Royal Gorilla (Royal Queen Seeds)
Genetic Background: Sour Dubb x Chem Sis x Chocolate Diesel
Type: Sativa 50% Indica 50%
Flowering time: 8 - 9 weeks
Germination rate : 100% (3 seeds).
I had some problems during the first week of vegetation.
2 of the gorillas had problems getting out the 2nd floor of leaves.
These very small leaves grow very slowly.
These two plants are derived from very (too much ?) small seeds. Maybe this is related?
The other Gorilla develops properly and does not pose any particular problem.
In order not to waste too much time, I gave 2 seeds to sprout.
For the moment only one is out, I immediately put it under the light.
Wait and see 🙏
Third week of vegetation.
The 3 Gorilla are in good health.
Hulk#1 still have a slower development but leaves are better nodes after nodes.
Change pots from 1l to 18l Rootpouch pot on day 17.
Still no nuts 'cause Plagron GrowMix is already fertilized.
-Day 20 Topping-
The girls having recovered well from their change of pots, I decided to top them in order to stop the vertical development
in favor of the development of the lateral branches.
Topping is at nodes 4.
4th week of veg
The ladies revover well from their topping.
Result is already there, the lateral shoots are boosted and grow nicely.
Start a litlle bit of LST to get the stems under the light.
Everything seems good for the moment.
30th day of veg.
Development is less vigourous than HulkBerry but is honorable 👍
Topping was less effective than with Hulberry.
Gorilla#1 have still is own "look" but grow faster than previous week.
Start the nuts this weeek.
-Day 31-
Finally I had time to install my scrog net.
Trying to put the leaves under the net and buds to the light.
Had to supercrop (stem is not broken but heavily pinch) the tallest plant to stop a bit vertical grow.
First week of flowering after 32 days of vegetation.
Will use a net but I would not make a real scrog. I will miss time.
I will use the net only to separate the plants.
These next 3 weeks I will try to have a stretch as homogeneous as possible to keep a canopy under control.
Let's see who hulk or Gorilla climb the sky faster.
2nd week of flowering
I think I have two different phenotypes The Gorilla # 1 has a strectch and a slower development than the other two.
The Gorilla # 2 and # 3 have a fairly similar development with an already important strectch and an internodal space that continues to grow.
A strain very pleasant to see grow.
I continue to have a light hand on nutrients.
3rd week of flowering.
Gorilla # 2 and # 3 are now well above other plants.
The first pistils and trichomes have appeared.
The leaves have a pretty dark green color that contrasts well with the thick, white, sparkling pistils that began to colonize the top of the buds.
As for the Hulk I practiced an important defoliation and removed some branches insufficiently developed.
4th week of flowering.
Unlike the Hulk the stretch although less imortant continues.
The heads of the flowers begin to take a pretty thick.
I removed a large part of the leaves so that light could reach all the buds.
It's always something that I do reluctantly.
I try to leave them a maximum of space so that no plant touches, which is a little complicated in a small space especially that the Hulk begin to take up a lot of space.
A great Strain 😊 One of my favourite of the year 2018. Can't wait to start an other run with this Royal Gorilla 😍
Many thanks to @james from Royal Queen Seeds for that super strain 👌
@OutForReal,Thanks 😀
Think I have 2 different pheno. Gorilla#3 is more "sativa" grow (long inter node space and big stretch) the other one, the Gorilla#1 is more "indica" big leaves, short nodes and much more bushy than #G3.
Gorilla#2 is balanced.
Will see 😉
Looking stellar my friend. I have 2 of these Royal 👑 Gorilla’s 🦍, along with a Gorilla 🦍 Bomb 💣 in my current garden. Very excited for the next few weeks after perusing your diary 📔 here.
“Keep It Safe, Keep It Green, & Smoke 💨 It Up!!!”
@stephandjo, I am on the quest for the ultimate Gorilla 🦍 🤔🤣. As a medical patient that medicates using Rosin, I need the serious trichome producers which most versions of Gorilla 🦍 Glue seem to be...
@MagicMikesMeds, Thanks for your comment 👍 I really like this Royal Gorilla 👌
Will follow your diary to see the difference between the Gorilla Bomb and Royal Gorilla 🙏
@James,Thanks James👍
I totally love this Royal Gorilla. Easy to grow, beautifull, very potent, great taste and great yeld 👌RQS really got a hit with that strain.
Can't wait too try again this strain under a scrog 😍
@BeefWellingtons, Plants are in nice health, some branches are a little thin and will not produce the expected result. I think I must resolve to cut one or two.
This is not too serious because I already have a high density of buds.
Had to defoliate a bit to let the light hit the lower buds.
For the yeld it promises but I still wait to see ; )
