Hello everyone and welcome to my first grow diary.
I've been a long time lurker on here and I'm excited to finally be apart of this wonderful community.
A little background.
I won a contest from Twenty20 mendocino and they sent me one of their new strains that's currently in development "Orgeberry" and I'm excited and a little nervous, to showcase my grow for them 😂.
I've been only growing now for close to 2 years so I would appreciate any feedback and please don't hold back.
Big shoutout to twenty20mendocino for giving this amazing opportunity.
Lets begin.
My germ process is to soak the seeds for 24-48 hours and transfer them over to root riot cubes once tap roots have popped.
The other preferred method is to place seeds in the root cubes, saturate cubes with water and let them soak for about 12 hours. Squeeze out access water but keeping the cubes moist.
I then transfer the cubes into a Tupperware container using an old router (acting as a heat mat lol Don't judge! 😂) to let them bake.
I open up the container once a day to let new air in and within 3 days, I had seedlings. (Shout out to Ronin - Autoflower.net community that came up with this process.)
After day 5, I planted both into their pots and moved them into their new home.
I'll be giving them water (ph 5.5) for the first week until their first leaves show and then will be moving over to the feeding schedule.
I am using the advance nutrients sensi grow for coco A & B, with about 7 other of their products for a pretty stellar lineup.
It hasn't let me down for my last 2 grows so I'm excited to see how the Orgeberry responds.
I am also growing 2 bruce banners (night owl) and 1 Walter white (Mephisto) so you'll probably be seeing them in the back ground at some point as well.
I'll see you folks next week! 👍
Girls are doing good. Both are working on their 3rd set of leaves which I'm sure will double by next week. ogre 2 stretched this week so I increased the light power a little to compensate.
3rd week completed this Saturday and the girls are starting to explode. They double from the previous week and are on their 5th node.
No topping since these are auto's so I went ahead and started LST on both.
Continued LST throughout the week and starting to shape nicely. Girls are starting to explode and are really healthy. Both girls started to show sex at the very end of the week.
Week 5 has finished nicely. Both girls continue to explode with growth as well as no signs of nutrient/ph deficiency. Giving the girls about a half gallon each per feed and they’re sucking it up within 3 days.
I’m continuing LST every 3 days on average and they are finally forming a nice crown around the main cola.
Both plants starting to show flowering half way through week 5 (day 38) so I started the flowering feeding schedule at week 6 aka day 42.
Gave them both recharge as well. Both are finally starting to smell as well. VDP has been solid idling at .8 on average
Started the girls on the flower feed schedule and both are starting to stretch nicely. I'm feeding them 1 gal each with 15% run off. Both are sucking it up within 2-3 days.
Orgeberry #2 started to show signs of A ph deficiency.
her PH run off was (5.6) so I had to adjust.😤
She responded well to my last fed and her PH now is at 6 so hopefully I'm back on track.
End of week 7 - Day 55 (Week 2 Flower -Day 17).
Girls are stretching nicely and defoliated both up to the 4th node.
Girls are taking 1 gal every 2 days on average.
I'm also continuing to give them recharge once a week up until week 4 flower
End of week 8 - Day 62 Week 3 Flower - Day 24
Girls have done stretching for the most part and responded really well to the nute schedule. They have started to pack on buds and doubling every two days it seems.
😁
Fed them recharge again and will give them one more dose next week. The buds smell like skittles and cheese. Very fruity and im digging it.
End of week 9 - Day 69
Flower - Day 31
The girls continue to respond well with the feed schedule and are starting to pack on buds. I slowly increased nutrients throughout the week and no signs of over feeding.
They are averaging 1 gallon top feed (with 15% run off ) every 2-3 days.
They are both smelling great - Very fruity and cheesy.
End of week 10 - Day 76 Flower - Day 38
We’re in the final last weeks of grow and I started to feed them overdrive.
Girls continue to pack on weight and are starting to frost up.
They both are very sticky and have a strong smell.
Keeping humidity at 50% They are averaging 1 gallon top feed (with 15% run off ) every 2 days.
End of week 11 - Day 83 Flower - Day 45
The girls are really starting to pack on bud weight.
Buds are very thick and slightly dense.
Stems are holding strong but I are finally showing signs on bending so I ran wire to prop them up.
The smell is really thick of sweet candy and heavy cheese.
Never smelled anything quite like it.
Trichomes are showing cloudy/clear with no signs of amber yet.
Should be ready in another week or 2 at this rate.
Humidity is locked in at 50%.
End of week 12 - Day 90
Flower - Day 52
The girls continue to pack on bud weight.
I started to open up the buds to let light penetrate some of the side colas.
The buds are average 2 inches thick per cola and really packing on some resin.
Trichcomes are getting cloudy but no signs of amber yet.
Another week or so.
End of week 13 - Day 97. Flower - Day 59
Girls are finishing up and will be done by next week. trichomes are finally showing signs of amber.
I will be giving them 2 more feeds and chopping them this coming weekend.
Buds are very dense and almost 3 inches thick on average.
Stems held up for the most part but several were showing stress and starting to twist inwards. other than that, both plants were very resilient to my feeding and light schedule.
It's been one month since my last post and my Orgeberry is finally done curing. It took 14 days to dry our and I had the tent locked in at 60/60. The cure bags I used worked great and it made the terps robust. I finally got to try this over the weekend and terps profile is great. It gives off a powerful sweet up front yet overall a powerful cheese aroma.
It definitely weights on the indica side but hits very smooth.
Doesn't make the head heavy or cloudy but overall very relaxing and creeps up on you to the point your sunk in the couch. I would definitely recommend for indica lovers out there.
I was able to get 9 oz's off of two plants after cure and the buds are super thick and dense.
I hope you enjoyed my journey .
See you on the next grow my growmies
