Here we go! My first autoflower grow 😬 let's see what happens when someone who has no idea what they're doing gives this a go 😅
Germination was a breeze and quite standard. I used the paper towel method since it has always worked for me, and 3/3 seeds popped beautifully 🌱
Paper towel method 11/15
Planted in soil 11/18
All 3 seedlings 11/20
Week running 11/27-12/3. Since I used the Ocean Forest potting soil (75% new 25% amended) I didn't want to do any major feeding, but also wanted to make sure they had enough nutrients. As seedlings they only received PHed water, this week I added a small amount of nutrients. My watering volume isn't easily measured at this point since they aren't getting much, just enough to form a damp ring at the base of the plant.
Week running 12/4-12/10
Poor Plant 1 suffered an unprovoked cat attack 😼 apparently he's absolutely frantic at the smell of cannabis plants, lesson learned 😅.
Plant 2 seems happy/uneventful aside from normal growth.
Plant 3 had an early leaf mutation where a single leaf came in instead of its first true leaf 🤷♀️ by the end of the week, the next set of leaves are "normal'.
Week running 12/11-12/17
Everyone seems happy so far, including Plant 1 after being half eaten 🤦♀️.
This week starts LST, so height measurements are going to be pointless for a while. It definitely makes me a little sad folding my little plants in half 😬 I know I see everyone else doing it, but having never grown it's a super uneasy feeling. Hopefully I don't kill em 😅
Week running 12/18-12/24 Technically it was about 1.5 gallons of water for ease of mixing, I'm not doing the math on that to figure out amount/gallon 😂
I was very pleasantly surprised how quickly these lil suckers bounce back. I feel like they look trampled with the LST but they seem to be doing fine. Going to continue and see what happens 😁
Week 12/25-12/31
On 12/27 I followed the recommended feeding guide and did a Sledgehammer Flush.... 🙄 Within 2 days I noticed what a mistake that was. They did not look happy... next feeding on 12/31 I tried to replace what was stripped away (I know i adjusted PPM by adding more water). I'm going to go ahead and call what happened with the flush mistake #1 given my plants looked sad.
Week 1/1-1/7
So originally the plants were numbered 1-3 according to size and vigor. Surprisingly that went out the door. I think my little mutant leaf #3 is passing 1 & 2 😱 2 seems like it will stay on the smaller side. Despite the same treatment and training, #2 just never produced the additional branches 1 & 3 did 🤷♀️
I'm still on the fence about the flush last week... a lot of leaves are showing deficiencies up close which I know could have started preflush but I'll never know for sure 🤨 I was unaware of just how much Molasses will bring the PPM up, lesson learned, had to water down my batch 😅
They seem to be semi forgiving of my mistake so far.
Week 1/8-1/14
Well, it was bound to happen..... mistake #2 happened this week. I assume I know what I did, not completely sure though. Each feeding I use the same recipe and measure with syringes so it's usually pretty damn close, and I use the weekly average rounded off as my PPM listed above. During one of my feedings I was distracted, multiple times over... not only did I not check and adjust my PPM, I didn't realize until I was finishing watering 😬 sooo... one of the feedings was around 1600PPM 🤦♀️ which may not sound too terrible to some people, but it had me worried. For now, everyone seems ok. Between the flush and over feeding, I decided to hold off on a major defoliating since I can already see leaves that will HAVE to be removed, and don't want to end up losing too many.
Week 1/15-1/21
The ladies seem to be taking off at this point. You can see in the pictures my damage is showing through 😅 whether it was draining all the nutrients or my over feeding... there's a lot of leaves that will have to come off. Again, I skipped any major defoliating and I'm taking leaves off showing only signs of damage since it will inevitably turn into a sizeable defoliation. Judging by my tip burn they were hit hard by that over dose of nutrients 🙄
Surprisingly the smallest plant, #2, definitely wants to finish first. She's rapidly pulling ahead of the other two.
Week 1/22-1/28
The ladies are moving along. #2 has become a real crusty ugly duckling thanks to me 🤦♀️ She was hit the hardest by my mistakes but is still in the lead to finish out first, but, a bit on the ugly side. Her leaves are burnt the worst out of all of them and she has the least to begin with. 1 & 3 also show tip burn w/curling but not as bad and they have a lot more leaves they can afford to lose.
I'm very surprised I've made it this far without any full on fatalities.
Week 1/29-2/4
Getting close and smelling absolutely amazing! They seem as happy as they possibly can be, burnt crusty tips and all. I definitely wouldn't call this grow any kind of great success, but I also didn't totally fail! This has been a huge learning experience for me both good and bad.
Plant 2 is still far in the lead
Plants 1 & 3 seem to be on the same page. Taking their time yet moving at the same pace
Week 2/5-2/11
I finally caught up on my diary!
Plant 1 is putting on quite a display of colors, wish she would but that energy into plumping up.
Still waiting for 2 of the ladies to bulk up, they're taking their time, especially Plant 3.
Plant 2 AKA " Crusty" will be coming down soon. Her last feeding was watered down to about 500 after I fed the other two, and the next few will just be PHed water. I know I shouldn't make fun, I'm the reason she looks like that 😅
Week 2/12-2/18
Getting close! My super poor looking Plant 2 is coming down soon, that one is getting only PHed water. Kinda thought it would be down already, but wanted a little longer for the trichromes 😁
1&3 should also be soon, but they're still obviously bulking up so they'll continue their nutrients for now
Week 2/19-2/25
This week 1 & 3 are plumping up nicely with dense buds.
Plant 2 will be coming down on Sunday when I have the time. I'm more excited about the other two on looks alone, Plant 2 is the smallest and has big airy buds in comparison to the others
First off, I have to say this strain was very resilient considering what I put it through 😅 I did make a few mistakes this being my first grow and Cream Cookies took my abuse like a champ!
On another note, if I only purchased 1 seed and ended up with only this plant, I don't know how quick I would be to reorder or recommend. Despite all 3 plants came from the same pack of seeds, they all look incredibly different. This one, Plant 2, didn't veg out as much as the others, didn't develop as many branches or even leaves. In comparison this plant was sparse. I was also looking very forward to big, dense buds. I got big, but these are VERY airy buds. Basically this one plant was the opposite of my expectations. My final slight disappointment with this one is lack of trichromes. My other 2 plants are so frosty and packed, this one again is sparse in that department.
I did chop down as a solid plant to slow the dry time a little, so the wet weight isn't very accurate 😬
Week 3/5-3/11
Last two are finishing up. They're being flushed this week for harvest and smell amazing. Each of these three plants smelled totally different 😱
I never thought I would get all the way through this, somehow I did 😅 since this was my first experience growing autoflowers I'm still on the fence. I did enjoy this grow and highly recommend attempting the strain if it's one you're interested in.
So exciting and sad to finish up.... I did love growing these and will definitely do autoflower again. These were pretty easy going plants lucky for me 😅
