So the first real week has passed and the first tiny set of true leaves are just beginning to show. This strain caught my eye primarily for the high cannabinoid levels and because I really really love the dosidos, one of its parent strains but also because I'm a massive fan of purple plants. The environment isn't perfect I'll be honest, it's in a tent with a couple of purple punch that are just finishing up flower so my VPD is about 1.5 (not great for seedlings😅). I've given one feed basically, a very weak nutrient solution with a touch of root enhancer. The plan will be to finish her in a 7 litre pot so I'm probably gonna keep her in this baby pot for 3 weeks or so, transplanting 3 weeks (give or take) before switching to 12/12. This will allow me to top and scrog her next to a couple of other plants I'm running. The goal is anything around 100 grams so let's see how she goes.
So.. After week two of veg this Velvet Moon Fem from Green House Seeds Co. is more or less where I want her to be. It's true that my environment hasn't been absolutely perfect but it's close enough and this little beauty is starting to thrive. She was given a slightly stronger nutrient feed yesterday and when I opened the tent this morning I was pleased to see that it looks like it is exactly what she needed. I'm going away this week and leaving her in the hands of my girlfriend (who is reluctant to take responsibility of my grow but there is no-one else so a little crash course on growing is in store for her 😂). The good news is that at this stage it's not really complicated so I'd say it's perfect timing. I'm excited to get back and see the transformation from this week to next..
Hey, I've got this velvet moon at 14 days now and although I'm quite happy with how it's looking, the main stem still seems kinda skinny. I've been htting it with a breeze to try to strengthen her up.. is there anything else I can do?? Thanks in advance..
You've got the right instincts here - having a fan gently blowing on her will definitely help... You could always up-pot her to a larger size and pull some of the new soil up a bit on her to give the stem more support (and thereby more opportunity for more roots to form). Other than that, a little patience is all she really needs, I think.
And btw, when you give your "crash course" to your gf, make sure she knows what overwatering is (the state of being constantly wet) and guards against that... you don't want this little one to damp off while you're gone!

Hi mate the ranking system works of the amount of likes you get, the more likes the further along the status line you go. Contest like DOTM or newbie of the month are recurring contests and you can only enter with a complete diary. POTM I think you can enter pictures from your diary while your diaries are running. The status thing don't mean squat on here, it's just how popular you are or how long you've been on the site or if you spam the site. GOTM is also a contest where people get points for answering questions, that contest is poison as it attracts trolls and you end up being harassed by them just for helping others out.
