My trees have seemed a little stressed of late. Probably because fed them acid for water, so thought I should treat them to clean water (straight from tap). Fed them each a litre but assumed the tap water would be around 7, but it seems mine is 8.2. So much for the chilled treat! I'm now back to using nutes, but at lower dose of around 1.5 EC, and correctly measured PH of 6.8.
Companion plants are doing well. Basil leaves are ready for picking, which is good because I like Italian. My carnivorous flesh eating triffids don't look too well. Have removed the fly tape, hoping that they are now feasting, but not so sure..? That said haven't seen any creepy crawlies in the tent...
Have cranked up the fan onto speed 2. Want to ensure a good airflow around my trees and prevent bud rot, but most importantly get denser buds :). Problem is I switch it off when I sleep. Am wondering if those missing 8hrs of air circulation will be a problem? I've also cranked up the air extraction to lower the humidity. Trying to get it down to 45, but requires major sucking and loads of noise.... Might invest in ear plugs.
The Big Yield is at the back and is a 2 or 3 weeks older than Gorilla Cookies, but my Gorillas have been a bit slow from the start. Am wondering if the seaweed extract I put in the Big Yield potting mix has mad the difference, or is it genetics? The pistils on the BY seem bigger and thicker than previous grow, but GC pistils look a bit disappointing. They may fatten up over time, will wait and see.
Have observed that my night time temperature drops a good 3 or 4 degrees even with the heater. I was hoping the heater would keep the temperature around 22, daytime being 23/24C, but it isn't up to the job. Will probably invest in another...
@tomatoGrower, they shouldn't be getting killed by the lights what are you using is it a led light and in the natural environment they live in warm boggy conditions they require to be moist at all times since the aquariums people use to grow them with t5 bulbs I would imagine it to be hotter than your grow room I would say if you water your cannabis plants say every other day you would probably have to water the carnivorous plants everyday the best way I find to do it is put trays with water underneath and they will take what they need oh and keep the fan on during the night unless it's your lights go off with it
@tomatoGrower, It will be fine they are naturally grown under a t5 the problem is they love to be fairly wet as usually they are boggy plants it will eventually start feeding it will produce a nice colour inside of the cup and pests are then intrigued it's hard to tell with that carnivorous plant as it is a closed cup plant best way to tell if it's feeding usually another will sprout once it has eaten so if you get new growth it's already feeding I have loads of varieties of them I love them very educational also usually give me a great amount of seeds each year.
@Ilovemyplants, cheers, wondered what they were called. Still waiting for them to start chomping on something....😳💤. Think my lights might be too overbearing for them 😟
Hey there growmie,
Thanks so much for sharing this diary with us! We hope that you had a good experience with growing our Gorilla Cookies Auto.
It was a joy to look through your photos, enjoy the harvest
