Too excited for the next grow so I popped one of the other seeds into some potting soil. This was a mystery batch of 5 autos from MSNL so I will try to ID it along the way!
Has been just pH -adjusted water so far, although this most recent time I put around 500ml with Epsom and molasses to give the soil a lil sth
It's sharing the tent with one in late flower, so keeping humidity down for now. Looks good 😎
Topdressed with worm castings 5/11, watering with ph-adjusted water only, when top soil is completely dry.
I've already seen a couple of pistils at node points, so I think this one is gonna be faaaast!
Plant doing super well! I harvested my other plant today so this lil guy now has a 2x4 to itself for a few weeks before I start the next one hehe. It is under the viparspectra p1000 which is a terrific light-- due to size of tent there is also a bestva light of same size (but nowhere near same quality) two feet to the left of the vipar. The bestva light gets a lot warmer and does not have the same canopy penetration. It's good for young veggies I think, and late flower (is a warmer spectrum from what my eyes can tell, so more red for the late bloomer). I'll leave it on for the temp and humidity factor, maybe throw a solo cup under it for a future comp. We'll see! Ideally I'd like to upgrade to a single light big enough for the tent, but I can't yet justify it...
I also made a banging cannabutter last night. Life is good. Happy growing all!
All going swimmingly...
Mostly LST and tucking, although I have removed two of the bud sites from underneath the plant.
Mostly water, although there has been one feed of molasses and epsom, and another with a very small dose of nutes. I don't want to overfeed this baby and I'm curious to see how far the soil will go with topdresses of WC, the molasses and epsom :) next top dress of worms in a week or two.
Removed some of the smaller bud sites down-stem, light defoliation (because leaves touching/overlapping.
Fed with 1tbsp blackstrap molasses per 5L, every other watering. Water is left for 24hrs to dechlorinate before adding anything or using!
If I need to adjust pH I do that with orange juice, or lime juice!
I have once fed this plant with nutes and that was probably only around 1ml/gallon calmag, 1ml/g veg, 2ml/g bloom a week ago. I am trying to keep the feed nice and light this grow/focus on soil instead/see where that gets me! Will give if she asks for it of course, but that hasn't happened yet!
More lst (v light at this point- mostly leaf-tucking) and removed a couple bud sites lower down stems to promote top cola growth.
Topdressed with Gaia green dry ferts- not the measurements listed above as there wasn't a tbsp option... But it was a ratio slightly favouring bloom. pH adjusted water 6-6.5. Plant seems happy so far 😌
I did notice that the calyces are pinkish/purp and will continue to look for signs to help ID this plant as it continues to flower ✊
Thanks for stopping by!
Oh my days. So things were going all right this week until MY INLINE FAN FELL from it's holding place and pulled the whole cross bar of the tent down along with both lights... Everything fell directly on to the plants. The little ones were flexible and will recover, they just have a few scars. This one though, fuck my life. Broken stems in 3 places, which I tried to tie up and we'll see if it recovers. On top of that, obviously every single bud site got crushed by the light and now looks like shite! Pistils early orange/brown, crispy lookin' and obviously crushed. I don't even know whether to carry on... So disappointed.
The last photo this week shows you what burn from led panel light looks like when it falls directly onto your plant 😂 it was only there for a few seconds; obviously I heard the crash and went right away. Lucky I was home I guess.
Anyway I guess I'll carry on watering it and see how much an auto can recover two weeks into flower after a catastrophe like this... I'll consider this grow yet another experiment and hopefully the next one is actually safe and gets me where I want to go 😂🤦♂️ what a frustrating hobby we have eh
Plant seems to be slowly recovering from the lights falling on it .. obviously it won't fully recover and it will be high risk for rot and other problems due to the injuries and burnt pistils all over and so on :(
But she perseveres!
Got some unsurprising foxtailing happening, moved light up a couple of inches
This plant is in all soil, and I'm beginning to see the problems with that. Very dense substrate and water draining time is slow. (Other plants in diff mixes- I'm experimenting)
There's also nutrient problems, what looks like calcium def, and I've been supplementing water with epsom or calmag. Think it may also be pH related due to watering with molasses which lowers pH significantly.
At the end of last week I removed one of the flowers that was recovering waaay slower than the others. Glad I did so because since then the others are bouncing back. She's looking all right. She also looks just like the purple lemonade I just grew - could I have gotten two of the same in a mix of five? This one smells a lot more, and more sweet, than the last - and much more my thing. Could that be the difference between coco and soil?
Flushed this week 🌊
Topdressed 1tbsp bloom 🌼
21/12 Fed with .5ml/L bloom and calmed ⚕️
I went away for new years so a couple of days late to updating. I probably could have harvested it before I left, but a good amount of senescence happened while I was out so I'm glad I waited and left it in the hands of a self-described "plant killer" 😂
This purple lemonade encountered the same problems as the one before- leaves showed deficiencies throughout despite, I think, my better care of her. It also had exactly the same foxtailing as the other seed, so thinking that's an inherited trait. Hungry leaves and that seems to be a thing for this cultivar. Bud smells so much better though! And more frosty. Soil Vs Coco (1-0) will come back with more post-cure ;)
