Just transplanted from the Aerogarden I used to germinate the seeds. Didn't keep close enough attention to how quickly they started growing and one got a little singed. Using a Spider Farmer SE3000 for the first time. Looking forward to a little lighter electric bill compared to the HID 600W I had been using.
I think they like the new light! Normally I like to keep the light as close as I can to bush out the plant. I wondering if with these guys it might be better to keep the light a little further away so the plant stretches a little more before it starts to flower. With only 2 autoflowers this light is a little over kill because I can't prolong the veg stage to fill out the tent but the bud sites should all get tons of light so maybe they will fill in the space? If so, why not make the spaces bigger?
Thoughts?
I can't believe how quickly the main cola is growing on these plants. I hope the buds fill out the spaces in between nodes. Have started adding cal/mag this week.
Buds are starting to fill out. Starting to have a little more noticeable smell when the tent is open. Getting a little sticky. Some of the leaves are starting to look just a bit frosty.
Really stretching at this point. Starting to smell a little stronger with the tent open. I keep raising the light every time I open the tent but I'm going to run out of space soon.
Definitely smelling stronger with the tent open. Going to just water from here on out to flush the buds. Starting to see some yellowing and spots on some of the fan leaves. Hopefully the buds will finish before things get to bad.
Lots of yellow leaves that are drying up and dying. Checked the trichomes and there are plenty of cloudy ones but hardly any amber ones. Towards the bottom of the plants there are still a lot of clear ones but I'm not surprised considering I didn't do any kind of training on these girls so they aren't getting as much light as they should. If this wasn't an auto I would clean the under carriage up a bit. Going to harvest next week for sure.
This is a great strain that was easy to grow. Really stretches. I didn't do any kind of LST or screen with this grow like I normally would because I went with auto flowers for this grow but I would definitely train it if I had to do it all over again. I had a bit of popcorn at the bottom but the buds up top are firm and covered in crystals. Smells more lemony than else. Can't wait for this to be cured so I can try it out.
First grow with the new Spider Farmer SE3000. Love the coverage this light has in my tent. I grow in an unheated basement so I attached the the power to the light and kept in the tent. I was worried that they might get too cool but it kept it warm. The wet weight I got for this was 2429 grams using my kitchen scale. Seems really high but I checked my math twice. Especially considering I haven't watered for the last 3 days. Maybe the kitchen scale is off, I guess we'll have to see what the dry weight ends up being. I will update the weight after a week on the rack. I'll put them in jars at that point. I'll will weigh them again after a week in the jars and call that the finally dry weight.
***560g after 11 days drying on the rack. Everything is now in jars. Will weigh again after a week and call it the final weight.
***555g after 9 days in jars.
I included a picture of the buds on my drying rack. I never really noticed how the grow light gives the plants a different color. I will be sure to use a regular light to take pictures on the next grow. I thought maybe the LED light wouldn't do that compared to my old HID light.
I don't think I will do the 2 week flush anymore. I think the plants would do better if I kept up with the nutrients until maybe the last watering just to see if keeps them from going so yellow.
