Dutch is correct about the need to flush plant, then give it a few days to recover.
The lower branches will not develop nice buds and will rob energy and nutrients from top buds development. It's better to sacrifice them sooner rather than later.
But it is possible to bend a plant, I've had to do so before. It's just a little tricky. First, you need to secure the pot so it will not move. This step is critical and cannot be skipped. Because then you will tilt the pot between 10 and 20 degrees. There, you've already begun reducing the height. Now attach a string to the plant just below top bud (I like to use a pipe cleaner hook because it will unbend before the branch breaks). Using a very heavy weight directly under the bud, gently draw the bud down up to about 45 degrees (this may take a couple of days).
The main main stem should form an arc and the bud will slowly adjust and continue to fill in.
Remember, the intensity of light drops off rapidly - dense buds are only formed in top 12 inches or so when growing indoors. So spread it out, not up!
