After a very relaxing vacation, the buckets are bubbling again. I'm digging back into my seed stash to take another crack at growing the super tasty, Pineapple Skunk. I had a few issues growing her previously and hope to make a better go of it this time around. When I grew her last time, she topped out at about 28" which is a perfect height for this small tent, but she wasn't a huge producer. I'll be growing two plants this time around to maximize my yield potential - did I mention this strain is super tasty? Soaked the beans overnight in distilled water and then put her into a peat pellet in a germination tray with PH balanced water (sitting on heat mat). Sprouts popped within 48 hours. Roots started showing through pellet on day 7 and I moved sprouts into a 5 gallon DWC bucket. Top feedings for the next few days until they get established. A bud with a very complex flavor profile, this indica-leaning hybrid is a cross between Pineapple, Skunk, and rare pure 100% indica we like to keep secret. Pineapple Skunk’s is one of those tangy, tropical smokes. Her flowers give off the unmistakable scent of tropical citrus, with some accents of pineapple. THC levels on this one have been measured between 24% and 27%. Genetics: Pineapple x Skunk x Rare 100% Indica Type: Feminized Cultivation: Indoor/outdoor 80% Indica / 20% Sativa Flowering Time: 52 - 57 days Bring on the yum. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

Both Pineapple Skunk plants are doing well. PS#2 was the first seed to sprout and is a little lankier at this point. Roots have broken through the basket for both plants, but PS#1 has quite vigorous root development compared to PS#2. Interesting. Still rocking the same light dose of nutes in the buckets that we started with a week ago and it will probably be another week before we do a rez change. More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

The Pineapple Skunks are growing well. Growth has really accelerated over the past week with leaves and roots on both plants looking strong and healthy. PS #1 has a wider stature, larger leaves, and nodes are tighter together. PS #2 is slightly taller. PH/EC was pretty stable throughout the week with both plants feeding well. Rez change today with a slight increase in feed, running at about .7 EC. She looked ready for a FIM so I gave her a pinch. We'll give them a couple of weeks to recover and flip the lights to flower by the end of week 4. More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

The Pineapple Skunk is doing well. PS #1 is growing especially well and looks fantastic. PS #2 is smaller and growing very ball shaped with her leaves tucking inwards. I know which one I’d clone if I were a cloning man. Did some defoliation a few days after last weeks FIMing and new growth already setting in. PH has ranged 5.9-6.2 through the week; EC .3-.4. Rez change today with another bump in nutes. More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

The Pineapple Skunk is growing pretty well. PS #1 has some rusting on the leaves which I suspect could be a phosphorus deficiency. I changed her rez yesterday and started flowering nutes so that should take care of that if I'm right; I flipped the lights to 12/12 as well. PS #2 is a couple of inches shorter but is growing good. I did another bout of light defoliation a few days ago and and both plants quickly filled back in. I'll likely get them into the ScrOG later this week. More news next week. The Pineapple Skunk is looking pretty good as move into flower. I employed the ScrOG net right after last week's update and the two plants are filling it out nicely. PS #1 is about 4" taller and I may have to boost #2 to even out the canopy. We'll see how things go through the stretch. EC has been be running between 1.2-1.4. Both plants have been feeding well. PH has been anywhere from 5.8 - 6.3; typically she'll be between 5.9/6.1 👍 Looking forward to the stretch and watching the tent get fuller. 👀 More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

The Pineapple Skunk is doing alright for the most part. PS #1 is still showing signs of a calcium deficiency or something. She's been consuming the nutes pretty hard so maybe she just needs more. EC was at 1.4 (700 PPM) at the beginning of the week and has been down as low as 1.0 (520 PPM). PH has ranged from 6-6.3. PS #2 is a few inches smaller and is looking a bit better as far as he leaves go. Her EC has been pretty steady all week, between 1.2-1.3 (600-620 PPM) with PH running 6-6.2. Flowers are happening and the two plants have filled up the tent pretty nicely. So far no crazy stretching which suits me just fine. PS #1 is about 24" tall at this point and PS #2 is around 21". I did a bit of pruning and cut some of the lower branches away on both plants. I'll do more maintenance once the stretch is over. More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

Things are looking a bit messy in the Pineapple Skunk tent. Both plants are having issues. PS #1's apparent phosphorus deficiency is not improving and PS #2 is starting to have issues as well. Today I decided to hit the reset switch and give both plants a 24 hour plain water flush. Hopefully, I can get this train back on the tracks 🤞 More news next week. Thanks for tuning in. ✌️

A lot of scar tissue in the Pineapple Skunk tent as a result of the previous issues but the girls are moving along. Buds are getting plumper and stickier with a strong scent of pine. Just want to get to the finish line on this one. More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

The Pineapple Skunk is limping along. Her bud development is certainly suffering as a result of her previous issues; especially on left side of tent. Be that as it may, she's fragrant and sticky - very piney. Looking forward to putting this one behind me and moving on. A couple of more weeks. More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

This grow was a tough one. Second time growing this strain and it didn't get any better this time around. Deficiencies and environmental issues took their toll. I'll take another swing at her another time.

is it hotter on that side of the tent or she just didn't like what you were giving it?

@StunFlower, Oh it's not so bad. The buds look great still. The app is called PPFD meter. Migro on youtube tests lights with an expensive PAR meter (I think it's called) and said this app is within a few %. It also depends on your phone of course, but I found it to be good to identify hot spots in the tent and stuff. It's recommended to have ur PPFD no more than 1k for flower with no CO2.

@Oozle, I'm really not sure what's going on. I added an extra light in this tent (2 x 150) and I'm wondering if it's not all too much - light and heat - thus spawning the deficiencies. I should really take a light measurement and see what's going on in there. What app is it you use to measure PAR in your tents? I've since dialled both lights down to about 60% but too late I'm afraid. I've really made a mess of this one. 🙈

@StunFlower, 😂finding random plants. Awesome you are going to try and grow them out rather then just culling them. Fill the land up with cannabis plants, I'm all for it haha.

@Oozle, Thanks buddy. I've got another plant in the wings almost ready for transplant and my daughter apparently has some mystery plants she found growing in her yard that she is going to pass on to me - some cannabis version of Johnny Appleseed must have been sowing seeds in her area 😂 I have low expectations on this front but we'll see what comes of it.

Do LST instead of topping. It's much less stress and you can achieve way more colas . Bend main cola to open bud sites then bend them and keep plant low. 2-3 weeks in veg and flip to flower. 2.3gramm per watt easy peasy

@StunFlower, Go for it, mate!. FIM good as well. I grew one plant FIM + LST = out of control and buds like a donkey dick (Birney's Farm Critical Kush)

StunFlowercommented3 years ago
@@CDF20, Yes, I know you're right, I really should. I may do one plant LST and FIM the other for the sake of comparison 🧐

@LegacyMarketFarm, 😂 I'll keep the batteries stocked up. I don't have a dedicated PAR meter but recently started using an app on my phone - not sure how accurate it is.
StunFlower
StunFlowercommented2 years ago
@LegacyMarketFarm, There was some funkiness on the lower leaves starting to appear during week 3 of veg and then you can start to see spotting on the upper leaves beginning around the week 2 of flower.

@StunFlower, Also, Rule of thumb I got burned into my brain running the big 200 lighter facility I have the diary of, Was if you arent going through at least 1 set of batteries in your PAR meter & your therm laser temp gun per crop, You arent using them enough.
