HLG 260w Qb288v1 4000k; 20/4 light schedule. 24 inches from canopy. Temp range 72-81F. RH range 42-55%. LST has really brought out the potential colas on both plants. One is lagging a bit behind the other, but not by much. The light is so strong the plants are nearly flat due to LST - 5.5 inches tall Day 28 What should my nutrient schedule be this week? Using Fox Farms soil trio. Thinking 1/4 strength grow big and tiger bloom every other feeding. Hoping they get a good stretch, trying to get highest yield I can (my first experience not having to purchase cannabis from anyone!) Watering every 24 hours with 1/4 gallon pH corrected 6.3 well water ( no runoff). Entire smart pots feels light and dry before I water either plant.

Does the Green Crack look like it is root bound, heat stressed, or getting too many nutrients?

I guess you're asking because it's smaller than the other? This is normal, in my experience the plants are like trains that take a while to accelerate - this one will chug along just fine, it's just getting there. One thing i learned from my first fast buds grow is that you don't really need veg nutes, straight to bloom nutes worked very well for me. You're on the high end of the temperature range though, this won' hurt them i guess, but the fast buds are sensitive to heat in my exp. that means it might take a little while more to flower and harvest. Just my two cents ! happy growen ! 👌💪😃

I forgot my tip, to add some flaps to your fans to 'randomize' the air flow a bit. 😊 Great choice for light!

@therivernile,That sounds like a 10/10 solution 😊 A decent oscillating fan will be one of the best upgrades for your setup (which is already killer) I move my stationary fan around quite a bit because I noticed similar growth patterns where the plant 'grew with the wind'. Now I also keep it blowing air from the bottom instead of from the top, and I have noticed improvement. In my mind it's beneficial to keep the air refreshed/moving wherever the plant is most bushy. So it can take as much CO2 as it can in areas where air would otherwise not move around so much. When the fan was pointing down, almost no air made it to the base of the plant. 👍 As an aside, I would not be too worried about the LED heat - there are some pictures/videos on the internet of heat radiation from HPS and LED lamps. HPS creates a lot of heat below the lamp and increases the soil temperature significantly, whereas the LED I saw in those demonstrations radiates most of the heat upwards. Although, from what I have read, the LEDs will run more efficient if you can cool it better. So it will be worth it regardless.

@BillMonroe, Yo Bill! I had an idea I wanted to run past you. I think I might just put a larger oscillating fan in the bottom of the tent blowing between the two plants. I think I'm going to take those white clip on fans and use them directly on the heatsink of the LED to more effectively disperse the heat. I have a 4 inch inline duct fan coming out of the top of the tent so it is pulling off the heat. Do you think that would be a better way to go for airflow? Cheers, TRN

Your plants look absolutely fine to me at this stage. I wouldn’t change anything at this stage. I think you’ll see nice healthy growth over the next few weeks if you keep on the same path. Also I dig your tent layout and lighting! Well done! 👍

Your plant looks great! This is just a theory but try 18 hours instead of 24 for light for stem growth? I noticed this a little myself they would stretch more in the dark. Otherwise your plant is super healthy!

@therivernile, Yeah sounds good! If you are using any soil with nutrients already in it be careful not to over-nutrient it, but if not it should be fine! I'm using fox farm soil so it's pretty hot for my plants and I don't add nutrients til about 30 days and if it's a huge pot sometimes it can go longer.

@BudStinkWeed, Thanks for the feedback! I think I'm going to start 20/4 for light and begin the fox farm nutrients at 1/4 dose schedule, every other watering. What do you think?

Hi @therivernile ! She looks healthy, at this stage I won't worry too much. The curled leaves might just came from a slight under-watering combined with heat. You may remove those useless leaves in a couple of days anyway. You won't encounter rootbound in a 5gal container. About nutrients, it's hard to say since you don't provide informations about the meals you prepared neither than the EC of your waterings, but this does not look like a deficiency/toxicity. I see you're doing 24h schedule, be warned that both plants+lamps appreciate a few hours of 'pause'. Plants recover better at night, and stopping the light a few hours everyday will help in cooling down your environment. In this scenario, I'd try to reinforce the airflow, change the light schedule to 22/2, spray fresh RO water at night when the light is off, water more often and see how it goes. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

@Stick, I have not fed any nutes at all thus far. It is planted directly into FFOF, so I am waiting until the plant indicates to me that it needs supplements. I am watering about 1/4gal of water every 36 hours. I water in a small perimeter around the plant. The pots are allowed to completely dry out (they feel dry on the top of the soil AND the bottom of the fabric on the smart pot) before I water again. That is such a sick idea about the misting with water. I actually already have a light timer plugged into the surge protector, but I decided on 24/0 as my first grow as an experiment. Where I live, it is very rare for the weather to have gotten as hot as it has. In another month, the outside temp will drop 30-40 degrees F. I think I'll be glad about this "heat problem" then. 😁 One more question if I could, you talk about removing those useless leaves. When do you start clipping away those large fan leaves? How many nodes into the plant do you think? My plants are at their 3rd node (first set of 7 finger leaves). I appreciate the shit out of your advice bro. Thanks again!

Hello !! She seems to be really good at that stage , maybe a slight over feeding but really slight Root bound is impossible at that stage and with that pot size , it will be hard to bget root bound even at the end of your flowering. Ican see fans & a light that is not too close from the top of the plants so heat sould not be an issue ! I hope it will help you for the futur weeks
