10/23 Light adjusted to 375 PAR. Added ¼ tsp of recharge and about 1ml of ArmorSi silica to about .75 gallons of distilled water. Adjusted PH down to 6.5. Likely to start LST soon.
10/24 First sign of little white pistils on both. Started LST today, maybe waited a bit too long to start but at least it went well.
10/25 Adjusted light to 26” and a PAR setting of 415. Both have adjusted upright from yesterday’s LST, but I’ll leave them be for another day or 2 before I do more.
10/26 The past 2 days have been unusually warm out. Day time temps in my tent have been spiking up into the 80s, and now I may be seeing the first signs of heat stress. It was about time to turn up the oscillating fan speed anyway so I went and did that. Also gave each a ¼ gal of water, 6.3 PH, just to make sure the roots stay cool.
10/27 The temps outside are dropping finally and now the tent is back to where it should be. Some new growth has a twisted look however, and it occurs to me that my last bump up in PAR coincided with the 2 day heat wave. Likely had a combo of extra heat and extra light that added together for some stress. I bumped up the light height just a few clicks to bring the new PAR setting down a touch to 410 while they get back to health. Did more LST on R, but L is still a bit behind so I’ll wait before it’s next round.
*Late night change* - Started to see new growth showing with yellow on the tips. I also discovered that when testing PAR intensity I can greatly manipulate the number depending on how much of my door is hanging near the plants (due to the reflective interior). Since I’m basing my light height and dimmer based off of PAR readings, I’m going to take measurements with the door half zipped up from now on. For example, earlier today I had the PAR setting at 410, but with the door half zipped I was in the mid 500s, FAR too high. I backed it down so it reads about 400 half zipped up, which astonishingly only reads about 315 PAR with the door wide open. This seems like it will be a major point of emphasis for myself going forward.
Haha, I’m reading your light schedule and adjustments back and forth. Laughing because that sounds like me. Constantly adjusting my lights. Optimization is what I call it. Your girls look great. I’m growing this strain on my next run, probably within a couple weeks.
Saw your note about the temp, they should be good to get pretty cold. Another of my concerns. Good luck with your grow. Take care
@@StinkyBudz, the light schedule changes was me trying everything I could to keep the temperature stable during the night. It did get down to the low 60s for those few nights but not any lower thankfully. Almost kept them at full 24 hours even after I fixed the furnace but that schedule just seems too unnatural.
The PAR changes are by design though. I'll be slowly turning up the intensity every few days until I finally hit about 700-800 or so. Really trying to emphasize slow and steady.
Looking good. I have a 3 pack on the way of Sour Stomper. Watching your grow. I saw you topped, I don’t think I will this round. I want to see your LST. Good luck on your grow. Happy harvest. Hope your buds are some StinkyBudz
@@StinkyBudz, I haven't topped and likely won't for these 2. The plan is to eventually LST, lollipop, and do general defoliation once the time is right.
@nerdz, Thanks for that. Yeah I wish I could have let them go longer but they weren't doing hot. The weed I did get though is pretty great, which was shocking. I'll do the harvest report soon now that it's been curing for a few weeks.
