Growing in Fox Farm Ocean Forest. Got the room in the 90s one day and kinda fried the little guys a bit. I had the lights on full intensity at first too by mistake.

Cotton Candy is growing nicely but have some strange patterning and leaf shape. (See photos) Perhaps this is TMV?... I accidentally broke a lower node off while preforming LST on the Gorilla Glue. Oops. It's far less flexible than the Cotton Candy Kush.

I decided to bend the tops over and continue spreading out the canopy with LST. This worked great on the lankier Cotton Candy Kush; however, I feel it was a mistake with the Gorilla Glue. The Gorilla Glue is stumpier and far less flexible. Bending the top over cause the stem to crack within a few days of new growth. It has now healed back, but I'm sure it caused some unnecessary stress. I over watered one day this week as well. Still learning...but at least now I know what that looks like. 😂 Light defoliation as well to allow air flow and expose more nodes.

Added the SCRoG and lightly defoliated at start of this week. Gorilla Glue is in pre-flower. I think I got a bit of nitrogen toxicity because the new leaf growth is small, slender and curled. I have been giving only pH'd water for the last 3 days.

I realize now that it wasn't a nutrient issue last week, but instead underwatering. My leaves were crispy paper for a couple days at end of last week. And what I thought was burning was curled over tips. So, I adjusted my watering and got them back growing. I tucked down the all the new growth on the Cotton Candy Kush and continued to spread it out. Gorilla Glue is flowering now, and Cotton Candy Kush is about there too. Lollipopped the Gorilla Glue about mid-week, and now starting to see some sugar leaves.

Cotton Candy Kush got a lot more bud sites this week, but it is getting pretty cramped with so many leaves at canopy level. The Gorilla Glue is sticky now and smells like honeydew melon. Switched from grow to bloom nutrients this week and adding silica as well.

Just watching the buds grow now. Removed a few inside leaves from the Cotton Candy Kush to expose secondary bud sites. Gorilla Glue flowers got bigger and sticker this week. Both buds and sugar leaves have lots of trichomes now.

Cotton Candy Kush was getting crowded, so I defoliated again this week. Buds are getting taller now and filling out. It’s on day 44 of flower. The Gorilla Glue is on day 48 and supposed to be ripe around day 60. It already has some amber trichomes on the sugar leaves but only clear and cloudy in the buds themselves, still a few white pistols left too (5%). Both should be ready around Dec 15th.

Gorilla Glue is almost there! It has a few amber trichomes on the top buds now. I’m just waiting a bit longer, maybe mid-week, to harvest. Began flushing with pH’d tap water mid week. Cotton Candy Kush is covered in new pistils and the buds have been growing larger. I suspect it will need to go a bit longer than the GG. One bud is getting some deficiency or dieback on it, not entirely sure. See photos. Thoughts welcome.

What’s going on with this one bud on Cotton Candy Kush plant? It has some leaves dying. No damage to the stem & only bud looking this way. It’s on day 50 of flower and has been getting lighter leaves overall this week. It’s supposed to flower 50-60 days, according to the breeder.

When I look at the whole plant and at this bud I can only say good job she is almost ready for harvest. This is 100% natural, cannabis is a one season plant so after producing the buds she will fade colours and start dying. Not every bud is ripening at exactly the same moment. Soon all the buds will show you these signs. Look at the trichomes. When 70% is cloudy and 10% amber she is at full potency and ready for harvest. Again not every bud is ripening at the same speed. So you can choose to harvest parts of the plant each time. Or and this got my preference, harvest everything in 1 time when the largest part of the plant is at full potency. This way you get a different high from different parts from the same plant. Happy Harvest!

Chopped the Gorilla Glue. I definitely think I stunted it a bit with the HST, which cracked the main stem open. Also, while learning how to water properly. I couldn’t be happier with myself and results though. Will have more photos and details to come after drying process. Thanks again to everyone who has help me getting to this point. 🤘💚

Been flushing the Cotton Candy Kush this week. It’s on day 58 of flower and has begun to change colors. The trichomes have just started turning cloudy in some areas. I think it still needs some time but it supposed flower for 50-60 days. Removing it from the SCROG took half an hour 😂. I had a staggered harvest so I had to remove this and the Gorilla Glue with out cutting the net. 🥅 Won’t do that again. Gorilla Glue drying going well so far 👍

ultimately its up to the grower and what the end product will be used for. for personal flower i like to harvest at what would seem to be about 15% amber in the buds, not the main colas but the mids. mains will tend to ripen before the rest just as the sugar leaves tend to get ripe trichomes first. where shes an indica id probably wait for more amber if it were me.

@Gorgonite, yeah after tomorrows update i will be chopping her probably monday or tuesday. then i will follow up next sunday with the harvest update. i believe this strain could look really really pretty and take on great color in the final weeks of flower if provided low temps. i personally cannot keep my tent low temps untill after this grow i plan to rework the air system.

Hey buddy. So, I see this is your 1st grow. I like your tech. So, few tips I'd love to have known, at this stage of growth. The pattern you worried about in week 2-3 is a pigment mutation, nothing all. As you are still in the growth stage, (pre flower) don't worry about heavy bloom feed. But you need to level out the feeding..or even drop to to less grow more bloom it'll start to come out of pre flower with 15 days of it starting.. then and only then, do you need to worry about opening up b bud sites, as in pre flower ALL LEAFS are needed for the formation of bud sites. The less leafs, the more likely hood of having airy bud(larf) unless done right. (I just don't defol at all until I'm easy out of pre flower.. up to day 20, and beyond I wait now..I rotate and move my girls. But, as you are in a net. You'll need to leaf tuck and do defol, just wait until pre flower has past and went. You'll know when it's over, your plants nodes will stop growing.. and to try not get excess stretching, try keep it within a 4c range. So, best to have your light on when it's coldest and have rest time you can turn it off on the hottest. They autos so, doesn't matter as much. But, unwanted stretching can happen in pre flower just as much in autos as it does in fems. Good luck buddy. You doing a great job. Drop the lowering grow and pushing PK.. but, don't lower N too much until pre flower is done with.

Gorgonitecommented2 years ago
@gottagrowsometime, Thanks for the tips! That's a relief about the TMV markings. I was able to rotate the plants daily until they reached the net. And was definitely confused about defoliation so thanks for setting me straight. What did you mean " Drop the lowering grow and pushing PK" part at the end? I had planned on using Botanicares Bloom Formula for Soil starting this week and possibly SilicaBlast by them as well.

looking great! most of my cck turned out just like this, while one was a pheno producing mad amounts of trichomes. and yes i too struggled with my trellis ourdoor this year as i had many plants and strains coming down at different times. its tough.

Great work for your first run my friend. May I recommend checking out our tutorial series here & in video form on youtube. We cover everything from watering volume to how to apply aggressive PAR properly. I am retired from running some big legacy grows here in B.C and am now trying to help all growers learn how to grow at the highest level so there is tons of good info for all levels of growers. I look forward to seeing your next grow!
