Strawberry Diesel- Beaver Seeds

TheFattyMcCoy Lights are on full 200watts, full spectrum, I prefer a balanced light spectrum throughout the grow, and will add more wattage in flower. Soil is fully cooked, adding a little more premixed super soil to the fabric pot, you can see it is a little low. Can't wait to see how each will perform in the 10 gallon Air Pot VS. The 10 Gallon Fabric Pot. Right now I can already see the first seed is stronger, so I think the comparison would be best if I took clones of the stronger plant. But because in my state I can only grow 2 plants while keeping it legal, so I will be a good boy, for now ;) Took a picture of my Aloe plant that I use to make Aloe FPJ, I take one large Aloe filet and add equal weight jaggery sugar (organic cane sugar is fine) and add one teaspoon L.A.B. (lactobacillus- locally cultured), then strain the liquid after 5 to 7 days, store in Fridge. The remaining solids and sugar can be used to make Aloe vinegar by adding water and covering with a paper towel in a glass jar, a S.C.O.B.Y. will form at the top eventually and can help to increase time by adding a tablespoon of previously made raw vinegar. This vinegar is used in KNF inputs like Maintenance Solution, Seed Soak Solution and to extract calcium from egg shells. I can go over making your own L.A.B. real quick: Take a handful of organic rice, wash with 4 to 8 ounces of R.O. water (no chlorine or chloramine) then add the rice wash to a small glass jar and cover with paper towel and rubber band. Two to three days later add 1 to 4 ounces of the rice wash to 8 ounces of fresh whole milk that is NOT Ultra-Pasteurized (so the rice was has now collected all kinds of bacteria that thrive in your specific local conditions- some good some not so good, but we drown all of them in whole milk!) So the only bacteria that survive are able to use lactose as their food, hence LACTObacillus. And there are so many strains of lactobacillus, but you have ones that thrive in your set up. The rice wash and milk is covered with a paper towel and sat in a dark area near your grow room and a separation occurs where a clear lactobacillus serum is on the bottom and a semi solid cheese forms at the top, this starts loosely and firms up as the lactobacillus serum is almost done, which depending on temperature can take up to a week, maybe less for warm locations so keep an eye on it daily. Strain cheese and add equal parts jaggery sugar. Store in the fridge. TheFattyMcCoy Hey yall! Another week down. A lot has happened. To start, we up-potted from the red solos into my living soil blend that I have been working on for almost a year. It's so full on living creatures and beneficials. I used to have fungus gnats a lot when working with living soil, it's almost impossible to avoid. .. Then enters beneficials; we have black soldier Flys, persimillis predatory mites, definitely earth worms, most likely a mix of night crawlers. No more fungus gnats, I highly recommend using beneficial nematodes, cucumeris and persimillis predatory mites are excellent (swirski predatory mites are expensive). Just look at the Soil Food Web and identify what pest you have, then purchase their predators from a trusted insectary. Anyways I added another 200watt LED and spread out the plants in a 2' X 4' tent. It's extremely dry in my location and having the heat on makes the air even drier. So getting my VPD stable has been an immense challenge. Right now Also we need to be able to add VPD or at least GD needs a built in calculator to help folks with VPD, Vapor Pressure Deficite. As of right now I am sitting at 0.85 VPD, so pretty good for today. I have 4 humidifiers and have had to hang moistened towels on the doors of the room I am growing in. It literally has been a huge challenge to keep the humidity high enough for my VPD to be in range for the young plants I have now. Good thing is my current humidity without running any humidifiers is perfect for the flowering stage, so I can't wait to move this along. As for topping and training; like I said I really want to move these ladies into flowering sooner than later. I have several reasons to do limited training so I can limit my veg time, also getting this crop done as fast as possible is best for my set up. Until I can get a larger house 🏠 😩 because we got a baby on the way 👶 so need to make space. I have made compost tea twice this past week, wetting the soil and also spraying the leaves. My sprayer broke so I ended up pouring the tea on the plants gently, I got worm castings on the leaves lol. Gently rubbing that off once they dried. Also I applied the tea at night. My tea recipe: Reverse Osmosis water, 2 to 4 gallons I bubble that with added minerals for a day Add 2-3 cups of Activated worm castings (To activate the castings I added about 3 gallons of high quality castings with what I consider to be nutrient amendments, SO I add = kelp meal, neem cake, organic coconut flour, organic corn meal, organic wheat flour, and organic cold milled flax seeds and let that sit for a week then add about 2 to 3 cups of that mix to the tea) I also add biology from about a cup of 2 different soil mixes I have around my compost bin, just trying to get a more diverse biology by adding those two different soil sources. And mind you the grow beds I took the soil from has been organic for many years and has a large amount of beneficials and tons of excellent biology. Other than that I bubble that for 12 to 24 hours, with as much air as I can get. I use air stones but you really need to clean them off once you are done brewing. I also have an Air Lift with a large air pump that really works great, K.I.S. Organics sells one that works great or you can build one easily with with PVC pipe and a few adapters from any Home Depot or Lowes. Also I do add DynoMyco to my roots when up-potting. They are an amazing brand that has backed up research, I think they have more propagules per gram of two strains they identified to work great with cannabis. Now having said that, each individual phenotype out of each individual and specific strain/cultivar is going to have different bacteria/fungal strains that it prefers and by growing the same strain, hopefully the same exact cut, and grow 3 to 4 cycles before you truly have the mycelium networks built and fully functional. What I am saying is stop throwing out "used" soil and go over 7 gallons, bigger the better for biodiversity. Stop buying "new" soil, amend your previous beds and pots. You will see a huge difference. TheFattyMcCoy Merry Christmas Yall! 🎅 🎄 ❤️ Just wanted to update, the girls have been growing quite a bit. Topped them last week and shown to be recovered. Been folair feeding them about every other night when the lights go off, using mostly diluted compost tea, see my previous posts for a recipe I use. I mix it up too and added more SST- Seed Soak Tea, using organic Alfalfa and corn for a ton of great enzymes and growth hormones, all natural Baby! And super cost effective! Despite these girls being feminized I wouldn't assume such differences in the two seeds, one is definitely taller and popped about a day before the other, the shorter phenotype has shown to be strong, short and bushy! I topped the tall girl again today, doing what I call Very Low Stress Training by tucking certain leaves so the smaller nodes can get light. Either way I am going to do more training, just keeping it light as I really want to flip these girls into flowering ASAP, so I don't want a ton of recovery time by increasing their training, even though I know I can get more yield. TheFattyMcCoy Hey yall! Happy New Year!!! 😊 🎆 🎇 🌟 🤩 Hope yall are having a great Holiday season. In an attempt to finish this harvest early, as stated previously, I am switching to 12/12 lighting for the flowering period this week! Super stoked as the girls are looking good and have a canopy that is mildly acceptable to me, if I had more time and a larger tent, and not a baby on the way I would veg more. But it's all good, because I wasn't the most confident in Beaver Seeds, although their genetics looks good, there are so soooo many great breeders out there. Anyways I topped the shorter girl early this week and topped the taller girl just about 3 days ago, she has recovered enough for me to feel comfortable to switch to flowering. Also the leaves on my tall girl's right side was getting burnt from my humidifier being too close and the moisture droplets started to fry under the bright LEDs. Temperatures are almost always fluctuating, that and trying to maintain an ideal VPD has been most struggling. Although I haven't dialed in my grow area, and changed where I was growing twice. Get it dialed! Get it dialed! I did at Fermented Irish Sea Moss, I obviously did not collect this from the ocean since I am nowhere near Ireland. But I had it on hand and it was going to waste. Use what you have locally or what would go to waste. Also made some new Fermented Aloe, very easy and I highly recommend it! Also just ordered a C02 meter, adding some DIY C02 with yeast, water and baking soda. Will let yall know how effective it is and get back to you on recipe info. TheFattyMcCoy Hey yall, Temps were high, but under control now. My girls were droopy despite having moist soil. After a good compost tea they bounced right back. Pistol hairs are showing, haven't grown this specific cultivar before so the bud structure is a but different than others I am familiar with. Let's see what she does moving forward. I am not a super fan of these genetics. Already have new seeds I am ready to start once these ladies are done. Over all the Strawberry Diesel from Beaver Seeds is not a noob grow, you need to have your grow dialed in. And really be careful with PM. I am keeping humidity as low as I cam while still maintaining a decent VPD. Challenges with this strain definitely turns me off. Looking forward to a new cultivar, already have some genetics from Michigan, those cats are really something else, they are hellbent on being better than the West coast. And they are in my humble opinion 😌 ☺️ Pure Michigan looks good, also Honey Sticks Genetics out of Maine is killing it, their Bananaconda 4 tested over 40% total cannabinoids. They want like 3k per cut, so that won't be my next, but looking forward to new genetics nonetheless. Anyways made some new ferments, remember to use equal parts organic sugar, Jaggery is best, that is the closest form of sugar to the sugar cane plant. Cover with paper towel, 2 to 3 days later let gravity give you all that juice, don't squeeze it to get more. Keep that juice in the fridge, that is your food. Then add water to the solids and keep at room temperature for 3 months to make a vinegar. That is your cleanser. TheFattyMcCoy Hey yall! Thanks for tuning in this week. Had a great look under the microscope of my soil, I just ordered a camera for my scope so next week look forward to seeing and identifying some beneficial microbiology! Another round of compost tea, I added Kiwi 🥝 😋 Fermented Juice, to this round of tea. Also adding food for the bacteria (simple sugars) and for the fungi (complex carbs). I suggest using diverse food for increased biodiversity. The mycelium network is really established at this point. Which is why I highly recommend to keep reusing your soil, and the larger the pot size the better. I am in 10 gallons for now. Once I move into our house will be into living beds, 100 gallon + If you can't be in a bed, use 25 gallon. You will benefit in time. So at this point only using inputs I have made from organically grown plants, mostly grown in house. Anything else was wildcrafted, sustainably, so if I take something from nature I am replacing it with something else. Balance in all things. Added the fruit for pushing the flowers. Pistol hairs are growing. This strain is a sativa dominant, and thus my flowers are not as compact and "looser" than indica dominant strains I have always grown. Review on this sativa dominant cultivar is: harder to grow than most strains, longer flowering time is also a pain while increasing my costs with more days with the lights on. Getting COAs on the finished flowers and I will post on here, I am hoping for higher levels of THCv, let's get into the rare cannabinoids and higher terpenes!

TheFattyMcCoy Hey yall, It's been a minute, I have been super busy out of town again. All is good though, the flowers are fattening up. Still not a fan of Beaver Seeds. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BEAVER SEEDS, just to be clear. They don't respond, like super sativa club, lol. I email and contact their website, zero response. So pick a breeder you can trust and has open communication. Otherwise they are greedy and most likely have shitty genetics. I popped two feminized seeds, one was a runt from the start, she died when my Temps hit 90 Fahrenheit, which is absolutely 💯 bullshit. I use potassium silicate, frass, aloe and everything that should help with heat stress, so this one is on the breeder. Anyways, they hardly have many trichomes, despite my shit being dialed to the max, PPFD. VPD, water only soil with dry amendments and weekly compost tea applications. That always dumps trichomes for me. Genetics are 90 percent of the game, we can control up to 10 percent as the growers. Well you can see what I mean. Week 6 of flowering now, so yeah I missed a couple weeks, but you know how it is. Life is nuts and you have to work to pay those electric bills. I already popped new seeds from a much better breeder, I literally cannot wait to chop these girls to pieces, and making RSO out of the entire run, I ain't even smoking this shit. Lol. Sorry I didn't throw up any tutorials this week, but check previous weeks for detailed recipes. I did add fermented Banana peels, overly ripe ones to help push flowering maturity. Also added fermented kiwi, overly ripe again to push end of flowering. Also added Willow water, and a ton of fermented aloe and some frass I got from a buddy. Lots of banana ferments going in, trying to get her to ripen up. TheFattyMcCoy Hey yall! New camera is paying off! Pictures made this plant look better lol. I swear it's the camera not the genetics!! Lmaoo Anyways I have been adding more fermented fruits that are overly ripened to trigger the maturity of the flowers, also to sweeten her up a bit. I mean really any sugars added are just feeding the microbes, but that is the name of the game! Feed the soil, allow the root exudates to feed the microbes and allow the plant and soil microbiology to do the work for you. Also compost tea! Add balance of simple carbs (blend of different organic sugars) and more complex carbs (blend of organic flours, kelp, fish and flax seed) to feed bacteria and fungi. Keep the soil Food Web alive and you will see the results. Overall I again, would never recommend Beaver Seeds, or this strain to anyone. She was highly sustepable to heat stress, also out of 5 seeds I saw so many variations (many different phenotypes) which is a huge RED FLAG= meaning that the breeder did not solidify the genetics and ensure that there was more consistency instead of just making seeds really quick and selling them. Don't trust breeders like this. Also if you email them, they should respond, sometimes it takes time to hear from them, although you should always hear back. In my case, Beaver Seeds ran and hide like a fuc*ing child... they are immature little kids and I would love to have a conversation with them. Mono a mono, man to man, grower to grower. Enough trashing shifty companies... back to reality and staying positive! Going to reuse this soil and already have better genetics popped and ready to go! Love yall and stay up! TheFattyMcCoy Left all of this info in the thing right above this, lol. dont want to retype everything but harvest was low due to heat stress and a low overall heat tolerance of the strain. Not bad harvest but the nose really isnt any strawberry, not much fruit either. I think they needed to make an IBL out of this proper before slapping that much strawberry all over the place. Anyways, did a dry for 4.5 days until thickest stalk snapped, then into glass jars to be burped daily. Did this for 1 week with hygrometers in each jar. Also added a few 2-way humidity packs to the jars. cured over 2 months before I turned it all into RSO. will do a tutorial on RSO later, maybe on next journal. I hope this inspires yall to get quality genetics and vet your breeders.
