Germinated 2 dessert isle auto's by night owl. Soaked for 24 hrs and put in a paper towel for 24 hrs also. All germinated perfectly and rapidly.
5/22 update: both seeds sprouted but unfortunately one seed died off for some reason. Now we will just run 1 dessert isle auto.
The grow has now taken off. Planted 2 seeds but for some odd reason 1 seed died right after it broke the ground so we dropped down to just 1 dessert isle.
She sprouted on 5/20 and just finished her first week.
end of week 2 is here.
No problems this week with the plant or tent temps. I did have fungus gnats pop up already but i have taken care of those already so they won't be a problem in the future.
day 10: i found her on her side because she got to top heavy and wasn't secured in the soil so i put a stake in and tied her up. Her top was tilted alittle reaching for the light but she straightened out within the day.
day 14: i decided to FIM her since she was already forming her 5th node. We shall see how she takes it and bounces back. Today was feeding day so i gave a top dress of 4 tbs of bio-starter and 2.5 tbs of flower tone, watered afterward to work dry amends into soil.
cheers, happy growing!
End of week 3 is here.
Decent week for the girl as she has grown quite a bit since the last update. No issues with temps/RH or pests.
I started to LST this week on day 17 and ill just be honest, I have no method to my madness. I just started tying everything down seeing how far i could possibly go. However, I do see i made a mistake with LSTing while she was recovering from the FIMing. Seems like she had to much going on to really focus on recovering the top but i've learned from my mistakes so i'm happy to just have her alive.
I snipped a few leaves off and cut the tips off of some to allow better light penetration since it looks like a mess.
Decided to try my luck with some realgrowers Recharge so that will be used on next watering.
cheers, happy growing!
Week 4 has ended for the girl
This was a good week for her as she grew a nice amount and flipped to full flower about mid week.
I did alittle defol here and there as the week went on since im still learning i do it in small amounts. I also tried my hand at lollipopping for the first time which is alittle nerve wracking when you start. I do hope i did it right for the little amount i did on her.
Adjusted some lst'd branches to allow more light
This week was feeding week for the girl:
- On 6/13 she got .5 tsp recharge in 1g water. Will do weekly Recharge waterings which just so happen to fall on Monday's.
- On 6/16 she got 7.5 tbs flower tone and 1.5 tbs bio-tone. Gave bio-tone to give little boost for stretching.
Cheers, Happy growing!
End of week 5 update.
Another good week for the girl with growth and having no issues.
Not much to update this week as i'm just letting her do her thing. Only trimmed off fan leaves blocking light and adjusted branches to allow more spacing between bud sites.
She is now starting to pick up a smell and it has a light smell of vanilla and a stronger tropical smell to it. Really pumped to see what this smells like when its done.
On 6/23 she was given .5 tsp realgrowers recharge in 1gal water.
cheers, happy growing!
We have reached the end of week 6. Been a busy week so i'm late on the update and slacked on pictures this week.
Nothing major to add this week. Just letting her do her thing and not messing with her much.
This week i transitioned from defoli to leaf tipping to reduce the amount of stress. Don't need to remove full leaves at this point just to allow alittle better light penetration.
She got her weekly .5tsp recharge in 1gal water and her bi-weekly top dressing of just straight 9tbs flower tone
Cheers, happy growing!
The end of week 7 is here.
Not much to add for this week since i'm just letting her be. Have stable temps/rh the whole grow so no issues there whatsoever. Pests haven't really been a issue but i do find a fungus gnat stuck to a bud every now and again.
SMELL: I have failed to mention what she smells like up until now and i apologize for that.
---Right now she has nice fruity smell to her with alittle vanilla expression here and there. When you bend the buds and smell the inside you get a nice deep gas smell with a overlayer of fruit. So far her smell isn't overpowering at all and i can leave my tent open for about 30 minutes before the room starts to smell but if you play with the buds it gets really strong.
She got her weekly recharge watering on monday and has been booming ever since.
Been debating on using this terpinator i have but last time i had nute lock out due to salt build ups. Haven't fully decided if i want to risk it or not.
Cheers, Happy growing!
End of week 8 is here.
The girl is doing absolutely terrible right now and i honestly can't figure out what exactly is going on with this girl.
Personal Diagnosis: She started having issues out of nowhere. It honestly started in 1 night: when i took pictures she was okay but the next day she was not okay whatsoever.
- At first i thought i was having a potassium (k) deficiency. So i went to reddit to ask for opinions and was told it looks like a potassium issue.
- After determining what it was i went out and got some liquid kelp. I added 1 tbs of liquid kelp to 1gal of water and watered in. I went with the amount on the bottle due to how bad she was looking.
- After using liquid kelp she didn't get better at all and continued to get worse as the days continued.
- After some head scratching i realized my plant hasn't been growing at all. She looks exactly the same as last week and hasn't fattened her buds or anything. Due to this i figured i had a complete nutrient lockout on the plant and she wasn't growing or eating.
- Couldn't really figure out why i had a nutrient lockout but decided to stop using realgrowers recharge as i never had a issue until i started using in 2 weeks ago. Flushed her soil with about 3-4gal of water and re-added bio-tone and flower tone dry amendments.
All in all i have this feeling she won't pull through due to her week of no development whatsoever. It is very unfortunate that i ran into this issue using all organic items that feed the soil instead of the plant to try to negate issues i personally cause. Last time i had a issue like this was due to me starting to use terpinator which caused a salt build up. Ph hasn't been too bad i average about 6.4-6.8 but haven't tested after adding recharge (didn't think of until now).
lets hope she pulls through and bounces back so i can update next week.
cheers, happy growing!
Forgot to update this week and then had an emergency come up so i couldn't update afterwards.
Don't fully remember what i did this week but i'm pretty sure i just let her go cause i couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. water/soil ph was good, i let my water sit out for atleast 48 hrs and gave her nutes but never bounced back.
finished with my first dessert isle grow and it was relatively easy. I did run into some issues with her around the middle of flowering and never bounced back.
***will give a better report when i can use my hand and plant is dried***
@KAPT_SAVE_Da_HOE, thanks homie 🙏.
Also for this size tent i've found i can run 3 - 3gal pots or 2 - 5gal pots. When i do 3 i really have to train then because it gets alittle crowded.
