DWC clone (FAIL) vs. Outdoor organic

This is going to be a true test. I’ve heard from some people that outdoor organic weed is the best smoke if done properly. I’ve heard from others that nothing beats DWC. Let’s test it out! I did a near perfect outdoor grow and will be able to do a true side by side. If if you would like to check out my outdoor grandpas stash diary, I feel like I couldn’t have done better. So I took a clone of the exact genetics and am running that in DWC. I’m going to be using main line HST for this grow and fill my tent with a single plant. Hopefully I’ll be done growing and curing in 17-20 weeks and will have samples to side by side. This will put the theories to the test. Winter experiments are fun!

I had another mouldy water issue but I solved it. The filter I was using for water was contaminated, so I had to do a peroxide wash. She is starting to form new roots and is beginning to bounce back. Very frustrating start but I’ve learned a lot.

Holy schniekees I brought her back from the dead. Roots are almost in water and I’ll be back to ripping next week. Going to take a long time but I enjoy learning new things. The learning curve switching from growing in soil has been steep. But I’m pretty confident she’s going to take off any minute.

My advanced micro was what was causing all my problems for the last 2 months. A friend of mine had the same issue. I will not be running advanced nutes again.

I abandoned the dwc. I couldn’t get my water and root rot to clean up and go away. I cloned them and am going back to organic soil with the gals! Oh well, I’ll be able to compare indoor to outdoor anyways. Next winter I will try dwc again, but for now it’s back to soil for this guy. Happy growing everyone!

They are growing fast and strong. Topped today and now the scrog net will be set up later this week. Will probably flip to flower next week. Gpa’s stash is a freeeeaaaaak!

Topped the gals and started the scrog. The flip to flower happens tomorrow. Nothing to report. Topping stunted growth for 4 days in case others are referencing this. Happy days.

So far not bad. I started 12-12 4 days ago and I think they just started flowering. Next week will be a full week of flower for sure. The difference between indoor and outdoor is pretty cool. She smells a lot more dank. Has the classic skunky Kush smell. I’m excited to see what happens over the next 7 weeks. Cheers 🍻.

Well she had a full week of flower. The gals have exploded and are starting to show lil buds. Next week I’m assuming the trichomes party will begin. Smells very good.

Full blown transition to flower. She’s drinking a lot and is looking healthy. This batch of soil doesn’t seem to have any bugs so far which is nice fingers crossed 🤞🏻. 45ml of Gaia green bloom added to the topsoil today. Last feeding of the cycle, which is super easy. Canuck guy grows style is by far the easiest way to grow organic. Cheers 🍻.

I had a crazy week of some positive and negative experiments. I had never done a defol in flower before l, but boy does it make a huge difference. As you can see in the photos, the proof is in the pudding. I kinda feel like an idiot for not doing it on my other grows but hey, live and learn. Buuuuut I did over water two plants going from 1.5L to 2L. By the time I got home Sunday I noticed small spots start. Two plants were over watered and one is more damaged than the other. The plant on the left is perfect, forming beautiful colas. The smell of rotting living soil is starting to subside, but it’ll require another day or two of drying. I love weed. ❤️ 🍃 💨

Still cruising along! After over watering the girls are drinking heavily again. Back into the swing of things. Looking like it’ll be a 8 week flower on the indoors.

Pretty standard from here on out. Just have to make sure not to over water. This strain doesn’t like being soaked and is still drinking the same amount as late veg. She’s definitely ripping and we are just about to enter late flower. Might hit her with overdrive this week but am unsure. Smells sweet and piney.

The gals ran out of potassium. I had some advanced overdrive kicking around so I’m going to add for this coming week. So I believe a half dose of top dress flower 2 weeks ago would have been perfect. Grandpas stash is nute hungry. You can throw the kitchen sink at it.

Any day now, she’s starting to fully cloud up quickly. Probably 3-5 days. I’m excited to see how the indoor compares to the outdoor, getting pretty close now.

So it turns out they were not ready. They are day to day but the flowering time is longer indoors than outdoors. It’s pretty cool to see the difference in the plants between the outdoor and indoor. Harvest will be any day now. Trichomes are 90 cloudy 10 clear with the odd Amber. Pistil hairs are 50/50 red to white. Smelling stronger each day and getting more piney with time. Its going to be an awesome smoke.

This strain is very nute hungry. I would recommend feeding right until the end, and even upping the feeding of potassium in weeks 6 and 7. Indoors was 8.5 weeks of flower. Very stanky.
