, by hand and is it ever clean. Thanks LegacyMarketFarm / JamMAKEcan
10th
- plant is outside and thriving. Caught some rain yesterday, but not enough to stop tomorrow’s breakfast nutes
- 2nd Node has solid new growth, 4 days after being FIM’d
June 12th
- fed in the morning. Plant loves being outside
June 15
- next meal will feature Root boosts for Cali Crasher. Not many were visible when I checked earlier
16th
- FIM’d all 4 mature bud-site locations. Low fim, just below the Crown
17th
- flushed the plant with 6.5pH due to concerns with its 2 grow-mates and a batch of food / wilting
- Being cautious
June 20th
- The plant is recovering and all FIM sites (6) are producing
- moving Cali Crasher to a 5 gal fabric pot shortly
22nd
- transplanted Cali Crasher into refurbished soil, in a 5 gal Fabric Pot.
- 1.5L root boost applied to new substrate
23rd
- mounted the brackets and Cal Crasher is now a guerilla grow; between the Garages. Still hard to see because its kinda congested, and petite, but there are 4 perfect Colas forming at the Canopy and two solid colas from node #1. (Maybe more)
24th
- Cali Crasher had a 1-gal lunch, that allowed for some run-off. None captured but the Substrate is fresh and liquid has touched everything
- Going to monitor actual time under the sun between these bldgs. Fingers-crossed.
- with this new overnite growth, you can now see separation, at the top of the plant where the FIMming occurred. 4 Colas stand where there was 1
26th
- as small as she is, I’m applying a little HST to help open things-up for the 6 Cola effort. Today it had developed enough that there could be some separation and isolation to help train the growth into this shape
- Now its outside and “Hands-off”
- LST; pins are simply holding these branch(s) in place, not forcing anything.
- next 2 meals involve Nutrients as soon as its dry enough. Roots were just spoiled. Here comes dinner
-
June 27th
- LST successfully applied yesterday. Plant is laid-out and open for 6 Colas; hands-off now.
- last fed on the morning of the 24th; 1 gallon of Nutrients w/ run-off. No issues
- maximum direct-light exposure of 9 hours between the Garages yesterday, thats it. There are a couple hours of blue light at each end, but direct light is limited, and will reduce the deeper into Fall we get.
June 30th
- 1 gallon of nutrients, (posted above) fed full breakfast at 80% strength
- small adjustments to LST, she’s growing daily
-picture posted this morning (july 1) is only 24hrs since the June 30th pic. Huge difference
July 3rd
-last day of week 6
July 4th
- safely into week 7. Solid growth and development to this point. Lets see how she stands up now that the pattern is laid-out
- last fed on the 30th; 1gal
- next meal is from the Water part of the food cycle; nute - nute - water
- amended the soil with 2” Worm Castings, scratched it in to the soils surface
- pulled a set of leaves off of each branch, exposing the middle nodes. New growth on each branch. Here we go!
July 5th
- rain has fallen, and the plant was partially protected. Wait and see if it has affected tonights Dinner. We are in the water portion of the Meal cycle; Nute-Nute-Water. Posted above
- compost is ready after months. Leaf / Soil mix added to the pot at dark.
July 7
- fed 1 gal of a Grow Microbe, Enzyme and Molasses-based dinner. Full list of ingredients Posted above
- this week is proving to be instrumental in Establishing the shape and kicking the growth into Gear !!! Chunky dinner had to be diluted… lol grow buddy grow
- someone asked about the LST techniques I use: wire, branch bending etc. Inposted 2 quik videos on how the Cali Crasher had acquired and held those curves
9th
- I saw an opportunity to make one more similar move on the plant, with the same style of LST training. Once again I extended the 6 upward facing branches, straight outward; first thing this morning.
10th
- fed 2.5 Litres of Nute cycle. With Grow Microbes oops, looks like we make the water-meal, Next
July 11th, 2022
- last fed Yesterday; 2.75L
- next meal is from Water cycle
12th
- plant really got watered in a good healthy downpour overnite
13th
- and again today
July 18th
- rain overnite will delay Water portion of dinner; Nute 1- Nute 2- Water
- using the true-leaf node does not contribute to yield. This Fim’d grow went from 4 colas to six, when the true leaf node grew well and appeared strong.
Now that the plant has mayured and is approaching flower, you can see how each if the 1st node branches, is producing buds at each opportunity !!! The true leaf node, only has a Bud on the End of the branch
- cali crasher fed 2 Litres Water portion, rain did not impact her
19th
- just a reminder folks, this grow is an effort to harvest a plant outside, at home, and Not have it stolen. So, its getting reduced-light / reduced-access, between the garages. Thats whats behind this project.
its a little behind schedule, but she’s now taking on the shape that was planned and its gonna happen.
an Early Fim session, found me working with the true leaf branch, I’d never tried; and it became buds 5/6. Their individual growth has been average and Yes its producing a similar Cola/Bud shape as the other 4 branches… but there is little Vegetation at all, along the true-leaf branch itself. Adding more fuel to the statement. Just chop it off next time… lol
- taking an image tonight at dusk, of a relaxed Cali Crasher. I Saw it last night, with all the Leaves relaxed… and it was six obvious colas developing.
No Camera then, but I’ll get that image tonight.
-double Fim sessions on 1st node will produce 8 branches from 1 level. That looks best, healthiest and probably next, when the Late-Fall, indoor season happens. Height and Headroom are always going to be the issue there. This grow is going to help.
-Thanks again Doctors Choice!!!
( ak47 / colombian gold / kali mist = CALI CRASHER )
22nd
- fed 3.5L root-boost for maybe the last time. Through to run-off; 1000ppm in: ~ 1000ppm out
- plant is putting some Vertical (x6) in its game

July 25th
- new week, fed a couple of days ago (22nd) to Run-off
- Strong growth last week
26th
- YES, it was Dry. D R Y. So, another Gallon of Grow Microbe tea, with run-off. 1400ppm in: 1350 out
29th
- fed a Gallon from the Water portion of the Feed - Feed -Water cycle. Posted above
30th
- steady growth sees this plants 4, 1st-node Colas, hitting 40cm vertical. And the 2 Colas from the lower, Tru-Leaf node are actually seeing growth at step of the branch, its great to see it contributing and these 2 resulting Colas are LeGiT !!
- 3 separate colas are forming in the Interior of the plant, from the Horizontal growth. Bonus, there will be more. Picture above
31st
- last day of the week
- realizing that these smaller, internal Colas / foliage are going to take NRG away from the 6 main Colas, I have cleaned-up the internal leaves at the hub. No distractions for the Starz
- 3 more cm of growth overnite, again. She is working hard I have to say!!!
- used the moisture meter, wow, and she is almost dry… I’m loving these shorter turn-arounds. 1 gal of Grow Microbe tea brewing for tomorrows breakfast. Worm Castings added, Molasses, Enzymes and the last Root Builder.
Aug 1
- next meal is from Feed portion of Nute Cycle. Yesterday was Water (feed - feed - water)
- she is growing beautifully now that its uninterrupted
Aug 3/4
- two big rain days has thrown all scheduling to the wind
- top Colas are showing Wispy leaves pretending to be Pistils. Change is happening.
- Now that the Plant is SOAKED thoroughly by 2 days of rain, I’m going to apply “Bloom” Soil Amendments to its surface… and its going to slide right into Bloom next week.
5th
- soil amended after the 2 days of rain
- next meal to feature the last Root Boost treatment; will keep it small, accordingly moist. Goal is a full-course “Bloom Dinner” on the 13th. A Welcome to Flower kind of Meal
*Amendment ingredients: bat guano, Power Bloom, Azomite, Kelp Meal, Worm Castings + (smaller amounts of Bone Meal, Dolomite Lime, dried crushed 2019 “old-buds”, perlite: black soil = to volume of worm castings for treating 3 plants)

23rd
- plant grew 6cm, basically over-nite!!! Wow
25th
- Microbe Tea brewing for tomorrow
- Pistils are appearing…
26th
- rain overnite, plant is “still”Dry-side of Medium, breakfast time; 1 gal. Posted above.
- !!! Cali Crasher finally exceeded expectations and has surpassed the One Metre tall mark. Measured from the orig height, of the original soil via green wire for LST poking through the side of Fabric pot. Its a beaUtiful plant
*** tested the run-off from the Feed this morning, its been a while. Run-off = < 3000ppm, so the plant was flushed till ppm dropped below 1500. Yep, it took 5 gal of pH’d water. The Last gallon (5th one) included the bloom nutes, a 2nd time, due to the Flush. That final gallon equaled 1000ppm
- next week sees a Large-leaf schwazze on 31st (20days since orig schwazze). Any key, medium-sized shadow-maker gets yanked as well. Still gonna call it a 70% schwazze
28th
- last day of week 2 in Flower
- Nutes for Breakfast 1gal
- really happy this beast climbed over the Metre-mark this week
Aug 29th
- I prepped the plant for Flower, half a week early, so week 3, is legit even though it sounds eager. Plant looks so solid
- fed 1gal of nutes yesterday
- 2nd Schwazze tomorrow… 20 days from the 1st (10th)
30th
- a meal of NPK nutes was provided + Calimag; 1 gallon
- Schwazze carried out (#2) 20 days after going into Flower
-posted 2 shots from Aug 9th Schwazze event; my First. Wow what a change in 21 days
- next meal is water and will be to Run-off as required to drop PPM below 1500
Sept 1st
- Meal time today is Water to Run-off. The last big feed saw elevated ppm in the run-off and it was flushed till it dropped below 1500. That was not the end, as today it gets a proper flush of 4 gallons of pH’d water, followed by a fifth gallon with Basic NPK nutes + Massive Bloom (12ml/Gal) at 1300ppm
- as the last (5th) gallon went in, the PPM of the run-off tested below 1500ppm. I call that even till next time. And now I know theres no excess chems built-up in the bottom of the Pot; Forward it is
- targeted pH going in has always been 6.4. The runoff had a pH of 6.3 and that is an awesome number to confirm.
Targeted meals are now 6.5 pH
- now the Flush is Done, it is time to Top-Dress and Amend the soil again.
Same ingredients; Bat guano, Worm Castings, Azomite, Kelp Meal and “Power Bloom” + 3-4 oz of Dried Crushed Fan leaves from other grows. This is Scratched into the surface and mixed as best possible. Water as needed. Nutes as desired

- she hit 125 cm
10th
- last day week 4
- took the plant off of the perch today and gave it a once over. Surprised and Happy to report that the True-Leaf branches are actually full of Buds and will be contributing to the Yield. I left them intact because I’ve never seen them grow, they were just an automatic snip… we’ll see how the Buds form ! Picture above

Amending the soil later this week for the final dash to Harvest and I'm going to feed the final weeks on mostly water. I want to add some specific Nutes here shortly, and don't want any Drama. 20 gal of water that is pH prep'd, to see what I need to get the Run-off below 500ppm
