9/19 Reservoir change back right has a ton of new growth in the roots so a good sign of recovery.
9/20 Back right is drinking a slight bit more but nothing compared to the other two.
9/22 Topped off reservoirs with tap water & did the daily adjusting off the PH's to 5.8. Smells dank in there!
9/23 Adjusted tent intake to be straight from AC. Light wattage increased to 1000. Better late than never!
9/24 Temperatures have essentially not changed at all. The AC intake balances out the temperature increase of the 1000w.
9/25 Added more water. They are drinking quite a bit. Temperatures are controlled with ac running. They are starting to fatten up.
This Week was full of good growth and the added light over the next couple weeks should prove to be worth it.

| 🌡️️🌑 68 - 78 |
10/03 Reservoir swap for 2 plants and the beginning of a flush for one! Debating a staggered harvest
10/04 Water Phed to 5.6. The temperatures have been looking surprisingly well.
10/05 The 2 plant with nutrients still have slowed down there water consumption. Still debating on how long I will give them.
10/06 Reservoir refills + Water Phed. The Flushing plant is fading because of the lack of nutrients so we will pull her over the next few days.
10/07 Phed them although they seem pretty stable. A non flushing plant is starting to fade so I going to be flushing her soon.
10/08 Seems like they are finishing smoothly. Trichomes are perfect on the flushing plant and Just starting to fog up on the other.
10/09 Harvested The Flushing plant! Shes so sticky! Phed the remaining two plants!
I cant get over their smell its insanely strong. The lavender color is taking over the tent! and it looks amazing with the crystals 😍
| 📅 Week 13 | 10/10 - 10/16
| 💡 1000w 📏32' |
| 🌡️️🌞 76- 84 |
| 🌡️️🌑 68 - 75 |
10/10 Started the flush on one of the remaining two plants. Phed reservoirs to 5.8
10/11 Trichomes are are getting near half cloudy, no signs of amber yet. Phed to 5.6
10/12 Water added and Phed to 5.8 Trimming finished on chopped plant that's drying.
10/13 Adjusted Ph to 6.0 and topped of the reservoirs. Harvested plant will be drying for another day or two.
10/14 PH was really low on the Flushing plant. Adjusted it to 6.2. The other plant had its reservoir topped and PH set to 5.8.
10/15 Started the flush on the final plant. Will probably do a shorter flush this time and test the difference. I think a week in DWC feels long.
10/16 Reservoirs topped and PH adjusted to 5.6. Flush started on the Final plant 😎 Extremely excited for the smoke review of these badgirls.
So far so good! Two of Three plants remain.
One of them has less mature trichomes the other is coming down any day now.
These plants are amazing to handle. You can Smell that these girls are not playing around one bit.

10/17 The second plant was chopped and is hanging upside down for the drying. Final plant reservoir PH adjusted to 5.8 and topped off.
10/18 Reservoir topped and adjusted to 5.6. Trichomes are perfect for harvest now so we will pull her tomorrow for dying.
10/19 Chopped the final plant and placed upside down for drying. This strain is one of the more powerful smelling ones for sure.
10/20 Trimmed a few buds for pictures and added video. Cleaned the tent nice and good. The drying is on target and going well.
10/25 Fantastic plant and getting danker as she cures. Drying is done and trimming was just finished up!
The next Update will be the Harvest with a Grow/Smoke review and final weight so stay tuned! ᴴᶦᵗ ᶠᵒˡˡᵒʷ 😎
Granddaddy Purple by Ken Estes

「 STRAIN REVIEW 」
SEE/SMELL/SMOKE | 9.2/10
There is no need to label these jars, because Ken's award winning Granddaddy Purple speaks for itself once again. The smell has a certain weight to it that lets you know its about to lock you to the couch. The deep purple on the leaves and buds compliment the layer of overcrowded Tricomes. This is one of the best strains out there if you are going for the 'bag appeal'. The fruity taste and smell are quite pungent and is very distinctive when compared to other buds from its lineage. With a very harsh smell you will be surprised at how smooth this strain takes to being inhaled. All smoke tests are done through a Bong & bowl.
HIGH | 9.5/10
One of the most potent highs I'v experienced in a long time. This nighttime strain is perfect for those fighting against insomnia or a pain related illness.
With fast hitting body euphoria and a severe couch-lock feel that is unparalleled be sure to take care of your obligations before smoking this one! This strain is not to be used as a Daily smoker unless dealing with chronic pain or something of the sort, because mentally it dulls you very significantly.

「 GROW REVIEW 」
BUDS/YIELD | 8/10
In terms of Yield this cycle it was above final expectations, but below what was expected from germination. This was due to many factors. Some of those factors are a decrease in plant count and a mutated plant. I am extremely pleased with the bud quality of these genetics and the yield was quite acceptable.
GROWTH | 8/10
The growth of this Ken Estes GDP was explosive and in bursts. It was clear that aeration around bud sites and roots played a primary factor this in grow. The smell came very early in the growth while the purple phenotypes didn't display until late
ROOTS | 7.5/10
The roots reacted a lot with the environment at every step. They really enjoy temperatures to stay steady without much difference between reservoir swaps. Without the constant use of Hydroguard root rot was developed on a single plant and a slow turnaround rate impacted her final yield. Overall the roots did fine in a DWC environment, however constant use of Hydrogaurd is recommended.

I am very please with the results of this grow and look forward to doing this strain again sometimes in the future!
There are Some major things I would do differently a second time around, but nothing too critical.
Please feel free to leave behind any suggestions or things you would like to see done in a future diary of mine! Anything from strains to lights and setup, just feel free to ask!
This strain was a beauty to grow and I am very pleased with the results. I am doing a Blackberry by Fastbuds in my next diary, but after that I'm open so feel free to suggest a strain. I am looking for more colorful strains like this one 😎

Wow, amazing job. When you say you used trimmings for hash, was there buds in there? How much weight would you say was in the bags. How much dry ice did you use? 1lb or 5lb bags? I'm asking cause I failed my first has attempt with 1lb bags and just ice and water, I think I got only 2 grams off over an ounce of popcorn. Was your trim dried out, ground up or ?
@BeefWellingtons, Ah sorry I was misunderstanding the question. To be clear, I use a 5 gallon bucket with a 5 gallon bubble bag placed over-top then I flip the bucket over and shake the keif out.
I do plan on making longer form videos on my Youtube channel including a how to on the Dry Ice hash. So far I just have some shorter videos on it, but once I get a quality microphone ill be able to upload longer form tutorials and explain things for the channel.

@HighTV, lol, I meant 1 gallon or 5 gallon. (I have the 1 gallon)..gotcha. Wow, leaf trim huh. That's awesome, what a save from something that people used to toss out. I've never seen that much kief get processed out of a bag, that was impressive! I was like, holy crap, that guy needs a bulldozer! Thanks for the quick update btw. And your videos rock out! You should do a YouTube video of the kief making...I did check, lol. You are an inspiration bro.
@HighTV, I have been wanting to try it. Bubblebags get exhausting! For sure gonna see if I can get it locally if I can then will run some tomorrow. For sure.
@BigDaddyK, I have been using the stand it comes with to hold it and I have been slightly adjusting it with my hands. Its focus goes all the way to 1000x if you can get it close enough to the buds, but I only use it around 100x so the video looks better 😎
Thanks for stopping by Big!
For the Trichome shots I used a USB microscope from amazon that I linked below. Its not the best, but for $20 it gets the job done for sure! 😊

@Fungal79, Thanks! I cant stop hanging out with them. They are a pleasure to smell and smoke around- a very therapeutic strain. The Crystals look like they are stacking on each other. 😍
@Scientistofthedank2003, Hes the creator of the original GDP strain. His genetics can be found around mid California. I was fortunate enough to get some cuts of this beauty at a local dispensary in Sacramento. 😎
@HighTV,
Definatly in my top 3 strains i want to grow asap ...got the fem beans waiting.
Top 3 are ...GDP- Poon Tang Pie - Lemon Zkittles.
Btw Big Congrats on winning the cup! 👍
@HighTV, I hope it does, and I know about the late flower. It looks like some of the leaves are already turning a little, but it could just be my eyes. Lol
@HighTV, no doubt. I’m not even in flower yet and as soon as you open the tent you get this great weedy freshness smell that’s so intoxicating, I can’t imagine what yours smells like. Im excited for the flip.
Very cool ! I will follow this till the end i wanna see all these lady's grown up with that kick ass medicine ! Btw are you actually art of Cloud 9 gaming ?
@MaryJaneUSA, I used put the trimmings and leaf material into a bubblebag with dry ice and sifted the kief out! I used 3 different size bubble bags for different grades of kief 😎
Thanks Wachsemilian! I was very pleased with this harvest. Next time I find a cut of this around here I think i'm going to make a mother out of her haha 😇
@VanWilder, I feel like the purple was unstoppable I didn't take the temperatures to low or anything it was consistently around 78-82. Just really good genetics by Ken Estes! 😋
@BlazedSaiyan, This specific phenotype is known as "Ken's Granddaddy Purple (I)". It was phenohunted by Ken Estes, the creator of the original GDP! I was lucky enough to find a cut of it here in CA 😎
