1/29: Dropped in a 74° tap water at 6.3 pH at 7:50 p.m. Stored in dark room at 74 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit.
1/30: placed on damp paper towel and folded once. Stored in somewhat sealed storage container in same warm dark room 9:45 a.m. occasionally misting with water at 6.4 pH.
1/31: 3:30pm small tap roots observed.
2/1: Larger tap roots observed.
- Fluffed soil and filled fabric pots while occasionally misting soil to provide moisture. Poked a hole down to the first knuckle of my pinky and dropped in seeds tap Root down, covering lightly with soil and misted. Plastic cup placed over top to increase humidity.
- Tent is 72° f with humidity around 23%. Humidifier will bring up humidity shortly. Current ambient humidity is 18%. Light set approximately 16in above soil at 50% intensity.
2/2: .5in sprout observed 9pm. Misting every few hours. Temp has been around 74F and 60% humid. Just added a space heater to the tent and turned up the humidifier.
2/5: Keeping temp around 80* and 40% humid. Seed stuck on the first leaves so I gently removed it. Looked like it was starting to stretch. Turned the light up to 75%. Still covering with a cup to help humidity.
2/7: Third set of leaves observed in the morning. Looking really good. Removed cups for the night and watered directly out of the bottle. Roots seem to be good enough to handle it. The light at 75% is good enough to keep the tent warm at 80*. No longer using the space heater.
I haven't had the exhaust fan on yet because it's loud and I don't want it to suck out the precious heat and humidity. The humidifier and fan are keeping the air moving good in there.
2/13: Stem still seems stretched from the shell being stuck on the leaves.
2/16: Decent heat stress observed an afternoon. Temperature was 80° and the light has been at 100%. Move the light to 26 in and open more events in the tent and window in the room to let in cold air overnight. Time to temperature got down to 62°.
2/18: Heat stress is improving. Keeping her well watered.
2/21: heat stress is starting to show again and noticed less leaves on the fan side. Turn the light down to 75% and going to start rotating to even out when exposure. Not tall enough for LST yet. My top if she starts to look healthy again.
2/25: started LST. Leaves still slightly stressed looking.
