Seed was sown a couple of days ago. Had a little explore to see how it was going and saw a very healthy taproot, so she'll be up tomorrow :)
This is the last of a mix of autos I got from MSNL. Every single one has germinated :) I've been growing them all slightly differently as experiments of sorts, to see what I'm into as I learn. All I can say is these plants have put up with a lot from me so highly recommend MSNL to others!✌️
No nutrients yet, relying on the food in the potting soil for the first week or two.
Watering with pH'd water 6-6.5.
Then we'll be using Gaia green dry amendments/fertilisers as a topdressing, and see where that takes us! I am also depending on blackstrap molasses and epsom, and avoiding chemical nutrients altogether.
Im also using a lux/PPFD meter app, because I believe the airy buds from my last grow was related to light intensity, among other things (no pH testing to begin with, overfeeding). This baby is going to get a lot more love! My last (completed) grow was also in 100% coco, whereas this time we're in a coco and soil mix.
Again, every seed I got from MSNL in this mix germinated! I've only seen one to end of harvest (my own fault/doing), and she was big and beautiful (again despite me and my noobery haha). So I have super high hopes for this plant and the other diary I have going which is around week 5/6 now! So stay tuned if you're intrigued!
Thanks for checking it out and happy growing out there buddies 🇨🇦✌️
Have watered with BS molasses water when surface dry. That's all so far! We wait for the show to begin.
This grow I am measuring ppfd using an app, and altering light height or intensity accordingly. I'll also be using dry amendment ferts (Gaia Green) and avoiding chems altogether!
Cheers for oggling 🇨🇦👀
Howdy!
We had an accident in the tent this week- everything hanging on the top cross bar came down, both lights and inline fan, and crushed all plants below haha... FML. This one definitely came out strongest. She's doing well, still vegging so I expect her to be sizeable. Seeing as she was still in veg I thought I'd top this one and see how she fares. Loving the structure of this one, a little leggier than the few I've grown before, beautiful large fan leaves...
I'm going to top dress with Gaia green dry ferts next watering.
We have a gnat/fly problem, so watered with mosquito dunk-y goodness and they'll be dropping from the sky before long hehe. Little buggers. Otherwise have been watering with molasses every other water. Going well 💪
Happy growing y'all!
I thought for a bit that this plant was male- larger internodal spacing, few leaves, thick stalks and growing tall. But it has since gone into preflower - phew! So it is just a sativa-dom or leaning, and I haven't yet had a chance to play with one of those so it spooked me at first 😂 glad it made the switch now because otherwise this was gonna take over my tent!
As with the other MSNL seeds, I don't know what I'm growing unless I can ID it along the way... Let me know your thoughts if at any point it is discernible!
Gave her a mini flush yday (Dec 16) and then topdressed with Gaia green, all purpose and bloom, around 1:4, and watered with epsom neutral water. Will continue to water w/ epsom and molasses only 🤙
Some of the youngest leaves are clawing downward, but I see no other evidence of N toxicity. The fan(s) are not blowing directly at the plant, and there is no suspect (de)colouration :/ if any one knows what else that could be about, please lmk 😌 I've kinda just been waiting for some other kind of sign - but it is one of the reasons for the mini flush yday
Removed some bud sites from the lower half of plant/stems, but otherwise no defol as it is a pretty sparse sativa already!
Put a little more bloom in as a topdress (Gaia green) seems all good so far!
Watering a combo of molasses/epsom, and then plain and ph'd.
As you can see from the full tent pic, this plant is a beast in comparison to the little indica autos on the go 😅 it's a good job I have a two light setup! I've been measuring the ppfd and DLI for the plants and adjusting lights as necessary.
Otherwise nothing too wild going on! Happy growing everyone! 🇨🇦✨
Was away for new year and left plants in hands of a friend that isn't into plants at all 😂 everything in the tent needing tlc (from underwatering and huuuuge fly problem out of nowhere), but this one is all right comparatively! Top fed with Gaia green bloom dry amendments, and some worm castings. There were perhaps 5-6 fan leaves at the base of plant I had to remove but otherwise no action all week until I got back today!
Plodding on, no big changes other than some pistil coloration and smells steadily increasing as trichomes start 'sploding ;)
ID'd as Acapulco Gold. Can be no other 😎
The substrate maybe got a little hot after the last top feed so won't be adding any more probably this grow! That's my best guess for the mottling on the leaves and crispy ends - as the ends are curling up rather than straight. That's my tip for telling whether it's over- or under-fed or another issue. I'm pH testing every drop she gets (and giving between 6-6.5), so I don't believe it's lockout from a pH issue. She's getting a proper wet-dry cycle. Must be too many nutes. I flushed her yesterday and will continue with straight up water.
Hasn't affected overall growth though- the buds are starting to bulk up, trichs continue to show themselves, and the smell 👌👌 it's like honey and citrus. Veeeery excited for this one ;)
Not muchhhh to report. I think npk has been a little off, but back on track now. Have been watering with molasses and epsom, pH 6-6.5. the top feed of Gaia green amendments was probably a little hot when I gave it a few weeks ago, so haven't added anything else in there except a few ml of cal-med every other watering. Young growth looks good ;)
🦗 Fly population largely under control- got a few traps in there, and every 30 days water with mosquito dunks. I will finish the tent before putting any new friends in there, give it a thorough clean and procure a different (better!) soil to mix with my coco. My roomies plant has a bonus broccoli growing in it 😂 and that's from the soil mix. Smh.
Going to do a 6 or 8 2g pot grow next rather than these big pots. I want more variety and I have sooo many beans waiting for a turn :P
Thanks for stopping by! I'll post a lot more eye-candy in the following weeks as these buds really start packing it on ;)
She's getting there, so we flushed today, did a bit of defol (few senescing leaves), and gave last feed of some Gaia green bloom dry amendments. Hope she'll bulk out a little more, calyces still to swell so I reckon 2 weeks tops!
Initially ID'd as Acapulco Gold because of the height of it once it hit bloom compared to other MSNL autos available, but in the last week or so she displayed a lot of purple hues and glimmers just as a cookies would (I'm not complaining). Plant and buds appeared sativa-dom from the outset. Smell is peng, honey/citrus/tropical. Will report on other things (weight Inc) post-dry :)
I could have probably pushed it a few more days, but plant had senesced about as much as it was going to, and I like my bud on the uplifting side rather than couch-lock. Smell and colours were a pure delight on this bae. By the end of her cycle, she didn't need much trimming at all so harvest was a breeze. Will report back with the juicy details post-dry and cure 🤙
@Jobbie, so far it's a yes from me! She was way less stressed out by my being away, and she's now packing on the trichs. Beautiful smells- honey and citrus. And I think she'll be around 4oz dry if there are no other problems along the way :)
