Hi fellow practicioners of garden engineering :P
I am wondering, if these plants are going to be too big for my tent, are they going to be unmanagable?
The size of my tent is 2x4 (60x120).
I was comparing my plants to other indica diaries and truth be told, mine look way to bushy
High EiS3NFAUST, Yes you did great with the LST. The reason to use LST is to let all the branches grow till the same height and for that gain the same amount of light from your lamp.
You just need to make sure that there are no leaves stacked on eachother and that there are no leaves on top blocking a huge amount of light for a bug part of the or another plant.
Yes 11 liter is perfect for cannabis but then you need enough space for it.
I like to grow 5 liter pots a lot better. The plants stay smaller, you can fit more in 1 growroom (9 per square meter). And you can flip to 12/12 within 2-3 weeks so you reach harvest a lot faster.
But when you want 11 liter pots I would recommend 3 plants inside this grow room.
Enjoy your grow buddy!
Hi guys, new Guinea pig in 5L pot:
I have defoliated/pruned the stems as you can see, is it safe like this for my other bigger and bushy ones?
Wet spots on leaves, also low circulation.
Should I defoliate at all when doing LST? The big fan leaves still block a lot of light
High EiS3NFAUST,
Yes you should do some defoliation. Just make sure that leaves are not stacked on eachother. Like you mentioned you need a good airflow between the leaves. You also want to defoliate the larger leaves blocking the light for a big part of the plant.
Look at your plant. Look at the leaves that are stacked on eachother and look at the leaves that block too much light. Then make a plan which ones you need to cut away for the reasons mentioned above. Do not overdo it! You can always decide to cut away more but you can not glue them back after cutting XD
Enjoy your grow!
Hello guys, as you can see, my roots are beginning to spread on the grow tent floor.. I was going to use a scrog net, but I think when it is installed and the plants have grown in, the pots are going to be immovable.
what do I do with these roots? is it safe to cut them off?
I would leave them and set up a empty drip tray with a riser/screen above it so the drips are getting collected into something and the pot is not making a direct contact with the floor.
something like this goes into the drip tray and allows air movement below the pot so it does not get to humid and form more roots so they prune via air.

I'd also empty the saucers after watering and again later that day to prevent a high RH at the root zone, I'd also try and get a larger saucer then the pot so its not making a sealed off area with the pots diameter. eg if pot is 8" don't get a 8" drip tray get a 10-12" tray with that riser/screen. have some buffer room around the pot so air can get in.
Good Luck!
Hi guys, I was thinking to flip to 12/12 very soon, but am worrying about the plant health. I did spray the leaves on top with a 1ml/L solution of CalMag the last 2 days, and watered them with calmag water 4 days ago, is this still a calmag deficiency?
High just water with grow nutrients and right pH till you've reached 20-30% runoff from the amount that you gave. Collect the runoff and check the pH and EC value. When one of those values is waaay higher + 0.5 you need to give till runoff again with 20-30% runoff till both values are within the 0.2 range from the given nutrient solution. After you have done this just let the soil dry out at least the top layer (2-3 cm) before you water again. Do the same thing when you notice the first white pistils and you want to change from grow to bloom nutrients. Enjoy your grow!
Sorry to hear about the bud rot! Happens to all of us once or twice, trying to balance pushing them as far as possible vs the risk of issues.
They were some beauty plants and big ol' buds!
@hugonot, haha thank you my friend, I have learned a lot from it and my other grow went very well, I am on my 3rd one right now! looking mighty fine this time again πͺπ
@ironf1st, that's what we're all here for, to Stoke each other and share our glories and failures for others and ourselves to learn from. Hope your dry and cure goes well! Will keep an eye open for the final harvest posts
@Grow_for_Happiness, thank you for your kind words my brother, it means a lot to me if guys who grow sexy buds come over to give me some appreciation!
Gonna go a bit more "professional" with the next grow, using ScroG, not having PH issues and filling out the tent much more. π
I wasn't sure if I am doing well until you experienced guys gave me some thumbs up, it's boosting my confidence in my horticulture skills.
I hope I can learn much more from all of you. Just looking at my plants and others to compare is already nice!
I also watch a lot of professors on YT, giving scientific advices.
I don't do this for compensation, but to grow gourmet weed for myself like a MFer.
and let me tell you, damn have I come to the "gourmet cooking school" it's Alain Ducasse in this bitch, hehe.
