Buckle up/strap in for the ride! Going to be tracking my Lemon Kush grow, and perhaps the other three strains I have growing further along in the grow room. The plants are all in Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil - which seems to be a bit too hot. I haven't used FFOF in a while and wanted to give it another grow. Nutrients will come by way of Gaia Green dry amendments only. We have an enhanced set up this time. Running 3 x Mars Hydro SP 250 lights, providing a total of 750W of light across all my plants. We are using Inkbird controllers to automate temp and RH. NEW for this round is supplemental Co2. I am running a Co2 tank with a Vivosun regulator and Inkbird controller. Right now we have the Inkbird set to maintain 1200 ppm through veg.
You'll note in my pics there are 3 other plants that are much further along that were started from clones, those strains are: Black Diamond, Fruity Pebbles, and Death Bubba. Follow along for more!
As mentioned in my first week's log, these Lemon Kush plants are sharing the grow room with three more mature plants. The other three are large enough that i've made the decision to flip the room to flower. I have flipped to 12/12 lighting this week, but I see no signs of flowering yet on my little Lemon Kush plants so I will likely mark next week as Week 1 flowering for these girls. Curious to see what the final size will be given these plants are being flipped so young. So this journal will serve as an experiment :). We can see two distinct and different phenos here. One with tighter/squatter node spacing and fat fan leaves, and one with thinner leaves and more sparse spacing. Will be interesting to see how these two phenos differ as things progress.
I have re-potted the Lemon Kush into their final 5 gal grow bags. I'm finding FFOF a little too hot, as usual, so the Lemon Kush have a 50/50 blend of FFOF/Sunshine Mix #4. C02 is keeping at 1000ppm for now as my tank is running empty. The plan is to refill the tank and blast 1200-1500ppm through flower. I've added a 50 pint dehumidifier to keep humidity low, as I have concerns of PM on one of my more mature plants. In this room, the dehumidifier can keep the room under 40% RH, so I'm happy about that. Aiming for 25C daytime temps in the room, although the dehumidifier is adding heat. I've ramped up my exhaust fan to compensate.
Looking forward to more updates!
Things are continuing to look great! The plants are now under a flowering light cycle. They were flipped very young so still not seeing much in the way of flowering development yet. I will likely mark next week as Week 1 of flower. Co2 is running strong at 1200ppm. The room is running hot during the day as I'm running a large dehumidifier (there are other plants in the room) so we creep up to 28-29C during the day - which is ok for now as I'm running supplementary Co2...However i'd like to get the temps down later in flower in order to preserve terpenes. I will likely have to turn off Co2 at some point in order to get temps down, as I can't stop the dehumidifier and my only means of cooling the room down would be ramping up my exhaust fan - so I won't want to be enriching the room with expensive Co2 and then sucking it straight out the exhaust! I have two distinct phenos of this Lemon Kush that are developing differently, as pictured :)
On the topic of nutrients - I must say I am loving Gaia Green products. I have never had such a smooth run - organic amendments feel like growing on "easy mode". No messing around with different formulas, just the odd top dressing and the plants have remained well fed and happy. This is not an entirely organic grow - I have a couple other non-organic staple items I use, mainly "SugarDaddy" from Technoflora, and a GroTek CalMag product.
More updates to follow!
My Lemon Kush plants are starting to stretch out and flower :) Not much has changed, smooth sailing thus far! I have just top dressed with Gaia Green Power Bloom. Co2 is running at 1400ppm. Looking forward to seeing these plants bulk up!
Week 3 of flower! I missed an update last week. Things continue to go swimmingly in the garden. These Lemon Kush plants have surprised me - these few weeks of flower have seen the girls stretch unbelievably! With the genetics in mind, I was expecting shorter, squat plants with fatter leaves. Turns out we have very lanky plants with thin leaves.
Note: in my pictures you will see my other plants in the room that are farther along into flower with big buds - these are not Lemon Kush. Just a disclaimer. The Lemon Kush plants are the slender, early flowering plants pictured.
Super excited to see how these develop in the coming weeks.
The Lemon Kush is really starting to put on some size! Significant growth since last week. We have some large colas in the making folks! Smooth sailing so far. Every few weeks i've top dressed with Gaia Green Power Bloom. Once a week i'll add in some Technaflora SugarDaddy. Looking forward to the later stages of flowering on these girls.
Colas have blown up in size! These girls have been slow to flower but are now packing on size, weight, and frost. These are among the largest colas I've seen - about the length of my forearm. Great citrus and herbal aroma coming off the plants. At this point I think we are still 2-3 weeks from harvest. We will see how they progress from here.
Feeding has been as needed with Gaia Green amendments with the occasional infusion of some calmag and SugarDaddy.
Those plants you have in your diary that you say are week 4 flowering.....theres no way those are 4 week flowering Lemon Kush plants. I grow lemon kush and they don't look like that at 4 weeks...
