Hello fellow growing friends,
this is my first time writing a report and just our second run growing at all, so we are just about to figure every thing out and happy about knowledge exchange!
What happend so far:
Germination at 16th January, wet cotton pads in zipper bag, all three Blueberry Muffins germinated super fast and already had a 1,5 cm root after 2 days, one seed of the Candy Dawg didn't made it.
At 18th January: transplanting into 9x9x10 pots. Substrate was 70% worm humus and 30% coco fibers.
Steady growing for the next few days without major differences, candy dawg stayed a bit behind from beginning.
29th january, we changed our old 150 watt lamp (very old lumeri model) to the new mars hydro ts 1000 and put the lamp on 75% (it was a huge difference too the old lamp!). One day after we changed the lamp, all plants had brown and dry leave tips, we thought it was maybe due to a light shock and we tuned it down to 25% at the 30th January.
The new small leaves looked good. I removed the two bottom leaves at each plant, they were really dry and brown and i wanted to prevent a possible infection.
Additionally sciarid amount were increasing.
At 8th February we transplanted them into 3 litre pots, with BioBizz light mix soil, due our grow shop did not had any perlite at that moment, cause we are actually growing with cocos, humus and perlite - just got the tip to use cat litter instead :D - but it was to late, so now we are usig this pre mix soil for this run.
At this point all plants exept of BBM#3 which looked good, had brown and dry, curling leave tips and quite a pale green. Also the roots did not look so good, they were already growing out of the pots a few days ago, but when I got the plants out of the pots, the roots looked really weak, probably due to the sciarid affection. I first thought it was maybe a fungi infection due we had major symptoms in our flower tent - i later figured out that it is probably a calcium deficiency. So at the 8th February all plants got fertilized for the first time. Additionally I applied nematodes and sprayed them with neemoil.
12th February: new leaves are looking good. Candy Dawg and #3 looking the best (both 11,5 cm), #1 is the weakest and smalles with 9.5cm and #2 looks okay (10cm). So it seems like it way really a nutrient deficiency and I am very positive that they will recover fast. I also think about tuning the light back to 50% the next days. I also just bended the BBM#3, too see some differences in growth, the other blueberrys are supposed to get topped in the next week or so.
The two plants in the middle are Durban Poisin cuttings, the one in the back is supposed to become our first mother plant and the one in the bottom is supposed to be going in the flower tent together with the blueberrys.
So thats all for now, trying to update next week!
