I wanted to document my little garden of cannabonsai mother plants, just in case.....aphids have invaded my grow tents. There arent many on the mothers but I trimmed unnecessary leaves, removed any soft ties and took these pics just before dousing the girls in insecticidal soap. In case something horrible happens, I wanted a record of these little ladies cause I think they've turned out well in form and function.
The oldest is the MAC, cloned early May and the GG and BB are the youngest, grown from seed at the end of August.
The Bubba Kush is 34th Street from ocs.ca, surprisingly potent, would definitely recommend
The ladies survived the soap treatment and are doing well. Did a major defoliation and spotted a coupla aphids on the SC so I gave them all another dose of the insecticidal soap. The cuttings I took off the GG all rooted, I think maybe the seedling heat mat I bought made the difference, hard to say for sure as the GG seems to clone more easily than most of the others
Spotted some more aphids so decided it was time for another radical defoliation followed by another soap treatment. I'm very happy with the shapes I've been able to twist them into, my general goal was to make them grow a halo/ring out of the main stem and grow cuttings off that.
Dec 14 - added pics of the MAC mom's roots when I slid her out of her solo cup. I cut away about two thirds and put her back in another cup with fresh soil. Noticed all mothers are showing some nitrogen deficiency (yellowing) so I'm gonna bump up the micro in the next feeding (has more N than the grow nutes)
I keep getting these spots developing on my oldest mother, the MAC. She's probably rootbound, it's been about 4 months since she potted up. I need to keep her in a cup for space, will deficiency get better if I just trim about 50% roots and plant back in a cup with fresh soil?
I would try and invent in a bigger cup. Looks like it wants more phosphorous or some calcium. maybe give it a nice flush if you don't plan on transplanting up in size. Then some fresh feed. could be a buildup in the medium given how small the pot is. If you root prune use clean shears and sterile soil or you might shock it to a early death,

Added a Kosher Haze clone to my happy family/brood of mothers. I've got a surplus of MAC from the fall harvest and back up seeds of the Strawberry Cookies so I decided to see what they look like when they flower. Transferred them to larger pots, approx 1 litre and will veg them until the end of the year before flipping them.
Aphids continue to be a minor pain in the ass. I dont think they're doing any harm, I've never seen more than a single shitsipper at a time, just frustrating that it seems I'll never be completely free from the little fuckers...
MAC, White Widow and the Strawberry Cookies have all been potted up from a solo cup to ~1 litre pots. I changed the SC to coco/perlite to see if i could, shes fine now but comparison to the ones kept in soil suggest the change was stressful. All this is being done in preparation for flipping these 3 to 12/12 - i can't wait to see what these girls look like in flower. They've already blossomed into little shrubs, I'm really curious to see what they do during the stretch
They're doing great, starting out as bond bonsais seems to have made for very little space between nodes which should make for nice dense buds. Defoliated and pruned lower budsites. Yield may not be great but they should make some good quality bud
Everything is looking good...I like the way its grown compact with short internodal spaces so I've started twisting some clones in solo cups to create more bonsais to make some little shrubs
