The specifics:
- Germinating in water/towel
- 1. pot: 1L air pot
- 2. pot: 10L air pot
- Soil: Biobizz Light-Mix (+10-20% perlite)
- Nutes: Biobizz
- Cracked and in soil: 11.04.2017
So my second strain is germinating on top of my pc next to me right now :)
Will be sprouted next to a 85W CFL, but with a 200W LED at 50cm distance as well.
Have prepared the soil in my 1L air pot, watered with 1ml/l voodoo juice and 1ml/l Biobizz Acti-Vera, and placed it in the grow room with a drinking glass as a dome (suffering with low RH in the grow room). So the soil should be nice and warm for her to be planted when she cracks that tail :)
Will be trying some LST on her, since she will probably outgrow my room fast if I dont!
Will transplant with 3-4 nodes set, and then when she recovers start out on it, so got a lot of reading up on LST to do :)
Started up on some slight LST, which is a first for me.
Felt a little weird bending her down, but seems she recovered well from it.
The plan is to try and guide her around the edge of the pot, we'll see how it goes. 😅
Had the first very minor feed today, didn't water until run off though. 10L is a huge pot!
Will slowly up the nutes if she doesn't show burns, but don't expect to have to feed/water for a while.
Not sure how fast those air pots dry out though.
Also just added a humidifier to the room, will see how it does with the raising the RH for the drying of my first grow. 😎
She's exploding! 😎
The LST seems to be working, growing the first branches straight up at great speeds.
I'm a little worried I'll be able to keep her under control. I'm letting the side branches shoot out a little more before applying some LST to them.
She'll definitely get big, so could use some advice here: 😅
- Should I think about defoliating already?
- The first two branches are a little.. wonky, should I let them grow or remove them?
- Do I up nutes for a bigger plant? - currently running same [mL/L] as my little 2L grow
Naming this one Leafy, because damn if she doesn't get bushy!
Today was the 2nd defoliating, just to keep her from drowning out the lower growth.
I had to remove a couple of bud sites and side branches as well, they had now possible growth room. So decided that she could use the energy elsewhere 😏
Other than that she's a strong grower and healthy, no signs of any deficiencies so far. 👌
Have fed her twice, since the big pot can take around 2.5-3 liter water before run-off, and she's still not drinking it that fast.
Might foresee having to remove a few more bud sites, lollipoping her a bit.
But will have to wait and see. 😊
Lots and lots of defoliation, and lollipopping, as you can see from the pictures.
Hoping it will get the main colas to grow a lot thicker ;)
She undid her tie-down on the main stem somehow, so she straightened up a bit (which makes her lean back a bit).
But have decided to let it be and just let her grow now.
Looks like I'm having some issues with heat/light on the top leaves, but can't raise my lights any farther away.
So have turned the lights down a bit, since they're dimmable. Just hope it won't affect the growth too much 😒
Any input on how much the slight height difference, from the real main cola, will affect the new "main colas"?
Finally she's flowering!
Took 6 Weeks from germination for her to reach this point, so expect around 5 weeks from seedling 😉
Switching slowly to flowering feeds, will probably do the first real one tomorrow.
I'm hoping she doesn't have much of a smell, because damn there's a lot of bud sites on her!
Even with all the lollipopping she will have a of filling in to do, and will be she's gonna be a heavy feeder 💪
Just crossing fingers she's over the stretching now, I'm already down
First week of flowering is over and she's doing excellent, lots of happy little bud sites showing up.
Have decided to let her just fill in now, and not defoliate anymore (unless crucial for buds later on).
I've noticed a few spots on the leaves, but have also been using a little bit of foliar spray just before flowering (2ml/L alg-a-mic to water).
Did turn off the lights, but can guarantee that a few drops have been left on the leaves. So not really worried, yet.
Could use some opinions on it, so have added a couple of pictures. Some leaves looks like they were chewed on?? 😕
Anyway, she's getting more thirsty and I'm feeding roughly every 4 days now, with 3L per feed.
edit, changed my mind, defoliated and LST'ed again
Noticed that she seems very droopy in the mornings recently, but usually have picked up when I get back from work.
These pictures are from the droopy time in the mornings.
Also really running out of vertical room!! 😓
A little late with this update, but better later than never 😅
She's definately in bloom now, there's so many little buds showing their pretty little pistels! 😎
Starting to get very thirsty, she's up to 3L every 2-3 day now.
Just got back from some business, 2½ days away, and found her hanging a bit already.
She just recovered from something that had stressed her, not quite sure what it was.
Mixed a strong fish-mix, alg-a-mic and Acti-vera feed and could see her recover within 5-10 hour.
So I'm running heavy on those in the feeds for a bit now 😄
I defoliated a bit more today, just to get the lower buds some light as well.
Oh, and I anyone even reads these, feel free to go check out my first grow in the votes and give me a little vote 😇
She's just doing her thing, and I'm letting her do it 😎
On some advice from @GardenOfAutos, related to the Nitrogen levels, I will be leaving Biobizz Grow out of the feeds from now on.
The top buds are starting to get a little flavor to the smell.
Anyone got some advice on how and if I should defoliate her, how much light is really required/expected for those lower buds vs. how much does the top buds need their leaves?
Filling in and starting to show some nice frosting and slight coloring of the pistols, mostly on the lower buds.
Hoping for around 2-3 weeks more, since that will fit with me going on holidays out of the country for a week or two perfectly😅
Nothing much to say this week, just enjoying her scent and watching her thicken up 😎
Noticed while taking the pictures that some of the lower pistols are turning amber already, which feels a little soon.
But since it's the lower buds I kinda ruled out light/heat stress.
Any takers on the reason for the early coloring?
Fattening, and starting to have a really nice thick orange/lemony smell to her (but still sweet).
Can see the buds growing bulkier each day 💪
Still no sign of amber trichomes, but the pistols are getting a slight color change.
Should I keep on adding Cal-Mag, or would it be better to stop with that now?
I'll be aiming for at least a week of flushing with 5-7liter waterings per flush.
Oh, and I started this grow with the Germination as week 1.
So compared to others that start just around when the first leaves are showing, this would be around 1 week behind.
Enjoyed taking the pics, hope you enjoy them as well 😎
Just started flushing, running around 7-8 liters through her each watering for the next week. She has the sweetest orangie smell to her, and the pistols are really starting to get amber 😎
Definitely recommending getting into LST, especially if you have limited grow height.
Managed to grow this with only 50cm from to of my airpot to the top of my lights :)00000000
