Starting off my Journal for the Best Diary Contest for Ganja Farmer Seeds. Ganja Gelato Auto. Placed 3 seeds in water to soak for 6 hours or so, all three seeds sank, planted directly into substrate July 10, 2022. Let’s Grow! ❤️🇨🇦😎💨
Week 1 - slow start, but seemed to
Bounce back. Starting in small pots as opposed to my usual direct to substrate with Autoflowers. No nutrients yet, just ❤️
1 didn’t make it… 😔 That’s ok folks, two seem to be doing well, but could probably start to get some sort of nutrients going… I’m starting this run with the Bonnie and Clyde Autoflower specific nutrient line by Cronk Nutrients. I’ve seen some great results 🤞
The two girls seem to be doing all right, my humidifier had quit working overnight, and the girls got a bit dried out, but are bouncing back nicely. Picked you some AC infinity square 2 gallon pots and transplanted the ladies third week. Mixed 2 mls of Bonnie into 1 gallon of water and they seem to have responded ok. Happy growing 😎❤️🌱🇨🇦
Big boost in health and height this week. Added the Advanced Nutrients Sensi Cal/Mag Extra to the mix, along with the Bonnie from Cronk Nutrients.
Started with some LST, just ties and wires and some leaf tucking. They have recovered nicely and are loving their environment. High humidity, between 60-70% at times and temperature hovering between 78-81 degrees for the most part.
I’ve started my basic IPM procedures again, 1 deep clean and wipe down of the tent and surrounding area weekly, with various oils and sprays around the tent and pots. I have not had a single pest issue growing in my basement, preventative measures people, it works! 🤪 Constant air flow in your lung room helps as well, keeps the critters from setting up shop. In addition, I keep my soil in a Rubbermaid tote in that same room allowing the air flow from the fan to constantly being drying it out before it’s ready to be used. Takes some planning, but ensures you won’t get gnats from wet soil 👊 just a few tips Growmie’s, happy growing 🇨🇦❤️🌱😎💨
Girls have been great this week, no problems. Still watering very sparingly, low on the nutrients, these Cronk nutrients are packed as I have only been using 2 mls mixed in a gallon. Going to be moving them over to my big tent this week as my last harvest of the garlic cookies are curing in jars now! Mmmmm Happy Growing 🇨🇦❤️🌱😎💨
We’ll, I was doing some LST and ended up snapping the top off #1, and then proceeded to top #2 as well. May as well keep them the same height. Late into this week they started flowering. No balls or stems, but I’m keeping an eye out due to the stress they went through.
Switched to the Clyde nutrients for flower/preflower and have been using them sparingly. Still saw a little bit of Nutrient burn despite using so little. It’s a learning curve! Happy growing 🇨🇦❤️🌱😎💨
The girls are hungry! Despite seeing some nitrogen excess they are still wanting more phosphorus. The Bonnie and Clyde have been a bit of a learning curve, but overall, I’m very happy with these Autoflowers so far! Some of the biggest I’ve grown to date.
Humidity has been a struggle this week, trying to keep my VPD on point. Otherwise it’s been a good week of growth. Happy Gardening 🇨🇦🌱❤️😎💨
Overall, the Girls are doing great. #2 is still showing some nitrogen excess, but is doing well. I’ve adjusted her feeding specifically in hopes to correct. #1 is not showing the same issue, and is motoring along. Both are stacking nicely, and are bringing on some smell now, and are sticky to the touch. I estimate about 3 weeks more, but who really knows with Autoflowers? Happy Gardening 🇨🇦❤️🌱😎💨
Fattening and stacking! That’s what’s up this week. Ladies are doing well, still fine tuning the new Cronk Nutrients. Some slight phosphorus deficiencies showed this week. To be expected with this type of flower growth so fast. Learning lots with this run, overall I’m very impressed with the Cronk Bonnie and Clyde Autoflower mix, still need to fine tune though. Happy Gardening 🇨🇦❤️🌱😎💨
Girls are on cruise control, gave them another big feed of the Cronk Nutrients. The info says this strain is 70-75 days, we’re at day 63 and they are still putting on weight. I’m thinking around the 22-25 of September is when I’ll start checking the trichomes more often. Checked today, most are cloudy, still quite a few clear though. I want to harvest my two strains together and as long as they stick to the timeline they say (give it take) we should be good 😊 Happy Gardening 🇨🇦❤️🌱😎💨
Day 70- Switched to plain ph’d water mid-week, they have now had 2 waterings with plain water. Probably going to be 2 more in the upcoming week.
Did a big defoliation mostly to help ease the final trim when it comes, but to also allow for a little more trichome development as she uses up the remaining nutrients. It’s been a much cooler week so I have been gradually increasing the light intensity to get a final push for some weight. Running at about 95% intensity at the moment with the tent hovering around 79-81 degrees freedom units.
Checking trichomes daily with my 30x jewellers loupe, mostly cloudy now, some amber popping up, but mostly on the leaves. I’m watching my other strain as well, hoping the timing will be right for both to come down. I’m not in a rush, really want to maximize these buds, they are already very hard, and they will be decent producers.
The Ganja Gelato girls are done! This was this their last week. I had been watching the trichomes closely daily, and by Thursday (day 77), they were ready. A nice mix of almost all cloudy and a few ambers peeking through 😋. They had 4 full water feeds to runoff, so I feel that they are ready to go. I no longer do a 48 hour dark period before harvest, so it’s happening, happy Gardening 🇨🇦❤️🌱😎💨
Not quite a full smoke report, but I did have a quick taste before they went to the jars. 😎💨
Thick and heady smoke, I rolled with my usual papers, my typical size of joint, and if I have to put it out 1/2 way, then we know we got some good 💨 and this passes the test! This Gelato has a smooth smoke, but still thick and has a sweet taste in the exhale. When smelling the bud in the jar or when breaking it up, there is a sweet smell along with the dank.
The inhale to me seems to have a touch of vanilla flavouring…
They were dried for 9 days, and into a 1 gallon jar (less burping), but day 2 of cure and they seem to be holding steady at 58% humidity! 😏 Can’t wait to get a true taste after few weeks.
I would definitely recommend this strain, and breeder. These Auto’s were Topped at week 4 or 5 ( 1 by accident, the other, might as well) and no signs of herm/seeds. 1 was stunted a bit from overwatering in the first few weeks, but still produced nice golf ball nugs Happy Gardening 🇨🇦❤️🌱😎💨
Love using Grow Diaries and the community of people I have met and chatted with along the way ❤️🇨🇦👊 I’ve “grown” so much over the past year from the advice and journals posted! Thanks Growmie’s! 👊❤️
