Germination
I decided to try growing some peppers in my small tent but had terrible luck germinating the seeds. As only 1 of 4 ended up sprouting, I thought I'd pop a cannabis bean to keep that plant from getting too lonely - I'm thoughtful that way 😃 Going with Gorilla Cake auto from the Niagara Seed Bank and growing her in a 3-gallon fabric pot. Not looking for a big plant here and the plan is to top her as compact as I can. I'm growing her in Fox Farms Ocean Forest potting soil, so she'll only be getting water until she goes into flower. I put the seed directly into a peat pellet and into a seedling tray with tap water and sat that on a heat mat. Seed starting sprouting within a few days, but the wrong way around. I had to extract everything from the pete pellet, trimmed off some of the root and turned things right way round. She sprouted the right way up within a couple of days. After a few more days in the seedling tray, I moved her directly into the 3- gallon pot. "Up to 1m in height. 85 days. This chunky indica dominant autoflower will impress you with her bulky stature, tight node spacing and large central cola. Pure gas flavor with some bakery inspired secondary flavors. Calming and euphoric overall." More news next week ✌️

The Gorilla Cake has taken to her new pot since being planted last week and is coming along nicely. Gave her a bit of water yesterday and turned up the intensity of the light a bit today. Not much maintenance required at this stage of the game 😃 Thanks for tuning in. More news next week ✌️

The Gorilla Cake is doing her thing. My planned pepper companions did not work out so she's got the tent to herself for now. Although the Ocean Forest soil is a little spendy, I do love how much maintenance it eliminates for the first few weeks. I watered her once this week - 2 litres of water - and that was the extent of the time spent in this garden 😃 She should be ready for some a topping or FIM in the next few days. More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

The Gorilla Cake is looking good. She really kept me hopping this week - I had to water her twice! I also topped her a few days ago. It's all been exhausting 🤣 More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

The Gorilla Cake is officially in flower now and she's looking nice. She's getting a little more demanding and I'm having to water her every other day. We're still cruising on the nutes provided by the Ocean Forest soil but I'll likely start adding some light flowering nutes to her feed in the coming days. I performed some LST today and got a little too heavy handed stretching out one of the branches. I neglected to "pinch and roll" before bending her over and she split at the stem. Duct tape to the rescue 😬 Hopefully, she'll recover ✌️ More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

The Gorilla Cake is looking fantastic! No issues at all following last week's training incident that saw a pretty significant splitting of the stem. I melted some candle wax over the break to help seal things up a bit and have the afflicted branch propped up and supported as well. She got her first feed this week. Giving her Remo nutes which she seems to love, and also gives me opportunity to use up the VeloKelp and Nature's Candy I have on hand as it doesn't really play well in my DWC setup. More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

The Gorilla Cake is doing great. Maintenance is still fairly minimal. I'm feeding her once/week and watering her every other day or so. Plenty of bud sites on this plant. I love the way she's shaping up 😍 More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

The Gorilla Cake is looking very good. Still giving her once weekly feedings and watering every couple of days. She's thriving. Loving this easy, trouble-free soil grow 💚 More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

The Gorilla Cake continues to grow really well. Leaf tips were looking a little burnt so I didn't give her any amendments this week, just water. Buds are starting to fatten and frost is starting to set in. More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

The Gorilla Cake is coming along quite nicely. Buds are getting fatter and becoming more fragrant - the sweet cherry notes of her Wedding Cake lineage being the most prominent. I gave her a good feed this week and she's now demanding near daily waterings. Two or three weeks to go. Looking forward to the finish. More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

The Gorilla Cake is looking really good. Things are fattening up and getting more dank. I ❤️ the cherry notes from her Wedding Cake side. I moved her into my vacant 3 x 3 to finish off as there is a bit more light she can take advantage of. Should only be a couple of more weeks til harvest me thinks. 😃 More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

Final days for the Gorilla Cake as she's starting to fade away. Buds are firm, frosty, and fragrant. Can't wait to taste this one. I think she's going to be delicious 🍒🍰😋 More news after the chop (most likely). Thanks for tuning in ✌️

Harvested the Gorilla Cake after about 95 days from dropping the seed. This was by far one of my easiest grows from beginning to end. Germinated the seed directly in a pete plug and transferred her directly to her final destination, a 3 gallon fabric pot. The Ocean Forest soil made life dead easy for the first several weeks as I only had to provide her with regular waterings. I started feeding her REMO nutes once a week 2 weeks into her flower cycle and followed a 'water-water-feed' schedule to the end. No issues at all with this grow - other than me splitting the stem while performing some careless LST, but she recovered like a champ. Buds were well formed and consistent throughout the plant with no larf to speak of; greatly due to the fact she was spread wide open and light was accessible throughout the plant. Very happy with this grow and how this strain performed
