Vermiculite adds some silica on its own.. use that instead of perlite or similar drainage-related amendment. (soilless is 'hydro' but in a pure water method you'd need any liquid option available.. read and compare labels, if it says the same ingredients and provides same % of mass of silica, it's the same damn thing and you should buy the offbrand or generic anytime possible with such things.. if it doesn't have a guarnateed analysis label, it's no good for "hydro" .. if it isn't 100% soluble, it's a problem for "hydro" - last one shouldn't be an issue)
a rose is a rose is a... if they use the same molecules, it's the same thing no matter what the fancy label is or how much it costs.
i wouldn't overpay for this sort of supplement.. but if you got money to burn, go for it. The ROI is almost certainly low, though.
