4/17 | Broke the main top on one of the girls 😲 A little tape to the rescue! I suppose that's to be expected my first time using HST. I now know to PINCH before bending to supercrop 😜 Runt looking sad. Probably watered too much. I pHd the water for a few days at this point to around 7.0 thinking I was seeing angry fan leaves. Filtered tap runs around 10.0, seemed scary high. Lots of predator mite activity in the soil. Got scared they were root aphids, researched, realized they were good guys, left them alone.
4/23 | Defoliated, Lollipopped and took my first clones. I don't plan on keeping them as I'm smoking less indica now, but wanted to go through the process for the experience. In retrospect as I upload these, I should take shorter ones next time.
In prep for flower, top dressed BAS schedule at rec'd amounts.
No idea what I'm doing with the trellis. Obviously.
4/30 | Flipped to flower.
5/1 | Made a PVC trellis frame. These girls vegged longer than I planned and I expected them to get pretty tall. They're around 15" at this point. Inherited a Green Crack plant from a growmie. Had a ton of fungus gnats in it, they turned out to be problematic later.
Turned lights up to 100% and set the height at 50 DLI on the tallest tops. Cleaned up lollipops and stripped most of the lower leaves below the trellis and any blocking bud sites. Foliar sprayed EM-5 at lights out.
5/14 | Lots of tops poppin 2 weeks in. Feels like too many. I worry about crowding and larf in the future. Top dressed BAS schedule flower wk 1-4 at rec'd amount.
5/22 | Only had this one photo from week 3 of flower. Noticed some of the tops look burnt, thought it might have been from the EM-5 foliar spray the previous week. All 3 plants had stretching about a foot at this point, the runt catching up considerably in comparison to the height variance in late veg.
5/29 | Hoping the stretch is finally done. A few tops put on almost 18" in the last 4 weeks. A couple of the girls are showing yellowing leaves near the bottom of the canopy. Might go heavier on the craft blend during stretch next round.
Top dressed BAS flower wk 5-8 at rec'd amount. Gave them a compost tea a few days later and removed yellow leaves w/ necrosis.
6/8 | Feeling good about myself this morning and how the phenos are really showing their unique traits. I take note that #2 looks much denser than the others. Removed some small larfy branches and popkern buds.
6/10 | Doing my morning routine w/ the girls and I notice what looks like GREEN F*ING SEEDS in #2. I'm stumped; flabbergasted really, at how my plants have been pollinated and I have been oblivious to it. My growmie says "it's a growth dude", but I'm not convinced. I've seen zero nanners and can't figure it out unless they came in on the Green Crack i inherited for a week then gave back lol. The runt and #1 don't seem to have any visible seeds or calyx that feel hard, so I guess I'll ride it out and see what comes out the other side. On one hand, if the seeds are viable and this is good smoke then I suppose it's a win. I'm concerned with how sterile the tent will need to be for everything after this. And are the four fans I run going to just be blowing pollen bits on every lady after this that spreads her goodies? 😨😵
6/11 | Ending week 6 in flower. I don't smell it, but everyone says the whole house smells like dank week 😲. I thought the carbon filter was doing a good job 🤷♂️. Watered in BAS schedule flower wk 5-8. Little heavier watering today, 1/2 gal per pot. Still concerned about seeds in #2. Going to cruise over to the local grow shop and see what they think about it.
