Hello. This is the start of my Mt. Blanc diary.
I like to start my seeds in a glass of filtered water. To this water I add 4 or 5 drops of 30% hydrogen peroxide and some cinnamon and some rooting gel.
Then after 24 hours I put the seeds in a paper towel inside a plastic container with a lid and put it where it will be warm, above 20*c and check in another 24 hours.
All 6 sprouted and I put them in peat pellets inside soil in solo cups.
It looks like 4 out of 6 came up. Oh well, that's what I'll go with.
Sativa dom- 60%
9 to 10 weeks of flowering.
Yield - High
Height - med to tall.
THC - 28% to 29%
French Cookies x Birthday Cake and that was crossed with Strawnana Cream
Smell/Taste - Sweet Creamy Fruit. Like a Creamy vanilla dessert with a touch of butter and fruit cake. Sounds Delicious.
Effect - Energetic, followed by a deep body stone.
Not hard to trim and the buds are heavy, sticky and full of resin.
Cookie and cake parents.
Good for extracts and it's another hash makers dream.
There was one free seed of French Macarons with this package, it sprouted, but it didn't come up.
Ok, Hope that's enough info.
Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of germination and the beginning of week 1 of veg.
I've been fairly busy this week, so this is a quick report.
All the plants are doing well. Just gave their first food last night.
I'll fill the nutrient's part out next week.
Keep Growing Straight.
Hello. This is the end of week 1 and the beginning of week2 of veg.
The little seedlings are doing good. They are a little lighter green than I would like, so they will get more food next time I water.
A cannabis crossword puzzle this week.
Til Then. Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 2 and the beginning of week 3 of veg.
Thing are going good in here. The plants are growing well with no problems I can see.
These lower leaves sure are wide, like pure indica leaves. The breeder's description said 60% sativa, so I wasn't expecting such wide leaves.
Got the heater on at night now, to keep them warm.
Till then. Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 3 and the beginning of week 4 of veg.
These plants are doing good. All seem healthy.
I've topped them and took off some bottom leaves to get the branches growing out. More tops, more big buds.
Put up a picture of Fat Freddie's Cat. I wore it on a t-shirt for years. Most people don't know F.F. Cat, but those who did gave a big smile. I got the iron on transfer paper at Staples, but an office supply co. might have some. And make your own t-shirts that say what you want.
Ok. Best of Luck. Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 4 and the beginning of week 5 of veg.
About a week and 1/2 ago I let the plant get too dry for a day and they wilted. I have some brown spots on the ends of the leaves from that where some cells died. 😔
They are doing good now. It's funny that this strain, that is sativa dom, has leaves this wide.
It's got some good genetics in it. French Cookies x Birthday Cake. And then that strain was crossed with Strawnana Cream. Should taste wonderful.
Ok. Take it easy and be cool.
Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 5 and the beginning of week 6 of veg.
The plants are doing well. They are putting out big fat leaves now.
I'm thinking about getting them into bigger pots maybe this week or the next.
Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 6 and the beginning of week 7 of veg.
These plants are looking good. Very indica looking for a sativa dominant plant with cookie and cake parents.
The top branches are growing well after topping. I'll repot later this week and start training the week after that.
All my potting soil froze, from below freezing temps around here this week. I don't have a heater in that greenhouse.
Spent 2.5 hours this morning making little paths in the 30 to 40 cm of snow we had here last night. We don't get much snow around here, so it pretty much shut down the city this morning.
Ok. Good Luck. Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 7 and the beginning of week 8 of veg.
The plant are doing well. I see they need some more food, they have some yellowing of the leaves.
I meant to repot last week but winter got in the way. It got down to -9 c with lots of snow, shut down the city. Now its 12 c and all the snow has been rained on and has mostly disappeared, so I should be able to repot this week and get them into a tent of their own.
I forgot the puzzle last week, sorry. Here's another one. I had a blank wall so I cut out some pictures and put them up. Being creative. I had fun. I like to look at it.
Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 8 and the beginning of week 9 of veg.
Man, I just didn't have time to repot these plant over the holidays. With people over and things to do. The one time I did had to repot these plants, I took a nap. Oh Well.
It's supposed to rain most of this week so I'll have lots of time to repot them. I bought some tomato cages that I'll adapt for these plant. They are a little longer than is needed and I want to cut the smallest bottom ring off.
The plants are looking good. Maybe a little lighter green than normal so I'll add some bone or blood meal for a bit more nitrogen.
See ya next week. Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 9 and the beginning of week 10 of veg.
I've finally found time to repot these beautiful plants. These plant are shorter and more bushy than a sativa dom plant should be. I guess it's the name. I sort of expect a big and tall plant if it's named after a mountain. So it's sort of confusing to see a short bushy plant with a Mt. Blanc name on it. 😏
I buy my soil by the bale. It's made in Canada (like me) so it doesn't cost alot to ship.
It's - Sunshine Mix #4. I've used for 20 years or more and it's very consistent, always the same. I can count on it. I also use it for all my clones and seedlings too.
It's site is sungro.com They have got more products than I knew about when I visited the site.
I tried to show that I drill extra holes in the pot that I cover with the gardeners felt. The felt helps draw more air into the root zone after the water has passed through it.
I was made in Canada and this soil is made in Canada. I can get it for fairly cheaply, and I know it's better for the planet than using something that is shipped half way across the world (coco coir has to be shipped in from the tropics where it grows). I also buy my perlite and vermiculite from Canadian sources too. The nutrient I use is made on the same island I live on (not much shipping cost there).
See ya next week. Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 10 and the beginning of week 11 of veg.
These plants are doing well. Everybody is growing great. I would like to get in here this week and do some training. Getting my mainlines going out straight and setting up cuttings for clones. I like to leave some smaller bottom branches when I trim up, for clones in a couple of weeks. Always take clones in the veg state before you flip to flowering. Going to mix up a big batch of grow nutrient for these beauty's.
Got out my crystal and gemstone collection this week. Been collecting for years. Got some big ones when I was young, collected when walking along the beach or in the mountains, I always liked the metaphysical stores.
Have Fun. Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 11 and the beginning of week 12 of veg.
Did some trimming/LST this week. Managed to pull all the branches down. I ready to go up for here. I got the tomato cages in early to tie up the heavy buds up to.
These plant are doing good and growing well. They are over the repotting stress and are starting to take off now. It will be a couple of week before turning over to flowering.
I'll let them grow for a while, but I've still got do some more trimming/LST and clone taking before turning over to flowering.
Keep Growing Straight.
Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 12 and the beginning of week 13 of veg.
Was really busy last week harvesting my main grow room. It took 4 days to wet trim 6 plants and another 2 days to put it into paper bags for curing. Big job.
Everything is going well in here this week. The RH was up so I turned on the dehumidifier last week. The plants are looking good. No visible problems.
I've run out of puzzles from the puzzle book, so I carry on with the remainder of the comic book, Fat Freddy's Comics and Stories from the finished Dos Si Dos #33 Diary.
Keep growing straight.
Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 13 and the beginning of week14 of veg.
Well, I passed another life mark this week. At my 65 Birthday I get my Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and Old Age Pension (OAP) and a tax rebate from the GST taken at the cash till. But I had to apply. I spent a lot of time getting the paper work done and things certified. And there was a 3 hour wait for the clerk to check over the applications and OK them for the next step up the ladder. Now I'll be moving on to old age. I've had better things to look forward to in my life. Oh well, take it as it comes.
Got in here last night for few hours and did a LST and trim up. I took a lot of the big fan leaves off the top of the taller branches to give the lower branch tips somewhere to grow up too. I trimmed off the sucker branches too and made cuttings for clones from them. I cleaned up under the plants too (see pics) for good air flow.
When I was trimming up these plants last night I noticed that there was very little smell on my fingers, and they didn't seem to have any sticky or slippery feeling on my fingers either. I hope these plants will kick in with the terps later. This is unusual. I've almost always been able to find the most smelly and most sticky plant before going into flowering.
See Ya next week.
Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 1 and the beginning of week 2 of flowering.
Things are going good in here. The plants were fed last night, they sucked it right up and wanted more. I can just see the beginnings of flowers forming. They will be left alone this week. But I'll do the last trim/prune in the next week, before the resin production starts.
Got some free burning wood. On a long, cold winter we go through about 4 cords. But it hasn't been that cold this year and we have only gone through about 2 cords so far. So when I saw free wood online at the local used stuff site I jumped at it and they gave me all of it. They had cut down a large cypress in their backyard, so I had to get the wood from there into my truck and into my driveway. I did that in 2 days and I'm a little stiff and tired. I think I'll take a nap when I'm done.
This is the end of Fat Freddy's Comics and Stories, Book #2. Hope you found it funny and liked the drawings as much as I do. I hope you have a pair of those 3D glasses. You know the ones we use to get in the comic books. The ones with the one red eye and one blue eye. The next Freak Bro. book is in 3D. So, go beat up your little brother and take his. 😋 No, don't do that, ask him first, and then.
Keep growing straight. Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 2 and the beginning of week 3 of flowering.
Everything was quite this week. The plants were just watered once this week, just water no food.
I need to get in here this week and do my final trim/prune. I like to do this before the resin starts flowin'.
I take about 1/3 of the fan leaves off and have a good look for sucker branches. They suck! so I take them off too.
These plants don't have much of a smell? I tried the rub test on them and could hardly smell anything on my fingers. Strange, I hope they didn't send me the CBD version? I'll see how they are once the resin starts producing, in a week or so.
Starting a new comic book. Got a pair of those red and blue glasses for comic books. This next book in in 3-D. Enjoy.
Have Fun. Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 3 and the beginning of week 4 of flowering.
Everybody got some food this week.
Everybody got trimmed up this week. Did some LST and defoliation and Sucker Branch removal.
These are lower plants so I left some fan leaves around the outside bottom of the plants. These leaves are still getting light for photosynthesis, so they will help with the growth of big buds.
OK. Keep Growing Straight. Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 4 and the beginning of week 5 of flowering.
Things are going great in here. Gave everyone another feeding this week, to make sure they have enough food. Don't need any premature yellow leaves.
The resin production is really going now. You can see it in the pictures.
I'm hoping for another quite week next week.
Keep Growing Straight.
Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 5 and the beginning of week 6 of flowering.
It was a quite week in here. Everyone got a watering and a feeding this week. Still 5 more weeks to go.
We've got a hummer bird nest about 20 feet from our back door, where the feeder is. Up in the pine tree about 12 feet up. I've seen a female drinking out of the front feeder too but she flies across the street to the tall pine trees there. And of course the males are protecting the feeders too. They let the females drink but chase the other males away. I've seen some incredible air fights by the males. Sometimes they fly nose to tail fast, but sometimes they fly slower, nose to nose jabbing each other. Or I hear them connect midflight. WOW!!!
The smell of these plants has pick up. The resin smells wonderful, like my Dos Si Dos #33 which has a ice cream or Gelato taste. Can't wait to try them.
Thanks for looking in. Chuck.
Hello this is the end of week 6 and the beginning of week 7 of flowering.
Still 4 weeks to go, and we are getting some color on these plants. 3 plants are showing some purple.
Man, these plants smell good now. When they were young I was getting very little smell on my fingers with the rub test.
But now, these plants smell wonderful. They have cookie and cake parents. So it smells like some sort of sweet treat in here.
The seed description says, Sweet, creamy, vanilla, desert with a touch of butter and fruit cake. Sounds delicious. 😃
Have Fun. Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 7 and the beginning of week 8 of flowering.
It was a nice quite week of working on my wood pile. I spent about 5 days of splitting and stacking about 2 cords of wood for next years winter.
Things in here are quite. I don't know how, but when I was watering last night I moved a plant a 2 flying aphids flew around before going back to the plant. I saw where one landed and killed it, but now I have to check for aphids. 😒 Just got rid of my fungus gnats.
One more week of flowering and then I'll be flushing for the last 2 weeks.
OK. Stuff to do.
Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 8 and the beginning of week 9 of flowering.
This is the start of flushing for these lovely plants. I'll flower these plants to 10 weeks. I also like a few days of dark just before harvest.
There's still food left in the medium, so the plants won't starve. I've found measuring the runoff that the first flush is around 750 ppm and the second flush is around 450 ppm and the third flush is around 250 ppm. The plants use up most of the food in the pots and have pulled alot from their leaves. Then it's time to harvest the very clean buds. There is no chemical taste if you flush and you get nice white ash when smoked.
I got to say - look at the differences in the plants, wow, looks like 4 different strains. They all smell similar but look quite different. That is a common question on the questions page, why do my plants look so different from the same strain.
Keep growing straight.
Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 9 and the beginning of week 10 of flowering.
The plant are doing good in here. One more week to go and then harvest. I use a couple of days of dark too.
The plants are smelling good too. With cake and cookie parents I think it will taste great. 😃
I see some of the plants are putting out some new white pistils. This means to me, that they are happy and unpollinated looking for pollen. No hermie's or banana's in here. 😁
The comic book ended last week so I included some pictures of the t-shirts I use to wear. I put some of the pictures put on with iron on transfer paper, with a inkjet printer, and then ironed them on the t-shirt.
Feel free to use any of the pictures you find in my diaries to make your own t-shirts. I found the iron on transfer paper at Staples office supply store.
OK. I show more pictures just before the dark period next week.
Be Great. Chuck.
Hello. This is the finish of Mt. Blanc. by T.H. Seeds.
This is the last look at these beautiful plants. I'm showing the plants with the last light, then 2 days of dark, and then on to harvest.
When I harvest, I like to cut a branch off, weight it and write it down, and then wet trim it and hang the branches on a drying line.
I hang the wet trimmed branches for 3 to 4 days and then trim off the buds into paper bags for the slow drying and curing.
The paper bags wick the water away slowly and hold the gas to ripen the buds.
The gas ethaline that the drying buds put off gets trapped in the bag and neutralizes the bitterness of the uncured buds. The result is - cured and wonderful tasting buds in about 1 1/2 weeks.
Then the dried, cured buds go straight into jars. No need to burp the jars anymore. No need to dump the buds out and fluff them up anymore.
Only a few times have the jar lids popped when I've undone the lids, and this was because the buds were put away not fully dried, no mold just a bit of extra ethaline gas.
OK. See you in a couple of weeks.
Be great.
Chuck.
Hello This is the harvest comment for Mt Blanc by TH Seeds.
These plants get me very stoned. But,
I've got to complain about the differences in these plants. This is not a stable strain. But you could get a good plant if you grow enough.
And there is some hermaphroditism in them. But that could be my fault for leaving the side flap open exposed to some faint light for the last 4 weeks because of building heat.
But some of the other strain reviews on this strain have mentioned it. I didn't see any male flowers on plant #1 and it gets me very stoned I'll regrow that one.
The buds on that one are a little loose but it gets me very blasted. Because of my years of smoking I'm a little tolerant so it's nice to feel stoned.
Besides that it was a good harvest.

If you try this strain plant some extra seeds, because you don't know what you'll get.
But it will get you very stoned though. Glad I tried it.
Mt. Blanc is a great name for a great Mountain.
But here in the Pacific Northwest of North America there is another great Mountain that I can see driving around my city when the weather is good.
The Mountain is Mt Baker. Just inside the USA border, it's 127 km strait (as the crow fly's) from my home to the Mt. I've been there skiing, hiking and camping.
That is the great Mt. that I will call this strain after from now on. Mt Baker is local and majestic and it smokes from time to time. I'll call it Mt. Baker. But I'll still tell those who ask, It's really Mt. Blanc.
TH Seeds - You need to stabilize this strain and get the hermie's out.
Well, Have fun.
Chuck.
