Noela This grow is more of an experiment to see what happens, but I had a few seeds from an unknown strain and figured why not see if the seeds pop. Two of the four seeds popped so here we are. I will be growing in a spacebucket just like in my other diary, but I did decide to start these on a 12:12 light schedule to see if they will show their sex quicker. I decided to give them female names even though at this point I don't know the sex and wont until they start showings signs of flowering. The power of positive thinking right? So let the waiting game begin!

Noela Started watering these runts this week with a little added molasses. Not a whole lot of growth so far especially in comparison to my other diary, but I guess that could be related to the light schedule being 12:12 instead of 18:6. Still curious to see how these mystery seeds grow :)

Noela I have been "fondly" referring to these two as my mutants because of how strange their growth has been so far. Neither of them have developed any leaves that have more than 3 fingers at this point, so all of their leaves besides their initial leaves are all tri-fingered. Although their growth is slower than my other diary I feel like they are finally starting to take off on growing. So I will continue to work on these two just because I am curious to see if they will end up female or not.

Noela These two are finally starting to take off. Still no 7 fingered leaves only 3s and 5s, but it looks like Thumbelina has pistils already. So I have one female for sure, Large Marge is the still a mystery at this point so I will have to keep a close eye on her, just in case she ends up being a male. If that's the case I will cut Marge and keep Thumbelina for harvest, but until then I'm still hoping for Marge to be a female. On another note I did notice that Marge had some discoloration on her bottom leaves. I've been sure to check the pH of the run off which is in normal range so I also decided to start them on half strength nutes and will increase to full strength next week.

Noela I'm surprised to announce I have two girls on my hands, the last thing I thought would happen. I figured I'd get lucky if I ended up with one girl but by some miracle I got two! I honestly wasn't expecting much to come of either of these two but they have surprised me so far, so I'm going to keep at it. Thumbelina is definitely the bigger of the two which I find funny given her name, I figured she would be the smaller one, but she has really take off in this last week. Large Marge is chugging along slowly but surely, she seems to be have the same issue with her lower leaves that my other plant is having, but it doesn't look like Thumbelina has really been affected at least not yet. I'll continue to monitor their pH and have started them on full strength flowering nutrients. Time to see what these girls can do :)

Noela These girls seem to be doing pretty well. Dealing with some nutrient burn on the lower leaves so they only received water and molasses this week and I will restart their nutrients next week at half strength. At this point I think they will continue with only 5 fingered leaves, neither of them ever developed leaves with more than 5 fingers. I'm not sure if that's just a mutation or the strain, but I thought that mature plants had 7 to 9 fingered leaves? Either way they are still growing tall, Thumbelina is at 10 inches and Marge is close behind at 7 inches. I also decided to add another bulb to the setup this week since I only started with 2, so now I'm up to 180W of CFLs. Now just time for them to fatten up and start developing their lower bud sites :)

Noela Proud of these girls, they may not be perfect but they are producing and thats all I could ask for. They are starting to develop a lot more but I'm not expecting a whole lot of yield from them because of their size. The way I look at it though was that these were not expected to be female so I've already won in one sense because I go two females that will give me some buds, so I can't complain. I'm still working on finding the right balance of nutrients for these gals but its a learning experience. Until next week, happy growing!

Noela Started to notice some of the leaves starting to yellow and dry up at the tips. Hoping it can be corrected with some cal mag but only time will tell. Until then I will watch closely and hope for the best.

Noela So the yellowing progressed crazy fast it seems. At this point I don't know what the cause is, whether it be nutrient, root, light? It's been fun experimenting with these 2 and trying to figure them out, but I fear their time is near. I will continue to watch and see if they recover.

Noela So my mutant gals didn't improve over the week and I also got news that my windows at my apratment are being replaced at sometime during this month so they need to be chopped regardless. They got flushed at the beginning of the week. Sad to see them go so early but I gave these my best shot. Will update with harvest post soon if any to harvest 😂😂
@ToadieK, Thanks :) They are finally starting to grow and look semi-normal. Still waiting on full fingered leaves but interested to see where they go from here.
