30.11.22/D1 - Started to flush the plagron lightmix soil i use, as it has to much fertz in it. Gave me problems last 2 runs so will preventiv this by flushing it down to 1.0 ec. Hope this is enough, dont want to flush with the plants in it early on.
- 4 hours later i am done flushing them, had to give 9l water pH 6.5-6.3 ppm 10, to each of the 3 gallon fabric pots. Got the ppm down from 2400-2300 to 600-700, ppm. I sat them on the bathroom since i got heating cables there. The flushing also comprimised the soil, so i might add some seedling and cutting soil to fill it up ( since it is free from fertz) and clay pebbles on top as i read that would prevent pestesides to enter the soil and protect the roots from light.
- The seedlings is getting 10 DLI now under 20 hours of light.
01.12.22/D2 -All 8 germinated within 36 Hours after i dropped the seeds in Rqs easy start. 4 northern light auto (and 4 white widow auto)
02.12.22/D3 - i give them water with pure zym, about 50-100ml depends how light they are to lift. done want to overwater at this stage.
05.12.22/D6 - Had to spray with water on one of the seedlings to remove some of the seed capsule, as the leaves could not open.
06.12.22/D7 - Dialed in lights, they now get 15-16 DLI.
07.12.22/D8 - DLI 15-16. All good, just giving them water with pure zym pH 6.8 when they feel light to lift.
09.12.22/D9 - 1 of the plants fell over as the fan was blowing too hard on her. I used some soft garden wire to support her. Hopefully she will bounce back stronger🙏💪
10.12.22/D11 - DLI raised to 18.5. Gave them last watering without fertz today, will use low dose of fertz next watering.
14.12.22/D15 - Transplanted to final pots, watered them with 335 ppm solution, 6.5 pH, 1L each. Sprinkled some mycorhizza on their roots.
15.12.22/D16 - Looking much better already, will tune up the lights later today as i did not want to further stress them after transplant i give them about 14-18 DLI.
16.12.22/D17 - Tuned down lights to 11-12 DLI. Want them to stretch some before i top them.
17.12.22/D18 - Very slow growth compared to my last grow. Hope to see some growing soon🙏
19.12.22/D20 - Seem to have some issues with high pH in the runoff, hope this will settle. Growing is going good again, hope that i did not stunt them too long. I wanted to top the 5th. Node, but i feel the window for topping is closing any day now . I stunted them for some days early on. Should be done before 3rd week but lets see how it goes:)
- upped DLI from 14-16 too 22-24
20.12.22/D21 - They are now growing like they should. The problem was low temps, high humidity (bad vpd). And i could have fed them at a earlier stage. Bad conbination, but it is what it is.. hope i can get a long veg period on these. :)
21.12.22 - Took a pic from my watering schedule this week. The reason ppm is high in runoff is because the soil is fertilized. The high runoff pH i think might be from phospourus needs of the plant, but i have to see next watering if its still high or not. Below 7 is fine, but want them closer to 6 at this point.
22.12.22/D23 - Decided to try out fimming (5th node) as this is less stressfull then topping. this is my first time fimming, and i hope i got it right. Will be fun to see this development. I also removed the 2 bottom shoots as they never really branch out + it creates a better airflow and more height from the soil.
- also tuned up lights, to 29-31 DLI on their tops.
23.12.22/D24 - I missed the fim, so i it will probably grow like normal, i decided to top these instead as i got very good results with topping last grow.
- I decided to top them all as i did last grow and clocked + small leaf tuck to get some light to the lower shoots.
29.12.22/D30 - Some of them entered pre-flower. Starting LST training from today. Hope to see some good stretching this week🙏
01.01.23/D33 - Filled up with more soil in the pots as the soil that was in there had some air pockets (made the water run down without soaking the soil). And i adjusted the LST strings. They see very small and compact, makes it hard to get all the shoots in the light. (Sadly i had an accident and broke a branch on 1 of them aswell).
02.01.23/D34 - Set DLI to 36-38.
03.01.23/D35 - I think the growing is going very slow, i have not seen a good stretch yet, waterings are good pH wise, and they have enough ppm in runoff. But still i feel that something is wrong compared to my last grow at this stage..
04.01.23/D36 - I can see their leaves turning/wretching away from the light + some yellow tips, so i tuned it down to 33-35 DLI. Will tune it further if i see the symptoms get worse. Gave them a feed, and I seem to hit the Sweet spot! All in range of +-100 ppm in the runoff from what i fed them :)
05.01.23/D35 - Going good, resilient strain compared to the white widows i grow. Did some LST to them aswell today.
06.01.23/D36 - My pH pen have been off the charts for a while now it seems, this is why the grow has been so bad, i got a new one today but it has to soak for 12 hours before use. I still had to water 2 of my northern lights nr 2 and 4, so i tried calibrating my old one. It shows 0.3-0.4 more then the solution and it took 5 minutes for it to work its way to the final number each time i tried to check the pH. So frustrating. Looking forward to use my new one tomorrow.
07.01.23/D37 - Got my new pH pen up now and watered them all with feed. Did some super cropping and LST again, and manager to snap NL2’s top shoot, i taped her together and hope this will be fine🙏 Also manager to snap of a lower shoot from NL3 :/ Tried to be carefull but some branches were pretty brittle..
08.01.23/D38 - Seems like the top branch i snapped on NL2 is recovering very good! I taped again around her yesterday with a splinter to help support the weight, and i also tied up with some soft garden strings over and under the snap. I will not bend that branch too much, so i might just let her grow upwards from now, to get an even canopy.
09.01.23/D39 - Did some leaf tucking, and some small bending on some shoots, trying to even the canopy and get light to the lower shoots. I think i will do a defoliation soon. Also NL2 is showing signs of stressd either from light or from nitrogen . I fed her with only 160 elemental Nitrogen, 200 is Max, but then again she is stretching more then the others, and i dont think she would do this if she was stressed with too much light🤔 Have to check more and do some testing. Also fed her 750 ppm, and runoff was 550, so she needs more.. i have to figure this out before she gets worse.
11.01.23/D41 - Watered them yesterday with plain water, as i have been giving a solution with too much nitrogen for this stage. Will transition into a more bloom based solution from now on. Also tuned the lights to 32-37 DLI above canopy tops.
12.01.23/D42 - Defoliated today, think i got most shoots in the light. Tried to keep it at maximum 10% to bit stress them too much.
13.01.23/D43 - NL1 and NL4 i skipped the green sensation, and upped the B-52 to 2ml/l and 3.5 plagron bloom. Other then that it was the same as listed in diary.
14.01.23/D44 - Still a lot of foliage on NL3 and NL4, think I have to remove some more, trying to leaf tuck, but I am worried that the humidity will be trapped and create a good enviroment for bud rot.
15.01.23/D45 - Having some issues with high temps and low rh, causing bad vpd. Seeing heat stress, leafs curling upwards. Tuned down the heat.
- Trying to get the heat on the tents down, flowering started and removed the oscillating fans as direct air on them now is not good for trichomes, and the humidifier. Installed some pc fans to create air circulation around the plants instead, and the dehumidifier to prevent rh getting above 50% to prevent mould.
16.01.23/D46 - Need to give them water with nutes tomorrow.
19.01.23/D49 - Elevated 3 of them, all getting 35-40 DLI now.
23.01.23/D53 - Was gone for 2 days, and they were dried up, lower leafs wilted a bit. I see i can not leave for more then a day, to keep this from happening again. NL1 had too much foliage, so i defoliated her some. Tried to not take too much, think i got maybe 20%. Might need to do another round on her, will check tomorrow. Gave them water with zym, but they eat alot, so going to give them nutes tomorrow.
NL2 have yellow tips all over, need to figure out what she is reacting too. Think it may be light stress🤔
24.01.23/D54 - Defoliated NL1 and NL3 more, they had alot of foliage and i try to take of what i need for good airflow to prevent mould.
25.01.23/D55 - Some rust spots cant rub it off, so probably calcium def on NL3. Just on lower leafs. Might up the cal mag in the solution to them all as i got told this is good for trichome production.
NL2 still have yellowing tips, but she seem fine so will let her be for now.
- Yellowing tips was light stress, i completely forgot about checking DLI this last week. Was about 55 DLI on the tops. I moved the light further away, they are now getting 40 DLI.
11.02.23/D72 - Growing is good, my NL2 has i think had problems with light (laster a week or so) and she is still showing signs, but they are not getting Wors, and she do seem happy, will just keep monitoring those.
28.02.23/D89 - Was checking for dead leaves under and within the canopy ( i do regurarly ) Then i spotted a deadlike twig. Looks like fungus, will check this out, and if it is i will most likely chop them all.
02.03.23/D91 - No bud rot, only dead twig that died off, most likely because the dehumidifier was too close.
Removed a larf and a twig with a larf that seem infected by botrytis. I cut it down to healthy tissue. So question is, would cinnamon help prevent spread, or should i just chop it ? I am afraid it might spread to the other plants in the tent aswell. Tips and opinions Appreciated.
I'm not seeing any botrytis... the dead twig and larf are just that - dead. They might have had their stems pinched so they couldn't get water up to the leaves or something but this does NOT look like bud rot at all.... the first sign, for ME, of bud rot is a completely dead sugar leaf in the middle of an otherwise healthy looking bud.... this is entirely different.
I wouldn't worry about it, tbh, and no, cinnamon wouldn't do a thing for that fungus anyway.... you would have to spray the cut you made with a 2% alcohol solution, sterilize all utensils and your hands and then get on to inspecting every single bud on your grow.... You're pretty damned close to harvest now anyway so if you're really worried about it, just inspect your harvest VERY closely and wet trim it so you KNOW you've inspected thoroughly... but honestly, I don't think you have anything to worry about... (and I lost my entire summer grow to botrytis last year... it's painful!).

16.03.23/D106 - I did not take pics og NL3 as she has too few amber trichomes. NL2 is vlosing in on where i want her, NL4 is right behind NL2 and NL1 is ready for chop.
Grow was ok. I had to try and transplant, i would not recommend this with auto flowers as their veg time is so short. They wilted some a few times because i neglected them, should water more frequently.
