Hi, I'm Cino from Western Europe. I'm a long time smoker but still a newbie grower (this strain will be my sixth grow and my first diary) and I'm not a native English-speaker. I've chosen Afghan Kush from Fast Buds in memory of the Afghan Hashish I loved so much when I was 20.
I gave the seed a little rub with 180 sand paper and soaked it in X'seed from B.A.C. for an hour, then put it in a 36mm Jiffy-7 peat pellet.
Finally, I put the peat pellet in a tiny germination greenhouse, keeping it about 25°C with a heat mat under a Spider Farmer SF1000 with power at 20%. HR is maintained nearly 90 %.
It popped out about 3 days later and I let it 2 days more until I saw the root coming out from the pellet, then transplanted it in a 5 gallons fabric pot, under a plastic dome.
As I've done with all my other grows, I used philosopher seeds' guide to prepare a good organic substrat, customizing it to autoflower : 70 % Light mix (Biobizz), 20 % Worm Humus (Biobizz), 5 % Coco (Biobizz), 5 % Perlite (Plagron) and added 18 g Nutrihemp (Trabe), 139 g Bat Guano Bloom (Guano Diffusion), 1 g Micromix Soil (Aptus) and 5,5 g Monster X (Platinium), all this on a 3 cm clay pebbles layer.
I watered with filtered rain water (pH=7,0 ; TDS=20 ppm), only adding 0,5 ml/L Calmag (Biobizz) and 1 ml/L Mono Trace-mix (Canna).
Plant is now under FC-E3000 : I use a UNI-T UT383 BT sensor and PPFD Meter on my smartphone to monitor PPFD and set the right DLI. For this week, I choose 24h with PPFD=139 µmol, so DLI=12 mol/m²/d, just enough for this seedling. HR is 80 %.
Wanted to test B.A.C. products for a while, so I bought a few bottles and started feeding with organic grow and root stimulator.
This week, 18h with PPFD=309 µmol, so DLI=20 mol/m²/d.
Every night, I spray : once with B.A.C. Foliar Spray (2.0 mL/L) and the next days with B.A.C. Pro Active (5.0 mL/L).
Good response to LST!
This week, 18h with PPFD=463 µmol, so DLI=30 mol/m²/d.
I spray B.A.C. Pro Active (5 mL/L) every night.
Introducing B.A.C. Organic Bloom and Bloom Stimulator, as preflowering should begin next week...
This week, 18h with PPFD=617 µmol, so DLI=40 mol/m²/d.
Moving the driver out of the growtent to keep temperature near 24°C by day.
Still half growing/half flowering nutrients, till next week.

Needed a bit of defoliation... and LST.
Last sprays : one night with B.A.C. Foliar Spray (2.0 mL/L) and every other with B.A.C. Pro Active (5.0 mL/L).
This week, 18h with PPFD=694 µmol, so DLI=45 mol/m²/d and I'll keep it thas way till flush.
Last week with a bit of B.A.C. Root Stimulator, introducing B.A.C. Pro active in the solution as I can't spray it anymore while flowering and B.A.C. PK Booster.
Nice bush with 7 nice colas (broke one in early LST...) and the main one : I'm happy! 😀
Now full flowering nutrients.
LST is over but I still defoliate every single day!
There are flowers everywhere...😍
Let's hope they'll get bigger and bigger.

Nothing more to say for this week...
Installed a net to set up colas, avoiding direct contact.
Had to change my oscilating fan which did'nt oscilate anymore... changed the fixed one too.
Now it smells, begining to stink : carbon filter and full ventilation on.
Barely maintain HR near 50% by day, 60% by night but it's OK with 24°C/20°C.
Noticed brown spots, nothing alarming but I'll keep it under surveillance and gave a drop of B.A.C. Organic Grow.
Almost forgot : trichromes are here, everywhere.😜
EDIT : after last watering, I measured the pH of the run off at 5,5... with a brand new and properly calibrated pHmeter. I guess the brown spots are caused by this abnormaly low pH for soil creating a few deficiencies. I thought pH was not a problem with an organic grow but for now I'll stick to pH = 6.5 for the nutrient solution using Biobizz Bio-Up for weeks 9 and 10, then I'll water with pH=7 plain rain water for last couple of weeks.
As A.K. drank a bit less, I'm now watering 4L every 4 days and starting to reduce PK Booster from 1.5 to 1 mL/L.
Since I keep pH = 6.5 it's much better with "brown spots situation" and buds look fatter.
I removed the net as it was getting too much in my way : instead, I defoliated one last time and rearranged the ties so it should be OK till the end.
Took a few 1:1 macro shots of its shiny dark green leaves with decent lighting and cam : enjoy!
More and more trichromes, half clear/half cloudy for the moment.
No change this week : it's still drinking about 1L a day and buds are getting fatter...
As I don't see amber trichromes, I'll go on feeding for now.
RH is stuck near 50%.
I've seen amber trichromes for the first time, so the flush begins!
As I got a free ATA NRJ Flavor from ATAMI, I'll try it for the last weeks (1 ml/L) with trace mix and calmag and stopped all B.A.C. products.
Now, it stinks like an animal and there is purple on the tip of the buds! 😍
EDIT 02/15 : I moved Afghan Kush to its own 60*60*120 cm flowering tent as I need the big one for my photoperiodic and its clones in vegetative state... Set a SF-1000 to 100% at 45 cm to maintain 45 DLI with 18h lighting and using a small dehumidifier to have RH as low as possible : 25°C/RH 50% by day, 21°C/RH60% by night.
Only a few amber trichromes after a couple of days, maybe two weeks more, at least...
Buds don't look much fatter this week and I can see more amber trichromes : almost enough for my "sweet dreams" weed. 😴
I'll see this weekend but we are almost there : I'm thinking about giving the 48h long night so I can harvest on saturday or sunday.
I can't wait!
This week will be the last one... There are enough amber trichromes for me : I stopped watering to help drying and let the plant 24h in the dark before harvest. 😀
Harvested 02/26 : wet-trimmed OAK (about 500g) will dry for the moment... Back in the tent, with dehumidifier and light off, ventilation on.
I am disappointed because there are more sugar leaves than flowers : took me 5 hours to trim, it was a pain in the *ss. Ultimately, OAK suffered more than I thought from the "brown spot situation"... The good thing is I have about 400g in my trim bin to make extract : to the freezer for now.
Checked 03/03 : huge weigh loss, now 137g. All top buds that turned purple are still dense, others aren't... I should have removed more lower bud sites : will know for the next time. Buds need to dry a few days more. I vaporized 200mg : it was quite potent and wasn't tasting so bad. Can't wait to test a 1g joint after 3 months curing!
Checked 03/05 : weigh is stabilized to 127g. Now, the curing can start... 6*1/2L glass jars and a size L C-vault without Boveda pack for the moment. I got the trim out of the freezer to the dryer.
03/08 : I shaked dried trim and got about 3g of kief, now in the pollen press and back to the freezer.
