Really looking forward to running this strain again — I have another plant finishing out that’s been my favorite I’ve grown to date. It’s be a few weeks since I really started but this was the first full week that really felt like veg. Germinated one seed in papertowels, planted in a 1 gallon fabric pot with Fox farm ocean forest. This week I started doing a light dose of cal mag and big 6 micros. I’ve watered in recharge a few times since planting. I have 3-4 nodes and will probably top it once it gets a couple more that get established. It’s currently vegging with some tomatoes, lettuce, and sweet peas but will move into the tent that they’ll flower in within a week or two. There’s currently two plants in that tent finishing out that will be harvested on Wednesday, then I just need to get it cleaned out to move this plant and another SQ1 Glamorous Grapes plant into. Looking forward to this run, thanks for following along!
Double posting this week because I forgot to post last week. Week 2 was solid, I mostly leave the plant alone the first couple of weeks. This plant is outgrowing the glamorous grapes plant in the same tent already so that might pose a problem but we’ll see how it goes! Started adding the pure protein dry aminos once a week, and stuck with a bit of cal mag, big six, and microbes once a week. Already loving how vigorously this plant is growing.
Another solid week, this plant is super vigorous again. The growth is already really outpacing the glamorous grapes plant. It had 5 nodes so I went ahead and topped her last night. Stuck with the same supplemental nutrition, the aminos, big 6, cal mag, and recharge each once every week/week and a half spread out over different waterings. Harvested the closet tent and got it cleaned out so these plants got put in tonight. Hoping to get some explosive growth this week, they’re getting to that phase quickly!
Solid week of growth, she recovered from being topped and started branching out laterally. It’s in that awkward phase where it has a bunch of tops but the branches aren’t long enough to tie down so there’s not enough space for all of them. They alway grow out of it quick though. I usually uppot after they rebound from the first topping so I’ll do that this week, it needs it, the lower leaves are starting to fade. This strain continues to impress and is the most vigorous one in the tent again. Since it was looking hungry I did a feed with the aminos, otherwise it’s been the same routine: recharge once and micros once every 7-10 days, cal mag and the Q most other waterings.
Alright this girl got uppotted into her final 5 gallon pot and she’s thriving. She’s outgrowing the glamorous grapes plant that’s sharing the tent by a good bit so she’ll probably end up taking up closer to 2/3 of the space. I’m guessing I’ll flip into flower next week or two. Sticking with the same nutrition with the aminos, micros, and recharge once a week each, then a bit of cal mag every time and a pinch of the Q every other time or so. Looking forward to the coming week, she’s primed to really rage.
Last week of veg and this plant is crushing it. It has a ton of tops I’m really happy with where we’re at. I’d love to let it veg another few weeks but this tent is so limited in vertical space and this strain stretches more than I expected. Nutrition has been the same as the past few weeks. I’ll probably top dress some build a bloom and switch over to the rootwise biophos microbes in place of the recharge a day or two before flipping to 12-12. This is where it starts to get fun!
Alright 7 days under 12-12 and this girl is raging. Stretch has fully set in, I have a ton of tops, the canopy is fairly full and even, and the plants are as healthy as can be. I’ve added in the rootwise biophos in place of the recharge, have dialed back the pure protein dry aminos a bit and added a bit of the build a bloom to the waterings, and I did a very light top dress with the build a flower. In about another week I’ll do a heavier top dress with the build a flower and start cutting out the pure protein fry to give the buildabloom at full strength. I’m a bit nervous this plant is going to get a bit closer to the light than is ideal but we’re in good shape for now. All in all I continue to be very impressed with twenty20’s genetics. Really looking forward to the coming week!
Day 15 of flower and once again this girl is just absolutely crushing it. Stretch is slowing down, pistils anre popping ant every node and the tops are developing into what will be the main top nugs. I’ve been removing the lower leaves as the fade due to a combination of too little light and getting its nitrogen sapped to feed growth at the tops. I gave it a heavy top dress with the build a flower and hit it with another drench with the biophos microbes to jumpstart the breakdown of the organic material in the top dress. Can’t wait to see the buds start to develop this week!
D21 of flower and this girl is blooming. The leaves at the top of this plant have gone a paler/lime green compared to the lower growth. I had this happen before with the Kosher Kush plant a few runs ago and I’m not sure if it’s to do with the lights, nutrition, or if it’s even really an issue at all. That run I decided to give it more nitrogen and that wasn’t the issue and I think the nitrogen when flower was in full swing caused that one to throw so many bananas. This time I just added a bit of epsom salt in case it was a magnesium or sulfur issue, but otherwise I’m just going to ride it out and see if it progresses into a bigger problem. Other than the color change this plant is doing great. Stretch has stopped and I’m getting some early bud development. She’s going through .5 g of water every 2.5 days. I’ve been supplementing water with low doses of the build a bloom and big bloom each about once a week. Hope to see some swelling this week!
Another week and no progress or worsening in the lightening of the leaves. The buds are developing pretty well and there’s a decent amount of frost on the leaves and calyxes so I’d say this grow is still going well. If it’s like last round this phase will be a bit rocky but it’ll finish out strong. Lighting has been the same, supplemental nutrition has been the same. Environment got pretty humid this week and now that the buds are putting on mass I put the dehumidifier in the room and that’s gotten it back to 50-55%. I’ve got a compost tea brewing and plan to do another top dress at some point toward the end of this week. All in all still happy with this plant, hope that once the buds start to fatten up it’ll remind me why I loved this one last round!
A good week for this girl, she seems back on track if she was ever really off track. The leaves are starting to change color and it’ll probably be a dark purple by this time next week if it goes the same way the last one went. Supplemental feedings have pretty much been the same. I did a compost tea with some compost, build a flower, worm castings, molasses, and a pinch of rootwise biophos. Going to do the final top dress with build a bloom tomorrow. Can’t wait to see the buds plump up this week!
Week 6 and we’re pretty much on track with where we were last round — maybe a bit less bulk and a bit less frost but all in all pretty similar. Supplemental feeding has been kept to a minimum because there’s a bit of tip burn. Pretty much coasting til harvest at this point!
Week 7 down and this girl is finishing out strong. She’s a bit behind the other plant in the tent but she’s catching up. The buds are starting to swell all over the plant and the trichs are looking good for week 7, lots of cloudy, a bit of clear, and not much amber yet. This strain has a great sedative effect so I’m going to try to go a full 10 weeks and get some amber which will let the lowers really fill out. Still alternating with the build a bloom and big bloom but will probably start cutting that out by the end of this week. Mostly on autopilot from here on out.
D58 of flower and this girl is finishing out strong. I busted out the microscope tonight and there’s still a decent amount of mostly clear trichomes so I’m going to let her go the full 10 weeks but it’s mostly coasting at this point. I’ve mostly cut the supplemental nutrition, I might do one more watering with either I big bloom or build a bloom but otherwise we’re going to be doing water only. This plant seemed to be a bit of a heavier feeder but otherwise this could’ve been a clone from last round, the buds from both plants were totally uniform and they smell identical. This strain checks all of my boxes so I’m really impressed with twenty20. They’re dropping the f2 of this next month so I’m excited to pick those up. I have 2 purple ice water plants bred by bloom seed co on deck for the closet tent after but maybe I’ll run the f2s in the attic or in the closet after the purple ice water plants come down. Anyway, there will be at least one more update before the final harvest, thanks for tuning in.
Once again blown away by The Spice. This pheno wasn’t quite as good as the prior run but I’m still very happy with it. It’s such a unique terpene profile, kinda like cinnamon and cloves with a bit of gas. The buds are slow to develop but they chunk up in the last couple of weeks, and end up dense, sticky, and caked with trichomes. The lowers from this plant didn’t bulk up as much as last time and this one had a bit more nutrient issues in early flower. Still ended up with 55g of dried flower dense enough for jars annd 3 bags of popcorn nugs and trim to process for dry ice hash. All in all very happy with this run. This clone may end up in the attic tent for one final run. I scooped some The Spice f2 seeds which is on deck for the closet after the purple ice water run. Not sure how many of these will get tracked on here but we’ll see. Thanks for following along, go pick up some of twenty20’s gear. It’s seriously the best stuff I’ve ever grown.
