Hello everyone 0/
The previous crop is dried, moved to banks and-and-and it's time to start a new report. Yes, I don't like to pull, it's interesting to try to grow something new and then try it yourself.
This time grow tasks are as follows:
1. Grow a photoperiod strain with a full growing season. Since even though I was satisfied with the last harvest, but the potential of the plant, even in terms of the size of my tent, was not fully disclosed. I want to grow something in the spirit and height of the Rock Machine raised earlier, repeating and preferably breaking the record. And I just want to understand how much time it is necessary to give a normal photoperiod strain for vegetation in order to occupy an adequate maximum of useful space.
2. It's time to grow an evening indica again in order to get an absolute evening smoke - to smoke, to detach yourself from the world first, and then just fall asleep.
After digging into the stocks of nuts, I brought out a variety that, according to the description and the number of awards won, should definitely give me pleasure, starting from the growe and ending with a smoke.
Let's go (*0*)/
Description and characteristics of the variety
Sensi Star is a recognized star in the Cannes community. In 1999, this marijuana with 90% indica and 10% sativa managed to win two cups at once: High Life and High Times Cup. Since then, in total, she has received more than 15 awards and hemp cups, as well as the boundless love of connoisseurs.
Sensi Star is a variety with a minimum of branches, fan foliage and record resinous inflorescences. The cones smell sharp, but pleasant: citrus and mint are successfully combined with needles and metal. There is a piquant sweetness in the taste. Immediately after tasting comes a powerful stone effect, sending the body into total relaxation. Some catch a hint of an inspiring high.
At the end of the exposure, you will definitely want to raid the refrigerator and go to watch sweet dreams.
07.06.2022
Start day.
In the evening I realized that it was time to start.
Everything is according to the usual scheme - 200 ml of water + 0.5 ml of Diamond Nectar + 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide (this time it came out more)
And at 11 o'clock the nut went to surf the "seas" saturated with oxygen and stimulant
08.06.2022
The day of awakening.
After 11 hours, I took 2 cotton pads, soaked them with water in which the nut had been floating before, and squeezed it to the desired humidity (so that it was raw, but the water did not drain if held vertically). And then he placed the Star between the disks.
After 12 hours, returning home, I visited the star and the nut had already burst. Inspires, it's time to plant in a day
09.06.2022
Day of disembarkation.
After 24 hours, the preparation began - I cleaned the awning a little, washed the stands, replaced the old coco with a new one. It turned out 8 liters of coco and 1 liter of perlite, for the summer it is better to have less airiness.
I filled the coco according to the usual scheme:
1.0 L water (130 ppm) + 20 ml (10 A + 10 V) +5 ml Cal Mag= 2700 pm / 6.0 pH;
I poured 200 ml of water into the landing place + 2 ml Voodoo+ 2 ml Canna Rhizotonic + Great White (in the hole for seeds);
And I took the seed out of the cotton pads, in my thoughts already expecting a fight with the root embedded in the cotton, but, apparently, I'm telling myself in vain, for the third growe there are no unforeseen situations, everything is verified.
10.06.2022
Germination day.
The root has definitely gone into the substrate and now the stem has already begun to fill up with strength. The star is still lying on the ground, counting down to the beginning of the first day.
11.06.2022 Day 1
In the morning, the sprout was still in the shell and tilted on its side. After 3 hours, he straightened up, and I helped him a little, took off the husk with tweezers. There was a film left on one of the cotyledons - at the beginning he did not want to detach himself, but during the day he dropped water on it a couple of times and then carefully removed it too.
Now we can safely say that this will be the first day, the Star has bitten into the substrate, I am preparing to observe one of the most interesting periods - early vegetation. And it is interesting because every day progress will be very noticeable to the naked eye.
Prepare the popcorn, gentlemen
12.06.2022 Day 2
And the days flew ...
the second day of development began, the leaves of the Star grew a little.
I noticed that the seed itself was smaller than the average size, and the sprout also came out small. Hmm, I'll see how
things go further in terms of growth. On the other hand, the presence of dynamics is the surest and best sign, and we will have time to catch up with the size.
13.06.2022 Day 3
The flight goes according to plan, the only thing this time is that the filter is not attached to the duct fan and because of the force of the hood, the coconut clearly dries faster.
Tomorrow there will be the first top-up / watering - I will look at the situation.
Since there are questions about the grove, I will immediately write down the position on determining the time of the first watering. The very first hinting factor is that the top layer of coconut is clearly constantly drying out (in the photo, coco "cheered up" with a spray gun to raise humidity), and the second, 1.2 liters of water was poured during the initial watering, which is not enough to fully fill the substrate. Now, as soon as the root reaches the bottom (everything is verified here, 200 ml of water poured into the landing point when charging was given drainage, which means that the coconut is raw to the very bottom in this place), active searches for water and root growth to the sides will begin, so it's worth moistening the entire volume of coconut well, since for the root, a dry area = a barrier, and we don't need barriers.
In appearance, the yellow tips of the leaves that were slightly straining me disappeared from the sprout. And the leaves stretching upwards hint at a good turgor (water pressure), which means that internal processes proceed according to plan, the Star is happy, everything is high for her.
14.06.2022 Day 4
Summer has come to the city and with it the watering time. I lifted the pot in my hands, poked my finger into the coconut - it will be a little dry, full watering is needed. After watering, a glass of water flowed into the drainage, now you can be sure that the coconut is completely saturated with moisture. The released ppm also showed that the starting charge as a whole was not so strong, and it will be possible to water fertilizers, as planned, in about a week and a half.
The apartment has 35% humidity, we pass through the minimum, but we can do better, so I brought a humidifier and raised the humidity to 47% so that the little one gets high in full. The question of the temperature, as planned, was solved by setting the timer for the day mode from 17:00 to 11:00, i.e. in the heat in the box, the temperature is like in an apartment, which is about 3-4 degrees lower than the street, which is quite acceptable.
The star is still continuing its development, not particularly increasing in size. In the photo, you can already notice a hint of the second floor of the leaves, continuing to actively stretch the leaves upwards. The sprout itself does not stretch much, despite the included Far Red - hooray, I do not regret the plant in this grove, I give enough light from the very first day. Of course, you can't do without natural stretching, so I sprinkled coconut on the open trunk of the plant to the maximum - the more roots, the more tops
15.06.2022 Day 5
Judging by the leaves and stretching, yesterday's watering was beneficial. I added a little more light, otherwise the Star somehow stretched out abruptly during the day. In any case, upward growth is not downward growth, so we can only rejoice at the fact of rapid development.
Otherwise, the humidifier works during the light phase, at night and without it well, in general, due to a kind of light mode, a constant temperature of +25-27 and humidity of 40-45 comes out%
The leaves grow wide , it is immediately clear, indica 🌿
16.06.2022 Day 6
That's it, 5 days have passed without jokes and today we arrived. Today something happened and the Wi-Fi timer decided to go into hibernation, fixed it quickly, but the fact that the timer was turned off was discovered after 3 hours of darkness instead of the morning. There is nothing terrible, of course, in this, just as a fact that no growe is complete without surprises.
The plant stretches itself and joyfully pulls the leaves to the light, now the second pair of leaves has peeked out. And as for the stretching of the Star itself, I decided to add more light so that I would not think of stretching too much
In any case, the case is moving
17.06.2022 Day 7
With such a temperature outside, you can switch to daily watering from early vegetation, but for now I still plan to water every 2-3 days.
The star is growing-developing, the leaves are growing, I have added a little more light.
Everything looks fine, now the coconut is also full of organic food - let's see what the Star will say tomorrow.
17.06.2022 Day 7
Summer in combination with a duct fan that now works without a filter (i.e. the fan has not reduced efficiency, unlike the flowering stage, where the filter attached to the fan reduces productivity by about 30%). coconut is dried very much and two days later it needs to be watered again. So it is quite possible to transfer the plant to daily watering from the early growing season, but for now I still plan to water it every 2-3 days.
The Star is growing-developing, the leaves are growing, I have added a little more light.
Everything looks fine, now the coconut is also full of organic food - let's see what the Star will say tomorrow.
06/18/2022 Day 8
All day it rains, then the sun, humidity and temperature do not reach the level of the tropics only because of the constant wind, so the humidity in the tent is increased today and the humidifier decided not to turn on.
The Star is growing - not in a hurry, new leaves are climbing and well.
The light was adjusted correctly, apparently, the plant stopped stretching.
21.06.2022 Day 11
Yesterday I decided to water and after watering according to the old cheat sheet, I realized that the pH- is clearly not enough. Good. I topped up the pH- (acid, that is), measured the pH again and ... the color of the liquid at the level of 4 pH. Wow, I add 1 ml of pH + because I don't remember how much it needs. Measured the pH color at 8.0 :D
Carefully added the pH- and left the liquid at 6.3 pH.
Today, looking into the tent, I was convinced that my actions yesterday were noticed and met with dissatisfaction - the Star began to twist the lower leaves (although sometimes it is not clear for what reason this happens and passes by itself, and judging by the photo of the 10th day, already at this stage the plant did not like something).
Otherwise, the growth continues day by day, it does not stretch much, I do not touch the light.
Judging by the drainage, we will still be feeding on the starting charge for a week, and then it will be possible to water with a nutrient solution.
23.06.2022 Day 13
Not to say that it is fast, not to say that it is slow - the most important thing is moving.
Yesterday I conjured over the pH of the irrigation solution again, this time with less unnecessary movements. The theory of past records has collided with reality and proportions need to be corrected again.
Otherwise, everything is fine - new leaves are climbing, and the size, judging by how I move the camera further and further away in order to take a photo, is definitely increasing.
There's not much to do with the Star yet (it's too early for training), so I'm just waiting for an active vegetation to feel not only with my eyes, but also with my hands (LST, garters, all other workouts)
Day 15
So two weeks of vegetation have passed under the light mode 18/6. It looks like the heat is coming, not only in terms of the temperature outside the window, but in terms of the fact that the Star is getting bigger and will soon actively increase the green mass and eat.
The lower leaves are dissatisfied with something, the upper ones like everything and new ones climb and climb. In general, so far everything is going briskly and green.
Day 19
In 4 days, the Star has grown quite well in size, showing broad leaves characteristic of indica. It's been a long time since I've had such in the tent.
My hands are itching, so I started LST, although it's a little early. In any case, the Star is a photoperiod strain and will forgive all bullying (in any case, if necessary, the vegetation can be extended).
The light is on full, today I decided to feed a little fertilizers, an active zhor will clearly begin soon.
02.07.2022 Day 22
I'm switching to daily watering and now I have to find out the appetites of the plant. It is unlikely that there will be daily watering only with nutrients (according to the needs of the plant), but calcium deficiency has habitually appeared on the lower leaves. Therefore, I will add Cal Mag until it is restored.
I continue LST and today I made a mistake. Stretching the shoots, I noticed that one (which was smaller than the others) broke off at the very base by 80%. I stuck it in place with duct tape as best I could, let's see if it will survive or not (in the photo it has a wilted leaf). Even if not, nothing critical - everything will be occupied in the tent anyway, I have no doubt.
08.07.2022 Day 28
Over the past week, the heat has only intensified and the temperature in the tent has reached an indecent 32 degrees. I brought a fan and lowered the temperature to 30 degrees, too high, but tolerable. The humidity ranges from 45 to 55%, which is quite normal.
Meanwhile, the Star has been at the vegetation stage for almost a month, and at the moment I do not plan to transfer it to flowering yet, but it will be soon, more than half of the vegetation stage has definitely passed.
I have almost finished LST now. He started very aggressively - what did not bend, then broke, then wrapped with duct tape and bent by 90 grams with fixators (there are 2 such shoots). After the injury of the latter, I became a little more careful, and then one of the corners had to be manually filled with shoots, because a bald spot formed. That's what I was doing today - spreading branches on the right sides. Now, in my opinion, everything is growing in more or less the right positions, I want to give the plant time to move away from the constant LST and start stretching upwards, after that I will calmly transfer to flowering.
I'm still guessing the nutrition, the plant does not eat very willingly, but the size of the bush itself is small.
Traces of burns from nutrient solution hits are visible on the leaves, tk "skrog" from rubber bands and leaves does not help simplify watering.
Otherwise, the Star has a healthy, green color of leaves, the coming shortage of Kalmag has been eliminated, now I will feed it with a nutrient solution.
Speaking about the smell - filter while, of course, it makes no sense to attach, but if you touch the leaf carefully, the smell will remain on your hands. It smells like a classic, but there is something else that adds aggression and hints that before the flowering, the filter will need to be attached without fail.
Day 31
Over the past 3 days, I have not touched the Star and it clearly went on the attack on the tent. Only today perfectionism overcame me and I still bent the three most brazen shoots so that all the shoots were in the same plane.
And in general, a good bush is being formed, most likely another week of vegetation and it is already possible to transfer to flowering. In terms of the time of translation, there is a certain point in the tent, to which, in my opinion, the bush on the vega should grow in order to give the maximum of what this space is capable of during flowering.
Despite the heat, the plant feels cheerful, the fan does not work in vain (knocks down the temperature).
Day 35
The last four days have been quite progressive for the Star, but about everything in the chronology of events.
The first couple of days I still bent the fastest shoots, but then I got tired and decided that let the strongest grow, and during pruning I will cut off all outsiders (alas, a necessary measure for the formation of appetizing buds, and there is not enough space under the "sun" for everyone).
After a month of development, the appetite of the plant jumped and continues to grow. While I will increase the amount of Grow A+B in the nutrient solution by milliliter, yesterday the output ppm was quite low, today the Star ate even more nutrients and asked for supplements.
In addition to increasing appetite, the growth rate has also increased, the star grows in height on average 3 cm per day (at the moment the height of the plant is 30-32 cm), so there will soon be a transfer to flowering.
Today there was another event. A month has passed and, as expected, the Star has shown the floor - there are no surprises here, the antennae stick out in their proper places.
So far, everything is going according to the standard and I am quite happy with the progress and condition of the plant at the moment.
It is growing very fast, it is very interesting what will happen next...
This week I carried out the first stage of defoliation, removing all the excess - now all the nutrients will go only to the right places.
Another week has passed and the first month is coming to an end since the light was changed from 18/6 to 12/12 (11.5 hours of main light + 30 minutes of pure Far Red).
The top floor is a little jarring because of the temperature, but there is nothing to fix it - it all depends on the temperature outside (and when I myself melt in the room like ice cream, I don't think you can make it cool under the lamp). Plus, this time the stretching of the plant turned out to be strong enough and the lamp is exactly at the same level so as not to burn out the chlorophyll on the tops of the buds. The appearance of fox tails is possible, but to be honest, apart from aesthetics, I did not understand what they are bad about - it seems that all the buds are curled well.
But this is still just my guess, and at the moment the Star is overgrown with leaves again, the light penetrates downwards not so confidently, in 2-3 weeks there will be a second defoliation.
I will not cut the bottom for sure - there is nothing superfluous left, and at the moment what is there compared to the tops does not look so impressive. On the other hand, these shoots appeared much later than the tops and they have every chance of becoming a good small bud.
I live from weekend to weekend, so during the week I mostly water, or if I no longer have the strength, sometimes I skip watering. But now I try not to relax too much - there is an active flowering, the plant needs food.
Meanwhile, half of the flowering has already passed, so today I took care of optimizing and modifying the space.
First of all, I raised the lamp to the maximum height. That's it, now the tops of the plant should not burn out, otherwise I missed a moment here during the week and, hello, the white tops - chlorophyll burned out. In the process, the fan for blowing was touched and it successfully collapsed down, burying a couple of side shoots under it. In general, nothing terrible, but one of the shoots had to be splinted with toothpicks and duct tape.
The second action was defoliation. Yes, finally the hands got to the scissors and gave the lower parts of the plant the desired light instead of the usual twilight. During the haircut, I was once again convinced of the truthfulness of the description of the variety in terms of smell, since in addition to the classic smell, the notes of metal are very noticeable (something similar if you hold your hand on steel and then smell it). On the other hand, the promised lemon shade does not smell yet, and it does not matter much, because the smell of metal from the buds is already something new.
Third, after I cut the leaves, sniffed my hands and was convinced of the aggressiveness of the smell, I still brought a carbon filter. In general, it is possible without it, but some background smell is already slightly in the air, I will not wait for it to become stronger. Since the lamp is hanging near the ceiling of the awning, I have already habitually brought the entire ventilation system outside.
Fourth, my tent is not large in size, so 150 watts of LED over the tops in the summer created a hellish inferno. When the temperature one day jumped to 30 in the evening (and 34 in the tent at the tops), I turned off the boosters and sent the idea for recycling. The result was the placement of boosters in the lower half of the tent to the light of the bottoms. That's it, now I have surrounded the Star from all sides with light, I wonder what will come of it.
And fifth, I tied up all the shoots again, because the tops are swelling actively and already need support. When you have free time and your hands are itching, it's time for innovation. This time, the whole point came down to the creation of some kind of a ScrOG, which now performs the following functions:
1. Support of the plant frame, since the thickest stems have already begun to move into diagonal growth due to swelling inflorescences;
2. The distribution of shoots is more or less evenly throughout the horizontal space, so that the light now reaches all the shoots, even taking into account the fact that the leaves will grow back (although in the second half of flowering, the build-up of the green mass is much slower than at the same pre-flowering);
3. Harvest will be in the fall, so I already assume high humidity and it will be much better to have free space between the buds than one stuck brick, which attracts mold with its mass and windability. Fixing in cells, I think, will perfectly cope with this task.
Finally, the next intriguing stage has begun - the swelling of the inflorescences, you can already start swallowing, licking and pumping the Star with phosphorus and potassium to form fat rockets. At least I hope that they will be fat, because I did everything I could, and there are prerequisites, since the shoots are already getting heavy from the mass of swelling inflorescences.
More than half of the flowering has passed. There is a little less than a month left before the expected harvest. The plant does not feed so actively anymore, I try to find the right concentration, but judging by the slightly burnt tips of the leaves, I still overfed a little. Although the Star is indica (which tends to have a greater appetite than sativa), it turned out to be quite sensitive to overdoses.
Flowering continues, but now it is closer to the finish line.
The buds continue to gain mass, there are more and more dried stigmas. Trichomes are already getting closer to milk ones, and on the leaves there are already amber-colored ones.
Unfortunately, on the 93rd day from the beginning of the cycle, mold attacked the bush and we had to make a harvest earlier than expected
In general, I enjoyed the process, but was somewhat dissatisfied with the outcome due to the mold that appeared. But this harvest was successful not in quantity, but in quality. Recently, a friend came who smokes 2 bowls of bong. This time he smoked one and said "That's enough, very powerful"
