Chupus The seed was soaked for 8 hours in a glass of water, then placed in a damp towel. After 1.5 days, the seed sprouted. I planted it directly into the soil in a large pot. I turned the lights on to 60%. Humidity is at 75%. Temperature is 24 degrees.

Chupus Everything is great right now, I overwatered the coconut earlier, yesterday I had to dig up the little plant, squeeze out the coconut, and replant it. It looks good, so I guess I didn't damage anything. I'm keeping an eye on it.

Chupus I haven't had a very good experience with coconut in the past, but now I've started a few little ones in coconut because I think I have some good nutrients. I hope everything goes differently this time.

Chupus It's developing little by little, there's a delay because of the topping, I'm practicing this method for the first time. So far, everything is going great, I trimmed the central cola a bit and waited, two colas came out and I cut them into 4. I want to achieve 16 colas.

Chupus The plant is healthy, I'm waiting for the buds to stretch and then I'll switch to light. I think a week or a week and a half will be enough for them. I'm feeding with 1 gram per liter.

Chupus I'm also adding Calmag 1 ml per liter. Today, before switching to flowering, I tied everything up and cleaned the leaves. In a week or a week and a half, I'll remove a bit more foliage.

Chupus the plant looks healthy, yesterday I watered 4 liters until drainage, the ppm came out the same as it was poured, but the pH was poured at 6.5 and came out at 4.8. I don't understand what the problem is. today I also removed some leaves and a few shoots

Chupus The plant looks healthy, no problems at all, but when I water with pH 6.5-6.7, I get 4.8 at the drainage output. I don't understand what's going on. Either it's salt buildup or too many ppm. I've now reduced the fertilizer dose.

Chupus I don't understand anything, I pour in pH 6.6-6.7 and it still comes out pH 4.8 and doesn't rise, the PPM stays the same, whatever I poured in is what comes out, how it's growing and looks is a 5+ Secret. I started giving more CalMag compared to previous waterings, I'm already on my second watering and nothing is changing. I'm afraid to flush because I had such an experience a long time ago and it made things worse for the plant.

Chupus The plant looks just awesome considering I'm pouring in 6.6 pH, and the output is 4.4. I still don't understand how it's developing. I'm pouring in CalMag normally, it seems, next time I'll increase the dosage to 2 mg per liter. And I'll lower the ppm to 600-700. This time I poured in 1100 and it came out to 1400.

Chupus Right now, I'm having humidity issues, the air conditioner is acting up. Humidity is around 70-80 percent. I put in more fans to prevent mold from starting, and even though the output is still pH 4.7, the plant looks healthy. I'll start pouring in the ripen soon.

Happy Harvest Day!

like my other plants on coconut, all suffered from salting, but nevertheless, they all looked super. this widow is just top-notch. the only thing is that due to the humidity, it rotted a bit, while the other plants at the same stage that were in the same box did not rot. I'm very pleased with the bush, it's aromatic and resinous.

Yeah, everything's fine, don't overdo it with the CalMag either. 1-1.5 is enough. But if you want to lower the dosage, 1100 is a bit much. 600-700 is normal, you can go up to 800 if you're using CalMag. But for now, yeah, let it eat a bit, keep it lower👌 As for the pH, just forget about it, don't stress too much. The plant is healthy👌

Yesss. You're using way too little CalMag. 0.5/l is nothing. Use 1.5, at least 1 (if you're worried). You won't ruin it with CalMag, don't be afraid.
OranGoodAng
OranGoodAng commented4y ago
@Chupus, Water it well, it won't hurt. And in general, don't be stingy with watering, you need to wash out the excess salts gradually. The ppm seems fine, so it's probably not dropping due to salt buildup. It looks good, so don't stress too much👌 Again, you're using coco - you really can't overwater it, just relax. You can overwater in soil or with a really bad coco (like your perlite - that's just not possible). I don't even use perlite in coco - it's just not needed there. I always water with runoff, even during the germination stage - they don't care. The thing is, I water before planting and then don't water for about a week))) Right now I have a small one - watering once a day, about 2 liters. About 0.5 liters going in. So around 25% coming out.
Chupus
Chupus commented4y ago
@OranGoodAng, I disagree about the coconut, it must be very different, mine is small like sawdust. When I planted the seedling, I buffered the coconut and left it like that, then I planted it in there. The seedlings rotted because it holds moisture like crazy. I lost 2-3 seeds, then I took the same pot, pulled out the coconut fiber, squeezed it by hand, and planted in it, and now they’ve grown.
OranGoodAng
OranGoodAng commented4y ago
@Chupus, wow! This is the first time I've heard this! Sounds really bad, probably coconut.

Chupus
Chupus commented3y ago
@OranGoodAng, hey, it's growing fat, but the pH is 4.7, I can't understand how it's growing, and all four pots on coco have outputs of 4.6-5.2 and they all look fire)) also, the AC is acting up and the humidity has been at 70 percent for a week now, I'm waiting for the freon to be delivered so I can recharge the AC myself) overall, these plants are tough!
OranGoodAng
OranGoodAng commented3y ago
@Chupus, Well yeah, at this stage 70% is a bit much. But I always have this issue - the box is small, not enough ventilation. So far, knock on wood)) Good luck!

GHE is the same thing. The nutrients are decent, but there's not enough calcium and magnesium for coco. Because of this, there are a lot of issues with pH and rising PPM.
OranGoodAng
OranGoodAng commentedweek 84y ago
Oh, what a cool topic!!! ))) Beautifully stretched 👌
OranGoodAng
OranGoodAng commentedweek 104y ago
Regarding the dropping pH - I've always had this issue with non-special fertilizers, but I was out of Calmag, so I can't say for sure. Try adding a bit more Calmag (but I don't claim to have the truth).

OranGoodAng
OranGoodAng commentedweek 24y ago
Feedings aren't great for coconut; there won't be enough calcium. It's better to use specialized coconut feeds, and then there won't be any troubles. If needed, add CalMag and everything will be fine.
Chupus
Chupus commented4y ago
@OranGoodAng, I live in Vietnam and I have a problem with nutrients. I ordered GHE from Russia and also Green House Feeding Hybrid. I’m using GHE in coco and Feeding in soil. Anyway, I realized I need to use more CalMag.
OranGoodAng
OranGoodAng commented4y ago
@Chupus, got it, bro! Good luck with what you have! I think everything will be fine. Feedings for soil - all good! GH is cool too, by the way.
