This is probably one of the best strains for first time indoor growing. Easy to grow, not too big (around 50-55 cm soil to top) but still a decent high quality harvest. Will definetly do a 2nd and 3rd grow with this strain.

Lights
Great lamp, easy to install and adjust height. Easy to use (on/off and a brightness knob). The lamp generates some warmth, but just enough to keep the tent at a decent temperature (it never went over 25°C in the tent). My first grow developed really well with this light. Only small remark is about the timer that came with it: I noticed a few times the light would be out at moments when it should be on. The clock on the timer is a circle divided in blocks you have to push to set your chosen timing. I'm guessing some blocks might have a small space between them, making the timer think it should be off. Overall I guess the light goes out for a few minutes a few times a day, but that did not affect the (autoflower) plant. Next time I might use a digital timer or a different analogue one.
Tents
Very happy with the small Mars Hydro tent. Easy to set up, high quality zipper, reflective material, holes to manage cables and airflow. Also came with a SOG net but haven't used that yet. I bought the tent as a package with the light and carbon filter combined, all were easy to install, no screws needed. The tent is small, but more than big enough for growing one autoflower. Very easy to access, with an extra floor cover for easy cleanup afterwards. I also used this tent for drying and it did the trick. Overall very happy I chose to invest a decent tent/lamp/filter that's both easy to use and seems to deliver a well developed plant with little hustle. It also did a great job of keeping the scent in for about 80% of the ride. The last 2 weeks of flowering you could definetly smell a cannabis smell in the room and sometimes outside. But the tent itself helps a lot in keeping scent mostly out, and to keep light from the lamp inside and outside sunlight out (while drying).

I harvested halfway week 12. That's 76 days after putting the seed in a wet paper towel and 74 days after putting the seedling in soil. I cut away all leaves and branches, except for a few parts to hang them easier. That generated around 149 grams wet weight. Put all of them spread over 3 lines in the Mars Hydro tent with a fan in low setting aimed at the floor, and the carbon filter on the top, hoping this would generate some airflow, without blowing at the branches directly. I let them dry for 9 days and then removed some more parts of the branch that have no use. I kept the smaller sugar leaves since they had quite some trichomes on them as well. While harvesting, wearing plastic gloves helped me from getting my hands too sticky, smelly and dirty. I know because I forgot to do the same when going from drying to curing 😰 Overall I am very happy with the entire grow. It was easy, entertaining, and I learned a lot with a very easy plant in a decent but not too refined/high end setup. Main lessons learned for a next plant: -Fill the pot almost to the top -start LST sooner, getting tops at the same heigth/better light coverage -Less water, only when the soil is dry -Humidity evolves as the plant grows. -It will take a bit longer than the 9-10w advertised, but not a lot. One thing I noticed was a perception difference in weight Vs. volume. Of course I knew my 149 grams wet would end up somewhere around 30 grams dry. Eventually ending with 36 grams is the best possible outcome I would have hoped for. But putting it all on the scale, on sight, I would've expected this volume to be around 50 grams. The 9th and 10th picture of the 5 grams and 2.8 grams on the scale illustrates this. On sight I would guess this would be 8 and 4-5 grams but it's way less in reality. I'm not complaining, I guess drying, trimming, seed kind and other stuff affects the density. And maybe I should not compare my home grown plant to what I get from experienced growers. But it was something I wanted to point out for others who are just starting to grow. Now I will start the curing process. Hoping to file a good smoke report in a few weeks. I will probably grow a second plant, also with a Quick One seed, so very curious to see if it will perform similar. Thank you for reading my first journal. It was a lot of fun growing and writing about it. Growdiaries is a great place to document my growing project and it'll come to use later when comparing to newer grows. Also a big shoutout to everyone that has liked my posts and commented. Same for the people who were quick with advice when I needed it. I enjoyed sharing this and I hope this journal may be of use to others who are doing the same thing!
Smoke review
Using Quick One as a first time grow was an excellent choice. It grew and developed perfectly with no trouble. The 149 grams (wet) were more than I expected. I ended up with 36 grams dry, and will now start curing. Ordering, sprouting, growing, flowering and harvesting went without any trouble. The only obstacle I faced were yellow leaves popping up, but that was an overwatering issue. The plant recovered and I don't thing this affected the yield much. I guess the yield could be more if I used fertilizers, better LST or SOG and maybe some defoliation to give all buds more light. But for a first time grow project it's a very forgiving and easy to manage plant that delivers a decent stash for its size and the work you put in it. I will plant another Quick One from RSQ soon, so curious to see if things will be similar then. After 14 days of curing it smelled really nice and they were perfect to grind and smoke. Will continue curing them while storing in glass mason jars, but it's already perfectly smokable. --- Smoke report: After drying I cured it for 2 weeks. Humidity was mostly around 45% so I assume it's dry and developed enough to smoke (I'm still curing, but also already smoking it.) The smoke taste and effect are well beyond my expectations. This is quality weed like I would expect from a professional place like a coffeeshop or a social club. It's not a hard hitting strain with super high THC values that would knock you out, I also wasn't aiming for that, but it still gives you a very nice smooth high. The high is definetly more mind that body focused. I feel relaxed and comfortable. It's difficult to describe the actual taste, but here's an attempt: It does have it's own specific taste, but not very outspoken. Not in a bad way, it's very tasty and what you would expect from decent weed, but just no very specific sour, sweet or other tones. I was a bit afraid it might feel harsh after only 2 weeks of curing (smoking some early popcorn buds right after drying were pretty harsh), but it's perfect not as it is. As for the negative effect: I marked dry mouth, but that's always when smoking. No irritation on the eyes, I had a good night sleep and I did not feel too drowzy the morning after. Obviously a bit, but not as heavy as some other strains. Overall a very nice, smooth experience, both in smoking as the high. A great balance with being not too heavy or light in experience.

Should I worry about the length of the plant at this time? I'm now halfway week 5 and it's about 25cm, but it's hard to believe this will still double in size in the next 2 weeks, assuming lenght growth will stop or slow once flowering starts.

First of all, if you're expecting to get a harvest in a month, you're going to be disappointed ... the plant would need to be in full flower right now to expect a harvest inside of four weeks. Second, don't believe the hype generated by seed sellers as to the time it takes to get a harvest - they want to sell seeds and advertising a fast harvest only serves that purpose.... most will tell you that their estimates are the BEST you can expect but that generally you'll need to be growing quite a bit longer. That being said, you've got a good looking plant here. I'm surprised she's not drinking more but she doesn't look like that's an issue... Once she goes into flower, she will start to stretch and she'll get a lot taller. Height is not an issue - I've grown plants that only got to be 21" and others that got close to 5-feet.. different strains, different conditions - it all makes a difference but genetics plays the biggest part here. Your lights seem to be much too far away - bring them down... no further away than 24" ... when she goes into flower, you're going to want them to sit about 18" above the canopy.... Good luck...

@@GrowWithFlow, Thanks, I'm really curious how much yield I'll get out of this plant. Planning to harvest later this week and hopefully smoke it in a few weeks after drying and curing.

Hi when you say decent yeald next month do you mean your planning to flower ot next month ie 4 more weeks on veg ? As your Flowering time is probably 10 weeks and then 2 weeks stretch as well so your not going to have anything to yead intill Ruffly end April beginning on may buy if you want big yealds the veg time is a big factor on the yeald same as the environment but happy growing and good luck

@Katsuny, you do know that the Flowering time is just the Flowering time alone and not start to finish yes? If they been Flowering about 2 weeks then you will have about 7/8 weeks left to go yet they don't mean 10weeks from seeds to harvest happy growing

@Katsuny, you do know that the Flowering time is just the weeks to flower not that the whole thing is 10 weeks total yes ? 10weeks alone so around 8/9weeks to go the veg time has been quite quick but the grow time is always 8/12 weeks just to flower them and harvest is not brilliant for autos but goof luck

@Growladyeastmidlands,Thanks! Honestly I don't have a solid planning here. The seeds are advertised as 6 weeks to flowering and 9-10 weeks to harvest. I'm now near the end of week 6 and flowering has started. I'm keeping in mind this might take more then advertised, but since it's an autoflower I don't expect it to last it too much longer.

I'm super excited to see how my quick ones turn out after seeing your diary, great job mate! Saw you mentioned issues with the timer, I had similar problems with my mechanical timer. Bought a four pack of Tapo WiFi plugs from Amazon, smart plugs are well worth the investment for us indoor growers 😉 Good luck with your next grows!

@NoobBeNoobin, Yeah, it's definetly an issue, but I suspect it's never more than a few minutes and it hasn't affected the growth much. But if I ever do a non-autoflower I will try a different timer to avoid confusing the plant.
