Germination day Friday Oct 7
Day 1 - placed in paper towel
Day 2 - nothing yet
Day 3 - both have a small tap root. Transplanted into there pots.
Day 4 - led dimmed to 50% and waiting.
Day 5 - And we have life!!! Both popped out.
Things are going well. Both plants are getting bigger. One seems to be outpacing the other quite a bit.
Not sure if its phenotype or environmental. The larger has a green stem while the runt has a red stem.
Both roots are white and don't look like they are rotting. Both are in the same RDWC system.
Baby girls are looking good. Increased the nutrients to 1ml/L. It's night and day looking at the two plants. Gonna be interesting to see how they both develop as they mature.
On Wed I noticed the bigger one has some brown on the lower leaves. Checked pH and it was up at 6.8! Corrected it back to 5.8
Did a water change and increase nutrients. Lower leaves still look to be getting worse. My guess is they are going to slowly die off from the initial pH fluctuation damage.
Had some strange leaf twisting 1 day after the water change. I twisted them back and they seem to be staying.
RDWC System.
- 3.5 gallon black bucket
- 5 gallon orange bucket
Piping starting from inside at the base of the black bucket
-2" uniseal
-2" 90 corner <- this is where the air stone sits.
- Reducer Bushing - Spigot x Slip - 2" Spig x 0.75" Slip
- 3/4" T split which you see at the bottom. Goes straight out for a drain with shutoff valve
- 3/4" T split at the top, This height controls the level of water in the reservoir and the top has a cap with air holes to prevent a siphon.
-Hose goes out to the reservoir.
-Reservoir has a usb pump(DC 5V 4.8W 300L/H Lift 300cm) with a 1/4" ID tube.
I drilled a hole in the tube near the pump which circulates the water in the bucket and acts as a warning that I am getting low on water.
the tube has a Y split near the buckets to spit the water between both of them.
Growing like a champ. Did some training and took some of the branches that were not growing up off. Switches to 12/12 one day after training(sunday nov 13) and tucked the big fan leaves down.
Switched to bloom nutrients week 1 off the feed chart(40% of the chart value)
Entered 6 L in the nutrient calculator for a 15L batch.
4 Part Hydro Fuel > Recirculating > Liters > 6 => https://greenplanetnutrients.ca/nutrient-calculator/
) Sunday. Massive growth between Saturday and Sunday, almost 6" I had to tuck back under the net.
Still bouncing back like crazy. EC went from 1.1 to .7 in 2 days. Added 1L dose(without water) from the nutrient calculator to the res to bring up to .8.
Created a top up batch 15L with a 8L calculation amounts.
Finished the last bit of tucking by the end of the week
Had to kill them, was a sad day. Buds were just starting to form. Had a lot of stretch but was starting to slow. Will definitely grow again to see the final product.
@Theia, Oh it did. I was excited about this one. Modified the tent so the carbon filter and fan were outside giving me an extra foot of growth. Even had a clone rooted to be a mother plant. But I cant complain, New place I have a full room to use instead of just tents in a room. Will make controlling the temp/humidity much easier.
Beautiful work. So sad about the premature chop my friend. I have been through the stress of moving so much lately I know how it feels. I came to give the likes out of respect! I followed to see what comes next :)
I noticed you use Green Planet too, I got a coupon code for them 10% off any order. Feel free to use it bro.
