Time for a new journey !
I felt lazy (cleaning tents, etc.. took weeks) after last grow.
Excitement is back and I'm ready for more adventures !
I have been very very happy with my first try with Ace Seeds so, as planned a few months ago: Ace seeds again !🙏
- I'll use a 4x4 and a 3x3 tents, SE5000 in the 4X4; SF4000 in the 3x3.
- All plants will have their first weeks in the 4X4 and I'll move the Zamaldelica x Kali China and the Malawi x PCK to the 3x3 after 3 or 4 weeks.
- light Mix to start and then DNA Mills ultimate with cork.
- Bio technology organic line ( Elycitor, Roots +, Orga grow, Orga Bloom, Boost +, blooming H, inductor R &F)
+ Advanced nutrients Overdrive and Cal mag + Molasses Terralaba.
- 1L then 18L pots (no other repotting this time) for Killer A5 Haze and MalawiX Panama 14L for the two other strains
It's hot !
=> Elycitor dosage 1g/L instead of 0,3g/L and... 4 bags of CO2 in each tent.
This way plants with take advantage of heat and by the beginning of flowering, the T° will have dropped to the correct level
29/7/2022, 7pm:All seeds in wet cotton in the dark for germination.
31/7/2022: All seed sprouted but the Zamaldelica x Kali China. I started another one yesterday evening in case it finally doesn't sprout.
The 6 other seeds are now in their 1L pot, little watering with Elycitor 1g/L and Roots + 0,3ml/L, pH 5,9
RH is at 75% and T° 26,4 °C.
I forgot to stick the name of one plant on one pot. As a result for 1 Malawi x PCK and 1 Zamalsekica x KaliChina I'm not sure of what's in the pot 😬
Fortunately both strains will end in the same tent.
02/08/2022: It looks like all 3 Zamaldelica x Kali china failed. I contacted Ace Seeds. They answered very quickly as always and offered to replace the seeds when they restock (*/- next October) or to choose another of their strains.
I'll wait for restock and started 2 Colombian Jack yesterday (I liked it a lot from last grow) from Kannabia to go with The Malawi x PCK.
The 6 other plants are out and fine. Malawi x Panama first, Malawi xPCK 2nd just followed by Killer A5 Haze.
I don't know what I messed when I put the sprouted seeds in their 1L pots... this morning; it appeared that both Malawi x PCK were in the same pot starting to htow side by side😦.
I carefully and easily separated them and they're back to their respective pot with very little watering again with the roots stuff and the Elycitor. They kept on growing during the day so I think that they didn't suffer too much from the operation.
06/08/2022: 1st week since they went in to their pot. I finally found 1 Zamaldelica x Kali china growing in a Colombian Jack pot (I thought it died, checked the soii and couldn't see it and planted a CJ.. and finally it's alive ... Shame on me).
It's now in its own pot and will stay in the 4X4 with Killer A5 Haze et Malawi x Panama.
Lamp is at 40% 45 cm from canopy,
24°C < T°< 28,5°C , RH 78%
Day 14 (13/07/2022): They grow fast. A little faster than previous round. More light, more heat, more humidity, more CO2
Parental differences are allready observable. Z x KC excepted (she was out +/- 1 week after the other and is still a week late), secondaries are popping for each strain.
Not much to say, they're still babies.
Day 21 (20/08/2022): All plants repotted yesterday and will be topped above 5th node tomorrow.
1 Malawi x PCK and the Zamaldelica x Kali china will then move to the 3x3 tent and share it with 2 Colombian Jack
They all started to smell a little.
Day 28 (27/08/2022): They were topped 6 days ago above 5th node for Killer A5 Haze and Malawi x Panama and above 6th node for Malawi x PCK and Zamaldelica x Kali China.
Finally I decided to haver 5 plants in the 4X4 and 4 in the 3X3 instead of the contrary.
They grow fast and I placed the nets yesterday to start to build my scrogs and train them.
Judging by how fast they grow, I think that I'll switch to 11/13 before the end of next week.
Day 32 (31/08/2022):Today ,the light will be off 5 hours earlier and on 2 hours later so is the 1st day of 11/13 in the 4x4 tent (The zamaldelica x kali china and the 2nd malawi x pck are still under a 18/12 light schedule in the 3v3).
The grow surface will be filled during the stretch.
They had a hair cut and I unfortunately broke 2 or 3 branches. Well...They don't care !
The most vigorous plant is a Killer A5 Haze and might quickly be short of space.
I think that I will go back to a daily diary: I'm losing memory of watering dates if I don't do this way and once the net is placed it's less easier to weight pots.
Day 39 (07/09/2022): 8th day of 11/13 for the 4w4 and third day of 12/12 in the 3X3.
Grow space is almost fully filled. All plants are growing fast especially the killer A5 haze who in addition drinks more than the other plants.
Day 46 (14/09/2022):
15th day of 11/13.
All plants started to show their first pistils. The grow space is almost fully filled => I let the plants grow freely.
Storms here last night resulted in one led pannel off for 2/3 hours and another the same 2 hours later. In addition in the 3x3 the pannel started to shut down by itself 15 mn before the light is off. Cahhged one cable and it looks all good.
However I'llcheck if everything ok at impossible hours.
My2 Malawi X PCK looks like one plant is PCK diminant and the other Malawi dominant.
The Zamaldelica x kali china looks very interesting
Killer A5 Haze grew faster than the other plants and took space everywheer they could.
Malawi x Panama are also very vivid thy're the one who grew the most in heigh .
Hopefully T° is now going to be colder and adapted to flowring.
I just hope nothing wrong wil happen with the SF 4000 or SE 5000..🙏. I really don't feel like re instaling everything with a hps set-up especially now that plants and intricated in to the net and that required operations would be very very hard to perform because of my handicaps.
Day 60 (28/09/2022): 29th day of 11/13.
They only took 6 more cm in height this week => Most of the stretch is behind and the plants will all stay largely under 1 meter.
1 killer A5 haze and 1 Malawi x Panam show slight signs of mostly N deficiencies . Maybe I waited too much to give them some grow stuff and some calmag.
That said they overall lookk rather good for now. The 3x3 Malawi x PCK has lot of red pistils showing up and might end as a purple thing.
Day 67 ( 05/10/2022): 36th day of 11/13. Buds are just starting to fatten a bit. All plants had their foliar 1st round of Blooming H yesterday.. They look rather good although I have a few foliar signs of different issues..
Day 72 ( 12/10/2022): 43th day of 11/13.
Well.. not sure if I didn't messed up the grow:
- Underfeeding (moderate isn"t not enough). I relied too much too long on the DNA mills with corkand didn't give enough N and K
- Overwatering: with 14L pots, 4,2 L and then 5L / watering because I found the soil too dry on day n+4 was way too much. I should have watered more often instead
- CO2 increasing needs not supplied
- Light too strong and too close too soon...it burns, stresses etc..
- fixed fans pointing at the plants ( the malawi x panama hated it...). I stupidly followed an advice for someone at he grow shop about how to replace 2 oscillating fans (because of their too short lifetime) with 4 fixed fans and how to position them. Well.. 2 towards the plants isn't the right thing to do !
- Late reaction to first symptoms
As a result burns and carrencies and maybe a little roots damage here and there. Congratulations "Master" !👍
The grow shop advised to use some revive and the usual things about fans and light.
Raised the lamps, lowered a little their intensity, changed fixed fans orientations and ordered new oscillating (that won't last more than 1 run or 2..), sprayed again some neem oil (flowering is far for being over so no wotries for the taste... if there is some)) and gave them the revive (here again I messed things finally giving them 1ml/L after I prepared 5ml/L upset, misunderstanding instructions)+ a bit of pk.
3 Days after they start to get only a little greener (1ml/5ml).., still drink and fatten but there are lots of damages and I'm not sure they'll survive 6 more weeks😔
the Malawi x PCK, Zamaldelica x Kali China are less affected but they they still didn't appreciate the overwaterings and too strong light intensity.
Comparing to the last Ace seeds grow at the same time, they looks terrible but (..???) flowering is 1,5/2 weeks ahead in term of but development.
Not sure that it will last long.
Day 79 ( 19/10/2022): 50th day of 11/13.
Pictures talk for themselves... Life is strong so they're still alive and fattening.
The Zamaldelica x KaliChina and the Malawi x PCK in the 3x3 are... Tripoid. 3 Leaves and buds/ node.
Day 86 (26/10/2022): 57th day of 11/13. 1 Killer A( haze and 1 Malawi x Panama have lost almost all their main leaves... And It's not early senescence 😞
Things go a little better in the 3x3 with the 2 tripoid plants.
Everybody fattened a little bit and smells are getting stronger. Special mention for the purple malawi x pck and Zamaldelica xKali China whose smells are remarkable !
Day 93 (02/11/2022):
63th day of 11/13 in the 4x4 and 59 th day of 12/12 in the 3x3.
Things will be ready in a good 10 days in the 3x3. A little later for most plants of the 4X4.
They're still alive in the 4x4 and managed to fatten a little more. I found the the main error has been overwatering twice with (...) 5 and 4 times the recommended dosage fir molasses 😳..
Next grow, I'll come back to a day to day diary to keep better trick of waterings, nutrients dosages and see betterr the evoltution of potential problems.
Day 100 (09/11/2022):
70th Day of 11/13 in the 4x4 and 66th day of 12/12 in the 3x3.
Flushing started yesterday in the 4x4 and a little week ago in the 3x3.
I plan to harvest the 3x3 nest sunday or monday. 4X4 10 days/2 weeks later.
The 4 x4 Malawi XPCK turned reddish too, both plants have an incredible smell.
Day 107 (1611/2022): 77 th day of 11/13?
The 3 x 3 Malawi x PCK and Zamaldelica x Kali China were harvested 5 days ago and are drying since.
Harvest for the 4x4 within a few days.
Day 111 (20/11/2022): 5 plants harvested and drying after 81 days of 11/13. The Zamaldelica x Kali China and Malawi x PCK from the 3x3 went in to their jar after drying for 10 days.I'll update for all strains when today's harvest is dry.
