Soaked seeds in small amount of Seaweed Extract and RO water for 12 hours…water adjusted to ph of 6.5. Then Sowed seeds into soil placed in solo cups with Happy Frog soil and perlite…..drainage holes added to cups too. From the Nirvana site….. “Nothing is said to be perfect, but Blue Dream seeds are the exception. A remarkable combination of taste, powerful effect and efficiency. This lady is highly resistant and solid, has a short flowering time and does not require a lot of maintenance. Blue Dream Feminized was created by crossing Blueberry with Haze # 1, known to everyone for its unique flavor. We have managed to create a sativa-dominant hybrid that has inherited all the best from its parents. Welcome to my grow. I’m downsizing to a 2x4 tent for added simplicity. That should meet my needs, but my goal now is to try to maximize my space. With that in mind, I’m to attempting a scrog for the first time ever to maximize my two plant yield. I will be using General Hydroponics Flora series, Maxicrop Seaweed for root development, Recharge and silica as my primary nutrients and supplements. You will see a third small plant too….it was my emergency backup in case one Blue Dream failed. It’s turned out relatively small and I may be killing her off soon. Surprisingly, all three seeds were sowed the same day and maintained under similar conditions. Not sure if I want to try to squeeze three plants in a 2x4 scrog…..two seems easier and equally effective. Thoughts? So, as for my process, i Soaked seeds in seaweed extract and RO water for 12 hours before planting. I Transferred seeds to solo cups (.75 inches deep) with Happy Frog soil and small perlite. Sprouted in 3 days. Maintained under 4 T5 lights with a distance of 4-6 inches by week 3. Transplanted quickly to one gallon containers by week 3…..which is where I’m starting this diary. I also transferred them from the 4 T5s light fixture to the grow tent and Timber LED. Fortunately, I have a dimmer and a lux meter, so i dialed in about 35-38,000 lux after the transfer to the tent. I plan to slowly increase the lux levels. (Edit….at 45,000 lux next week)

Welcome back to the grow. The seedlings only stayed in the solo cups for two weeks. By week three, they were in one gallon containers where they really thrived. By week 4, we have moved them to 5 gallon containers. I am now using Fox Farm Ocean Forest and perlite as my medium. This is a little hotter soil than the Happy Frog soil that I used for germination. So far I don’t see any excess nitrogen issues. I should have captured a photo, but the root ball was extremely fragile and loose due to my high perlite ratio. Roots were mildly wrapping around root ball in the one gallon lightly…..maybe slightly too early to transplant. I could have gone one week longer I suspect, but it’s better to transplant too early than too late. Using dimmer to adjust lux to 45,000 lux. This intense lighting is probably driving the short distance between nodes. They are short, and I plan to top them once they are 7 nodes high. I will top above the 5th node, and likely top one more time for the scrog net to word effectively. I plan to try scrogging these plants for the first time , so I make no guarantees about my skills here. 9/8. Watered at 1g per plant today. Topped both plants above the 5th node (or best guess at 5th). They’re so bushy I can’t see nodes, but I believe I counted 7 nodes on one plant before topping. 9/9. Lifted pots and still relatively heavy, so not going to water yet. Waiting to see how the plant responds to the topping. 9/10. Installed plant bending clips to bring lower branches bud sites up to the top of the plant. Raised light 3 inches to create a 16 inch spread. Adjusted dimmer to 45,000 lux. Decided to plant the runt of the litter….so I will be growing 3 plants instead of 2. 9/11. Watered and fed with 100oz of water to each large plant….40oz to the small plant.

My 4 week old plants have 7 nodes, but they are only 6.5 inches tall. Is this short spacing between nodes good or bad? I am giving my plants 45,000 lux worth of light…should I dim it to encourage more stretch? Or is a short and bushy plant going to work out ok for a scrog?

Looks like it's ready to be topped and defoliated. Get those big shade leaves out of the way of light for your future branches that are hidden behind them. Yeah, you could dim the light to make them stretch, for sure. Just make sure you monitor it. If the branches stretch too much, they won't be able to stand on their own, let alone hold buds. I hope this helps.

Welcome back to my grow. I’m proceeding with three plants instead of two. Based on how short they’re growing, they might not be tall enough for a good scrog. So I’ll just grow three smaller plants and use the net to support the colas. Both large plants have been topped and are undergoing LST. I’d like to top them one more time and see if I can get a scrog going….but I think I should have encouraged more stretching.. I watered and fed yesterday with 100oz of water per plant, so I need to wait a day or two to water again. Even though I’m in fabric smart pots, they’re holding a lot of water today. I’m experimenting with plant bending clips on the two large plants to bend the bottom branches up towards the light. So far it appears to be working on one plant but the other plant needs defoliation. 9/12. Defoliated one plant with large fan leaves blocking growth sites and adjusted nutrient levels higher according to General Hydroponics feed chart for next feeding. Topped largest plant 6 times, so going to wait two more weeks minimum before flipping. Previously topped once, so this should result in 6 more tops. For the small plant, fed 20oz of nutrients plus some Recharge. My training is so inconsistent between plants…..this could be a disaster. One plant has been topped 8 times, the other plant only once, and then the dwarf plant hasn’t been touched at all. 9/13. Watered one gallon per plant. The small plant will receive no water today (not in a fabric Smart pot, so it holds water longer). 9/14. No actions planned, but I decided to put up a scrog net. I’m dealing with three different plant heights and differing growth rates. I need to even the canopy for light coverage, so this seems like my best option. I also used my old lux meter to reduce the lamp output….lux reduced from 45,000 to 35,000 to encourage a little more stretch. 9/15. Measured light output with new LED light meter. Raised light output to 45,000 lux. Significant difference between readings of cheap lux meter and LED meter. Generic lux meter reads high by about 5,000 lux, so it was inaccurate. Tested now and old lux meter reading 50,000 lux and the more expensive LED light meter is reading 45,000 lux. CONSIDERING CUTTING DOWN THE SMALL PLANT AND GROWING ONLY TWO PLANTS….tempted to chop today. Will decide by Sunday. 9/16. Decided to cut back from three to two 5 gallon plants in the tent. Three large plants are likely to overwhelm the space. Rearranged plants and installed scrog net. Watered without nutrients (I did use RO water, CalMag, silica, and seaweed extract) ph’d to 6.3. RIP Original Glue. Starting to smell wonderful. So here’s my first scrog attempt. Scrog net Really opens up the plant for light exposure…..so far I like this scrog process. I will miss being able to remove the plants from the tent due to the net and being able to lift the pots to feel for water needs. 9/17. BD#2 plant looking lighter green…..straight water wasn’t enough for her. Fed one gallon each of feed.. Defoliated BD#1 to expose more growth tip sites. 9/18. End of week photos. No action today. Pots are still heavy (full of water) from yesterdays feeding. I’m only having to water every 3-4 days at this point. Lights increased to 45k Lux.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS OR PROVIDE SUGGESTIONS….OPEN TO LEARNING. Thanks! 9/19. Welcome to week 6. My plants are showing a lighter green since using water alone last time. I have been alternating feeding and waterings to avoid over feeding. I plan to continue this approach, but I’m going with a stronger nutrient mix (light mix) for this feeding today (see photo 1). The roots should still be growing into fresh hot FFOF soil, so I don’t want to burn these ladies with too many nutrients. I added a layer of coco pebbles to lock in moisture and protect the top inches of soil from being disturbed. My goal this week is to work on filling the scrog net. I’m giving them at least two more weeks before I flip. They’re staying short, so I don’t anticipate any height issues. 9/20. Removed a few leaves from the lower canopy below the net and a few that were covering up potential branch sites. Still bushy as hell. No watering today as she is still wet from yesterday. Adjusted tent settings to 79 degrees max and 74% humidity max. I intend to pay more attention to Vapor Pressure Deficit during this grow (vpd). Lighting dimmed to 43,000 lux. 9/21. Minor defoliation of leaves blocking new branch sites and removal of low branches that will never reach the light. Tempted to flip to flower, but going to hold off at least one more week and try to fill the net more. I don’t want to overwhelm the tent. Planters are heavy and don’t need any water today. 9/22. Fed 1.1 gallons to each plant using light feed nutrient schedule. Very little runoff. I’m concerned about overwhelming the net with flowering stretch, so I’m flipping to flowering tonight. 9/23. I was impatient last night and flipped to flower. Changed my mind….want to fill the scrog net first. Now on 18 hour light timer. No water was planned for today….pots are heavy with water. However, I’m seeing some burned leaf tips so I gave one gallon of nutrient-free solution. (Tap water with CalMag, silica, floralicious plus….ph’d to 6.4). 9/24. No action planned for today. Pots are heavy from last watering. Decided to flip to flower today….use growth spurt to fill up remainder of net.

9/24 I’ve decided to flip to flower earlier than originally planned. Hopefully the flowering stretch will fill most of the open space in the scrog net. I will continue to feed branches under the scrog net whenever possible during the next week. I like the quality of this AC Infinity 2x4 trellis net, but I wish the squares were slightly smaller maybe 3x3”. Switched to 12/12 lighting. I will water and feed tomorrow. New feed levels updated on this page….which aligns with the “light feed” schedule from General Hydroponics for the beginning of flower. 9/25. Watered with 3 gallons of nutrient solution. Small runoff from each pot (not much). Used light feed recipe from GH feed chart for early bloom. I May need to add more nitrogen to fuel growth spurt…..watching closely. Lowered LED from 17” gap to 15” gap. Lux increased from 43,500 to 46,000 today. Will increase slightly tomorrow. Supercropped two branches that were growing taller than the rest of the net. 9/26. No watering today. After careful consideration, decided to maintain veg status for plants. Only 2 days into 12/12, so should be OK to switch back to 18/6 lighting. Removed several fan leaves and realized that I was still covering several potential branch sites. 9/27. Fed and watered with 3 gallons. Some minor yellowing in older leaves of one plant, so I increased nitrogen slightly. Could be a magnesium shortage too, so I added 1T/gallon of Epsom salts to provide magnesium and sulfur. Fed branches thru net and minor defoliation. 9/28. No feed or water today. Minor defoliation. Fed more branches towards the center of the scrog net. I’ve read that I should flip before filling up the net, so I believe I’m at a pivotal point. Flipped to 12/12 lighting today. This time I feel like the net is adequately covered. 9/29. Fed 3.5 gallons to both plants. Made the mistake of not adjusting ph of feed…..bonehead move of the day. Probably a 7.5-8.0 ph as a result. Hopefully only once won’t affect the plants too badly since I’m in soil. My online search is indicating that one mistake won’t matter. Adjusted branches to get a more even canopy including a little supercropping. Fed all nutrients EXCEPT micro….feel like I’m a little rich on nitrogen. Measured PPM and it’s very high at 1050, even without adding Micro. I’m going to reduce some supplements to lower ppm in the future. Added a second scrog net for branch support during flowering stretch. 9/30. No water or feed today. Next watering will be tomorrow and without nutrients, but plenty of CalMag and some Epsom salt. 10/1. Removed second trellis net as I think it’s too early for that. I still need to be able to get in there to defoliate too. Watered with 3 gallons but did not add any Flora nutes. (Added cal mag, silica, seaweed extract to 300ppm tap water). Also added epsom salt to the last two gallons.

Welcome to flower week #2. Please feel free to jump in if you see me making any errors….I welcome feedback as I’m always learning. 10/2. No water or feed today as I gave them 3.5 gallons yesterday. I’m struggling with whether to conduct a heavy defoliation before putting the second scrog net on. I plan to start defoliating over coffee this morning and see how far I’m willing to take this. I will install the trellis net when I’m finished today. As far as lighting, the plants are receiving 47,000 lux at 15 inches (dimmer on full) 10/3 Fed 3 gallons of nutrients….over 1,100 ppm on the feed due to high ppm on my tap water (300 ppm). By the time I add cal mag, I’m at 500 ppm before adding anything! I also use an aquarium solution to neutralize the chloramines in the water. 10/4. No feed or water today. Installed second trellis net, tucked leaves. 10/5. Changing nutes….going to try MegaCrop dry fertilizer instead of the very full line of GH products. Supposed to grow great cannabis with less hassle. Mixed 5g per gallon of Megacrop and 1g per gallon of Bud Explosion. Unlike GH, the feed was at 6.5 ph without any adjustments. Very nice. High scores so far for simplicity. Let’s see how the plants react. Fed 3 gallons (1 gallon of RO). 1077 ppm in the feed. 10/6. Seeing the start of some brown tips….might have pushed too hard here. Fed 1 gallon each of water (50% RO water) with cal mag, silica and seaweed extract. Ppm at 770. Hope to prevent any further damage to leaves. 10/7. Wow….have they exploded! They’ve only gained 2” this week, but grew 1” last night. I believe the stretch has officially started. Raised the light from a 14” gap to a 16” gap. That provides 47,000 lux worth of lighting. I’m no longer weaving branches into the net….only using it to separate the colas and provide sufficient light and airflow. Fed 3.5 gallons (1.75 gallons each) of lower ppm nutrient to flush out more salts from the soil. Used 3g/gallon (recommended is 5g/gallon) of Megacrop and 1g/gallon of Bud Explosion. 900 ppm feed going into the plant. Runoff at 2070 ppm. I will start watering with more runoff to flush out more salts as I go….probably start using 4 gallons next time. No more Seaweed extract starting today as I don’t believe it’s beneficial in flower mode.i do get a small amount of runoff regularly when I water, but I am apparently not getting enough to flush out salts. It’s too early to credit the new fertilizer with this good-looking growth as I’ve only fed it once. But they look very healthy. 10/8. Last day of the flowering week 2. Fed 4.75 gallons of feed. I am seeing a lot of residual salts, so I’m feeding a lot more to drive excess runoff. 1050 ppm feed. 1900 ppm runoff. Collected 1.75 gallons of runoff water, so each plant held 1.5 gallons. See you next week!

Welcome back…..Still dialing in the grow tent and transitioning from veg to flower. Feeding Time…..I was historically feeding 1-1.5 gallons per plant before with a little runoff from my 5 gallon fabric pots. I suspect that I haven’t been giving enough liquid for sufficient runoff in my previous grows which leads to some potential problems with salt buildup. Friday’s feed was 1.75 gallons each at 900ppm going in and almost 2100 ppm runoff water. Saturday, I fed 2.2 gallons each at 1050ppm going in and 1900 ppm with the runoff water. So the concentration of salts in the soil seems to be improving with each feeding. 4.75 Gallons fed at 1050 ppm / 1.75 gallons of runoff sucked up from drain pans at 1900 ppm Mega Crop. 3.5g/ gallon Bud Explosion .9g/gallon CalMag 13 ml in 4.75 gallons Ph Down roughly 3-4ml 1.75 gallons of RO and 3 gallons of tap Today…..I did three actions to address this high soil ppm concentration. I wanted to fix this before the flowering stage is too established. 1.). Fed 3 gallons total (1.5 each) of tap water with General Hydroponics Florakleen and CalMag to help flush salts out of soil….ph’d to 6.2. Didn’t measure ppm of ingoing liquid, but runoff ppm was down to 1400. Runoff ph at 5.9. Im happy with those numbers, but I hope the soil increases slightly. 2.). Fed 2 gallons (1 gallon each) with Megacrop (4g/gallon), Bud Explosion (1g/gallon), Sweet Candy (1g/gallon) and Epsom Salt (.5T/gallon). PPM was relatively high as a result of the Epsom salt…1500. That Epsom salt raised the ppm from 990 to 1500. Runoff at 1500 too. Future feeding will be kept below 1100ppm. This was a stupid move with such high ppm. 3.). Realized that 1500ppm feed is going to burn my ladies, so I fed 1 gallon each of tap water with cal Mag and Florakleen at 600ppm in. Flushed out 1500ppm runoff. Fingers crossed that I didn’t burn the plants with step 2. Vacuumed runoff and the tent is ready to go for another day. Friday’s runoff ppm was. 2100 and we are now down to 1500 ppm. As long as I continue to feed with plenty of runoff, I hope to be able to finish this grow without a flush. On a secondary note, I’m using 5 gallon fabric pots for the first time in a while. I forgot how much more humidity they put off in the garden with their porous sides. I think I’m going to switch back to plastic Warrior pots on my next grow to reduce humidity and water less frequently. They still deliver oxygen to the roots and they don’t allow for as much evaporation between watering. Here’s my rationale….I vent into my grow room where I run a dehumidifier. Unfortunately, I have no option for external venting. Since the fabric pots put off more humidity, I’m running my dehumidifier more frequently and for longer periods. So higher utility costs and more wear-and-tear on my dehumidifier is what I think I am experiencing. Is the extra cost worth it for the air pruning fabric pot??? I’m still working to dial in a stable VPD. Revised this table that I found online for the narrower grow room parameters. Planning to purchase a controller to automate some fans and lighting…..doing more research. Feel free to steal if it’s helpful….I borrowed it from GrowDoctor.com. Whew….today is completed by 7am. Productive morning. Next update on Wednesday and Saturday. UPDATES 10/10. Lowered lights from 18” above canopy (47,000 lux) to 13” above canopy (65,000 lux). Dimmed light to 55,000 lux as I didn’t want to make such an extreme increase. I will check the leaves for heat stress every 2 hours today to make sure I’m not frying my leaves. Oscillating Fans are blowing across the top of the canopy. 10/11. Fed Megacrop (4g/gallon) Bud Explosion and Sweet Candy (1g/gallon each). 6.5 ph. 1080 ppm going in. 1600ppm runoff water. Grew another inch last night. Adjusted light intensity from 55,000 lux to 65,000 lux. Raised lamp one inch and increased dimmer. 10/12. Fed 3 gallons of Megacrop at 4g/gallon. 10/13. Fed 3.5 gallons (1.75 each). 1050 ppm feed at 6.5 ph.m. 1600 ppm runoff. I’m happy with that. Used 3g Megarop per gallon and 1g/gallon of Bud Explosion and Sweet Candy. Next time will be Megacrop alone. Trying to avoid high ppm feeds. 10/14 installed new tent controller (ac infinity controller 69 Pro) and humidifier….arriving tomorrow. Should allow me to get my VPD more stable. I’m more than impressed with this controller so far. I can make adjustments to settings from anywhere with internet access. Pretty slick. No water or nutrients today. 10/15. Fed 1.75 gallons each with Megacrop (5g/gallon) and Bud Explosion (1g/gallon). 1100 ppm feed. 1700 ppm runoff. Note that I will increase to 2 gallons from this point forward to get more runoff.

Girls are exploding in growth, but not growing vertically as much as I had hoped. Buds are stacking…beginning of week 4 is looking good. By the end of week 4 here, the flowers are getting slightly larger but not taller. This is Blue Dream….as a Sativa leaning strain should she be stretching more? The good news is that I won’t need my traditional bamboo sticks to hold up the colas. I decided to install a 20”x48” heat mat to see if I can bring the temps up slightly at night. It turns on when the tent drops below 71 degrees. I also keep my plants in saucers with plant elevators, so my roots won’t be sitting directly on the heat mat. I don’t want to overheat and cook my roots. Added a humidifier to the lung room to raise the humidity from 39% to 45%. Feeding details by day below. 10/16. 4 gallons fed. Fed 5g/gallon of MegaCrop and 3ml/gallon of CalMag. Water at 6.5ph and 1100ppm. Runoff ppm 1600. 10/17. No feed….pots still heavy from yesterday 10/18. Fed 4 gallons, vacuumed 1.25 gallons from saucers. Net, they were thirsty. Feed was 950ppm and 6.5ph. Runoff at 1500ppm. Maintaining VPD at 1.3-1.5 during lights on. Vpd around 1 during lights off. Ordered a new woozoo fan to improve circulation below the canopy. Will install tomorrow. 10/19. Fed 2.5 gallons of RO water and tap water with CalMag, 350ppm feed. 1400ppm runoff. 10/20. I fed straight water yesterday, and I saw a big improvement in runoff ppm today. Today I fed four gallons of MegaCrop at 5g/gallon plus CalMag . Ppm of feed was 1100. Ppm of runoff was 1150. I believe that I will continue to alternate watering (No nutes) and feeding nutes unless I see a deficiency pop up. I also added two fans to the tent. A Woozoo multi oscillating fan under the canopy and an oscillating pole fan on the canopy. The fans are programmed to run at faster speeds when canopy temperatures increase. 10/22. 4 gallons of MegaCrop at 3g/gallon, Bud Explosion at 1g/gallon. Feed ppm at 1050 ph at 6.7. Runoff ppm 1425.

Starting week 5 of flower and I’m expecting to see some significant bud swelling these next few weeks. So far I’m not getting any leaf issues, so the new MegaCrop nutrients and Fox Farm soil are keeping this plant well-fed. I will try to capture the same buds every day in photos to document growth. SCROG has proven relatively easy to execute. I think I can do better plant training prior to placing the screen next time. I also want to do better defoliation before the colas get frosty. But I’m pleased with the potential harvest I’m seeing for such a small tent. I topped Blue Dream #1 much more than Blue Dream #2 during veg. I see that the result is significantly more bud sites but smaller sites too. Hopefully they grow next week or two. Blue Dream #1 also has fewer trichomes on the sugar leaves. Giving the plants 65,000 lux worth of lighting….1042 Umol PPFD. At 12 hours of lighting, that’s a Daily Light Index of 45. That’s decent and sufficient for flowering given Cannabis can handle extremely high DLI. I’m running 40 watts per square foot of tent (320 watt LED in an 8 square foot tent)…..wish I had a little more power though. I still don’t know the “sweet spot” for light distance…..I’m starting to think it varies by strain. https://growlightmeter.com/lighting-requirements-of-cannabis-over-the-full-grow-cycle/ On the last day of this week 5, I added AC Infinity 11” light bars around the perimeter and a UV lamp to the mix. I’ll start documenting trichome development over the next 4-5 weeks. More photos on the new light bar setup above in photo 3. I’m still researching the best way to “ease” my way in with the UV bulb. Probably running no more than 30 minutes total per day next week….3 ten minute sessions perhaps. Feeding Schedule below….. 10/23. Fed 1g/gallon each of MEgaCrop, Bud Explosion and Sweet Candy. 900 ppm feed at 6.5 ph. 1400 ppm runoff. Fed 4 gallons total. 10/24. Fed 4 gallons of feed at a 6.5ph and 1100ppm, 2.0 EC. Runoff was 2 gallons at 1500 ppm. Used 4g/gallon of MegaCrop and 1g/gallon of Bud Explosion. 10/25. Fed 4 gallons of feed at 6.5 ph and 1150ppm. Added Terpinator, Epsom Salt, Megacrop and Bud Explosion. 1600ppm runoff. Tomorrow will be water only. 10/26. Fed 3 gallons of feed at 6.5 ph and 950 ppm. Added homemade Terpinator at 5ml/gallon. 10/27. No feeding today. Will let the roots dry out a bit. 10//28. Fed 4 gallons. 1.5 gallons runoff. Ph in at 6.5. Ph out at 6.0. Ppm fed at 1050. Runoff ppm at 1600 10/29. Feeding 3 gallons of water with 5ml/gallon of Terpinator and 1g/ gallon of Bud Explosion. 650ppm 6.5 ph. Runoff at 1600 ppm. Burnt tips on leaves….slowing down my feeding. MegaCrop, Bud Explosion and Sweet Candy at 1g/gallon. Feeding Homemade Terpinator for increased trichome production. That’s a $26 savings by making my own quart. And the recipe for Terpinator courtesy of Dr. Who on another site SO then 95 grams (volumetric math) of that Potassium sulfate powder from Amazon into 1 quart of RO water for the 10% solution. Add the .5 tsp of Dark brown Sugar for the carbs. Mix well till everything is dissolved and jug it! FEED CHART (DO NOT mix with Silica - this causes a chemical reaction - precipitation) STARTING Week 3&4 ! 4-ml in 1 gallon of your feed At week 5&6 6-ml in 1 gallon of your feed At week 7 till harvest 8-ml in 1 gallon of your feed

Entering week 6 of flower and things are looking good so far. This is reportedly a 7-9 week flowering strain, but I bet I go 10+ weeks. Canopy is thicker than I would like to see, but I believe I’m too far into flower to defoliate further. My concern is air movement around colas and preventing bud rot. I will be researching defoliation today. Colas are surprisingly small on one Blue Dream and even smaller on the other. Perhaps this strain doesn’t produce large colas, or I’ve done something wrong. 3 fans on the canopy (1 from below, 2 from above) to keep air moving. The oscillating fans are programmed to run at higher speeds as temperatures rise, so the plants get a break from the high velocity at night. Fingers crossed this is enough. I decided to test some ACI sidelight LEDs. After an easy install, I decided to order another set to get more light around the SCROG canopy. If I had defoliated better, it would not be as much of an issue. But based on the easy manageability and the flat canopy, I’m planning to stick with SCROG in the future. So far I’m not seeing any light stress near these sidelights. Recommended at 100% intensity and 6 inch distance. Also added the Agromax UVB lamp and tested that yesterday. I plan to run it for three 10 minute sessions per day. I will increase next week. Seeing some nutrient burn and possibly light burn on a few leaves otherwise. I Fed 3 gallons of 6.5 ph nutrients at 800ppm today. Runoff at 1400 ppm. So Im not seeing any heavy salt buildup any more…..not like before when I was over 2000 ppm runoff. UV Exposure notes: More trichome development on the rear of canopy by day 4. I think Im seeing a difference with UV. Front buds could be blocked by LED, and UV rays don’t reflect off Mylar tent walls. So I suspect the rear buds will end up more frosty unless I shift the lamp location around every day. Feeding notes for the week (the boring stuff) Sunday. 3 gallons, 6.5 ph, 800 ppm, runoff at 1400 ppm. Used 3grams/gallon of MegaCrog, 5ml/gallon of homemade Terpinator, 8ml of Cal Mag total. Monday. 3 gallons with Floraclean….waited 30 minutes, then 2 gallons with Megacrop (2gram/gallon), Terpinator, Sweet Candy and Bud Explosion at 1g/gallon. Trying to flush some excess salts from soil due to burnt leaf tips. Tuesday. No water or nutrients today. Let them dry out. Wednesday Fed 4 gallons of water with 4.8g/gallon of MegaCrop and 5ml/gallon of Terpinator. 850 feed ppm. 1300 runoff ppm. 6.5 ph on feed. Forgot to add CalMag despite adding a gallon of RO water! Dangit! Thursday: added 2.75 gallons of water without MegaCrop. Added 1g/gallon of Bud Explosion, 6ml/gallon of homemade Terpinator. Ph to 6.5. 4 ml Cal mag too. Friday. No water or nutrients Saturday. Watered with 5g/gallon MC and 1g/gallon of Bud Explosion

Here we are…..week 7 of flower with a 7-9 week strain. One plant will be ready in two weeks likely, the other is moving more slowly. This is week 2 under a UV lamp which is reported to increase trichome density. So far Im seeing improvements. This week I’m increasing exposure from 3 10-minute sessions per day to 4 10-minute sessions per day. Updates to follow daily. Watching trichomes for harvest time. I’m within two weeks and stopping nutrients. Feeding Notes (the Boring stuff) Sunday. 2 gallons of water ph at 6.5 ppm 850. Used 1g/gallon of bud explosions and sweet Candy. Used 6ml/gallon of Homemade Terpinator. Monday. 2 gallons, same mix as Sunday. Lighter feed. Leaves are green and beautiful with some mild burnt tips from past feedings. Tuesday. Fed 4 gallons at 6.5 ph and 950ppm. Runoff at 1700ppm. 4g/gallon of Megacrop and 1g/gallon of Bud Explosion. Wednesday. Fed 3 gallons. 6.5 ph. 650 ppm. No fertilizer, but added Terpinator and GH Liquid Koolbloom. Basically starting to fade nutrients for harvest. Thursday: pots still heavy, so no additional feeding today Friday: water only, no nutes. Added some Terpinator and CalMag, but no nutrients. Saturday: end of week 7. No water or nutrients today. UV lamp timing to increase this week to four 10-minute sessions per 12 hour period of light.

Week 8 of flower now begins on this Blue Dream, which is a 7-9 week flowering strain. The harvest window for Blue Dream 2 has opened. Samples taken and dried in the dehydrator were excellent and it is ready to harvest any time now. The other Blue Dream is dragging her feet and at least a week behind. I’m planning to use this tent for drying, so both plants need to come down at the same time ideally. I plan to dry at 68 degrees and 55 percent humidity. Guessing two more weeks…..harvest at week 10 unless I see a lot more amber trichomes popping up. I think I’m safe. Friday Update…..go figure, one plant is mature and the other won’t be mature until after thanksgiving. Given I’m hosting a Thanksgiving dinner, I needed a quick stealth drying solution so I ordered another small grow tent. That will allow me to do a partial harvest on Sunday. Expect the tent to arrive on Saturday day, so I will harvest on Saturday night. Did you hear that? We made it to HARVEST with one plant! I have green light bulbs on order and the plant is in darkness….I plan to harvest in the dark. Feels great! Running UV light more aggressively this last week….4 30-minute sessions per day. Feeding Notes (the boring stuff) - No more nutrients planned prior to harvest. Sunday. 2.5 gallons of tap water with 5 ml cal Mag, 6ml/gallon of Homemade Terpinator and ph down to 6.5. Monday. 3.5 gallons of tap water with 3 ml CalMag, 16 ml of GH liquid koolbloom and ph down to 6.7. 650 ppm feed. 1600 ppm runoff. Tuesday. No water or feed. Wednesday: 3.5 gallons of tap water with 5ml of CalMag, 6ml / gallon of Terpinator and ph down to 6.5 Thursday. No activity. Pots are heavy and full of water. Not drinking as much water lately. Friday. Watered ( No nutes) Blue Dream #1 ( immature one). No water for the plant scheduled for harvest on Sunday. Want to stress her out. No more nutes planned….just Terpinator, Cal Mag and Ph down..

Nothing but water, Terpinator and Epsom salts from this point out….want to starve her a little. I harvested her Blue Dream sister this morning and she had a LOT of larf. I need to clean up bud sites below the canopy the next time I SCROG. Better defoliation and more selective pruning will make my next grow better. Released scrog net and centered plant under light. Now we wait for the trichomes to change. My small drying tent is full with the first plant, so I’m in no rush and hope she gives me a few more days. Friday update. Harvested plant was hang drying in tent with 58% humidity for 5 days. I overdried it to 50% humidity. Won’t be my best batch. I added a few fresh leaves to add some humidity, but the cure is unfortunately finished.

Plant still seems thirsty, so I don’t think she’s done yet. Trichomes also showing a mix of 60/40 cloudy/clear. This is week 10 too, so I’m surprised. Watered on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Still starving her for a final flush and it’s starting to show in her leaves. Another week or so based on the trichomes. This plant has really taken off as soon as I harvested plant number 2 and gave her more light and space. Next grow, I’ll skip the SCROG. Soooooooo close to harvesting this week, but not quite. One more week of of veg is likely. Next week should be the finale and allow me time to get the tent ready for the next two plants.

Grow Questions

I would appreciate another set of eyes to tell me if the harvest window is open on my Blue Dream. Leaves and pistils say yes, trichomes say “maybe”. This is a 7-9 week flowering strain and I’m starting week #11 tomorrow. I just moved her to a dark tent for 48 hours of darkness

If you're not looking for heavy amber, I would chop her now! (I don't think a period of dark does anything, personally)... Chop, chop.... and enjoy the smokes! Good luck and congrats!

Sooooo close to harvest, but waiting for a few more amber trichomes. Nothing but water and homemade Terpinator now. I asked a grow question and the consensus is that it’s time to chop her down. Looks like I’ll harvest on Tuesday or Wednesday. I plan to harvest under green lights after 12 hours of darkness.
