Day 19 and this girl is really coming along nice. Has a little over doubled in size. Haven't run across any issues yet. Somehow my pics from last week got deleted!

I am really loving this Gelato still looking healthy as ever! Still no added nutes, which she don't look hungry and still eating off of the soil which is (coast of Maine growers mix) which I think has been fantastic so far! Please feel free to let a rookie grower know if you see something I'm missing or suggestions! Thanks and happy growing!

Growing fastbuds Gelato, was wondering when i should start using cal mag? I'm using coast of Maine growers mix for soil and on day 23. Haven't added any nutes or cal mag as she has been eating from what's in the soil. Using fox farm nutes when I do start! Thanks in advance!

Normally, your soil and your nutes should provide the calcium the plant needs... the only time you would need to add calmag is if you start to see a calcium deficiency (small yellow/brown spots) which is NOT caused by either a nitrogen toxicity or a pH level that's not good (pH should be between 6.0 and 6.5 in soil). If a deficiency is caused by either of those two conditions, you can throw an entire bottle of calmag at the plant and it won't be able to get at it. Having calmag on hand is always a good thing but avoiding a calcium deficiency in the first place is best. So keep your pH in that range and, when you start the nutes, go really slowly. I've used FF in the past and have always had trouble with their Grow Big - always end up with a nitrogen toxicity... so start that particular nute out at 1/4 strength... and, given that you're probably not going to be starting nutes until next week (?), I would keep Grow Big at 1/4 strength for the entire grow. If, as I suspect, you're going to intro nutes next week, you can also add about 1/2 strength Big Bloom as she should be entering pre-flower by that time and it's a good idea to get her ready for flower - besides, it doesn't hurt anything. But save the Calmag in case you need it... Good luck!

Well day 28 and she is looking as good as ever. Still haven't need to introduce any nutes yet thanks to coast of Maine growers mix which I really love. Might start giving nutes this week if she starts to look hungry! UPDATE: Day 32 and she is starting to look hungry! Gonna give first feeding!

So I'm growing in coast of Maine growers mix. I am on day 31 with no added nutes. Been thriving on what is pre mixed in soil already. But my question is this morning I notice the very tips of the leaves turning a yellow/brown color. Can someone please inform me what this could be

It’s time to feed. She is low on Nitrogen (lanky stature). Brown tips - K deficiency, discoloured interveins - Mg deficiency (often in mix with Ca). If you see brown spots on leaves soon, that’s Ca deficiency which means you are already 3 weeks late, because Ca deficiency is not visible for first three weeks. So just feed her :)

Well she is still getting taller that's for sure. Not gonna say I'm having the easiest time being a newbie but over all good. Notice the leafs with brown tips last week. Was told she was hungry and gave here a light feeding but tips still still appearing after a week so will probably feed again in a day or two! Update: day 40 and giving feeding!

Day 40 was wondering what could be causing lower leaves to be dying off? All details of growing in diary!

She looks terribly dry ... are you making sure the soil is completely moistened when you water? You should have a little bit of a runoff when you water... let the pot sit in that runoff for 5 or 10 minutes - if it is absorbed back up into the pot, water some more.. keep doing that until the pot no longer takes up the runoff and then pitch the runoff as you don't want your plant to have wet feet all the time. Good luck...

Top leaves skinny and bending down could this be from heat stress? Started marshydro at 25% slowly moving it up to where I'm at now which is 50%

Could be... could also be from needing more water... I would raise your lights another couple of inches though, just to be on the safe side - don't want to be burning those flowers! Good luck....

No, this isn't normal but I think it relates to the amount of water you're giving her - which probably isn't enough... And I hope, after giving her a "light" feeding, you've increased the nutes she's getting? She's needing some bloom nutes now along with about 1/2 strength grow nutes... Good luck!
