Day 2/23/23 - Watered with fresh 12 hour air bubbled water and added a 1/2 tsp recharge to one gallon used 1/3 gallon per plant. Took photos. Morning 2/24/23 - I am calling today Day 1 of Flower since calyxes and pistils are popping everywhere and the tops on all 3 have the beginnings of that initial clustered look at the apical meristems. Watered with fresh 12 hour air bubbled water and added a small amount of endomycorrhizae, biochar, kelp, worm castings, and humic acid. I may reduce my light intensity to promote a bit more stretching. I'm happy with the Lemon and Orange but the Cherry is just too stout and short. Evening 2/24/23 - Yes, Day 1 of Flower complete and officially clustered top that is completely more noticeable tonight. The Mimosa x Orange Punch has the fully most clustered tops and is in full stretch mode. She is going really well. The LLOG is also noticeably stretching now. The CherryLand is just starting to stretch a tiny bit. I'm going to let her soil dry out just a bit more. Day 2/26/23 - Watered with BAS Bloom Transition. Added 3ml Fish Shit. Sprinkled Craft Blend. Use 1 gal air bubbled fresh water first, let sit ~ 30 min. Then watered using the air bubbled water with Build A Soil schedule. I noticed a huge lead within hours. I really let the soil get to its driest point so far before watering. The flower clustered tops are really forming and the stretch is full on. The Mimosa is a beast and is getting too big comparatively. Morning 2/28/23 - Water with pure air bubbled water. Gave each 1/3 gallon. The mimosa is a beast and I keep taming the tops down so she is getting wide and taking up more room than she deserves. I am steadily removing lower leaves, small under growth branches and LSTing down any tops that reach too high. I am trying to form an even canopy and keeping the growth hormones to each top as equal as possible. Once the stretch stops the trellis goes in. Morning 3/1/23 - Watered with 1/2 tsp of Recharge per gallon. Used 1/3 gallon per plant. I have been allowing the soil to get too dry. I need to water every 12 hours. I added microbes because the dry soil is making them go dormant. I'm still learning, adapting and growing with them. The LLOG started as an ugly mutant. Throughout the entire veg it seemed the slowest. Now during flower somehow it is building some thicc tops. She is swinging those hips. I can't wait until she starts dripping terps. Evening 3/1/23 - Watered with pure air bubbled water, 1/3 gallon per plant. Removed some lower fans and lower branching growth. Added some plant adjusters to the Lemon. Morning 3-2-23 - Watered with BAS Bloom Transition schedule, added 3ml Fish Shit and 3ml Sprouted Quinoa Ferment, 1/3 gallon per plant. Took Photos

After I transplanted these into 5 gallon fabric pots and have used Build A Soil Living Organic Soil Oly Mountain Compost all three plants lower leaf sets have curled downward. My night temps are getting down to 62 degrees. Why are my lower leaves curling down?

Hi, it seems that your seedling is living in a slightly too dry environment, look for VPD online and find out about the subject to understand the best combinations of temperature and humidity for each growth phase (At your temperature, after 5 weeks I recommend a 50 % humidity). However it seems that your seedlings are not absorbing enough oxygen from the roots for some reason (Too much water, root rot, soil saturated with fertilizers), check the EC and pH of the water flowing out of your pot. Good luck!

You don't say WHEN you transplanted them but I feel this is simply the plants needing time to recover from the transplant... It's also possible the soil is a little too hot for them unless they were in that same soil before... and finally, that temp is not good - needs to be at least 68F if you can manage it... purple strains like colder temps and will react favorably by increasing their colors but at this stage, you run the risk of stunting the little ladies... Good luck!

Living Organic Soil users unite! Forgive my ignorance this is my first time growing LOS. I am currently using Build A Soil Living Organic Soil - Oly Mountain Compost. When is the proper time to water? In my previous soil grows I would take things rather dry before watering.

Living soil is no different in regards to water as any other soil.... you water when they're dry and you make sure your plant has a definite wet/dry cycle. Good luck...

How long does the stretch last with Indica dominant hybrids? I understand this is dependent on genetics. I am just looking for a ball park figure. It's been so long since my last real grow I have lost the feel. If I remember correctly it is usually about 2 weeks.

The flowering stretch in most cannabis plants lasts about 2 weeks. Sativas will rise more than indicas in that time, but it lasts about the same amount of time for both subspecies. The only plant I've ever seen go longer than 2 weeks is Dr Grinspoon - that's a proper heirloom sativa and it didn't stop stretching for nearly 4 weeks! As you say, it's completely dependent on genetics, but I would estimate 50-100% stretch with indicas, and 75-150% stretch in sativas. Hope that helps!

Why is my Mimosa x Orange Punch yellowing? It looks like older growth is being affected gradually more. The overall growth seems to have slowed or stopped. I've been feeding plenty and just the same as the others who are loving it.

Different strains require different feeding! Your mimosa is starving and needs more nutrients than the other two plants. Your cover crop/companion plants could also be stripping nutrients from the soil mix. Mulch is great, but when growing in pots, cover crops are a no-no in my experience.

Right so it could just be the pheno being picky about her nutrient strength. On the other hand it is a lighter colored strain to begin with but you can start with increasing her feed a bit to see if she starts looking more to your liking. Other than that you don't have your ph listed so that's a bit concerning but just make sure it's between 5.5-6.5 ( you can go a little higher in soil 6.6-6.7 ish). Hope this helps.

When do you start counting days of Flower? At the flip to 12/12 or at the first definite signs of calyxes and pistils?

People will argue, because people. I'll guarantee better results if you start counting when you start seeing pistils. Usually around 2 weeks after switch. Anyone else is lying. You can check through any grow on here and prove this.

For photoperiods, the breeders refer to flowering time as time from the day you flip til the day you chop. Most of these popular polyhybrid cultivars now days from seed are around 8-9 week flowerers. That means 56-63 (approximately) days from the day you change your lighting schedule to 12/12. Usually for me this breaks down to 14ish days of transition, 14ish days of stigmas filling in at bud sites, 14-21 days of bracts/β€œcalyxes” stacking and bulking up, then finally 7-14 days of ripening and finishing. It really doesn’t matter how you count it tho, as long as you’re consistent and keep track of things. Having said that, a large majority of growers count from the day of flipping lights.

I start counting at the flip and start giving flowering nutes immediately. In the end, harvest is based off the trichome development so really day count is just a guideline on when you should start putting your eyes on your trichomes.

Nice grow, your ladies look awesome. We love B.A.S. products also. To us seems easier than synthetic nutes. And we think tastes better too. Love the color of the cherry land. Where did you get those seeds?
CalyxHunter
CalyxHunter
@doobieandthedutchess, Thanks! I can't wait to taste these. The CherryLand genetics are the best I've ever grown. I got them directly from the breeder, Justin Esquivel, with greenlusterphenos.com, who is a genius. I will be trying their Wintry Fruit at some point too. They also offer Type II and Type III cannabis that are CBD and cannabinoid heavy. I bet his genetics will soon become popular with main stream dispensaries.
