Hey guys,
After a hiatus of few years I decided to pick up my indoor growing hobby again. I grew some outdoor stuff these last years, but now it's time to take it back inside again. Before I only grew indoors under a HPS lighting system, but this will be my first run using an LED system. My past experiences with indoor growing are mainly from working with Amnesia Haze clones, with which I managed to get nice yields and good quality harvests for a couple of years straight. Let see if I didn't loose my touch under these different circumstances.
For this first run I decided to go with Sensi Seeds's new Sativa dominant strain Tangerine Sugar. It's apparently so that it's not on growdiaries.com yet. https://sensiseeds.com/en/feminized-seeds/sensi-seeds/tangerine-sugar-feminized
I also added one "Wedding Cheesecake" by White Label in the mix because I had 1 leftover seed from last summers outdoor grow and I really liked it. This Indica dominant strain will be done about a month earlier, but I don't really mind having a small batch of something different in there.
Germinated last Tuesday. 100% germination rate on all seeds 48H. Germinated with the paper towel method. After that they went into some seedling-soil I bought at the local farmers market. They are all doing fine and seem comfortable. I've not added any fertilizers like root stimulator yet. This first week I have just let them come up without adding anything to the water. The first few days I also covered them up with some plastic to keep the humidity up.
Everything seems to be working in order and doing what it should do.
See you next week!
Not much to report. They're doing their thing. Still no fertilizers. Just making sure temp and humidity is good. Putting a plastic cover over them keeping the humidity way up.
Repotted them to their final pot. The Tangerine Sugars are all in 26L pots. The Wedding Cheesecake got an 18L. It's a bit full in there, but I am thinking about taking the Wedding Cheesecake outdoors when the spring starts to give the Sativa ladies some extra space.
No fertilizer added still. Next week I will start with that. They are still a bit on the young side.
Some leaves are a bit deformed, but I'm sure they will sort themselves out. Doesn't mean anything really.
See you next week kids! Then I will reveal the fertilizers I willl be working with!
They are doing fine. One of the Tangerine Sugar had a bit of a rough start. Went a bit slower than the rest and had a malformed leaf. It seems to be improving and catching up with the rest though.
My grow fertilizer will be some Grow A&B from Bio Technology. With that I will be adding some Aptus Regulator, because I had really great experiences of improvement with that one in the past.
See you next week!
I took out Wedding Cheesecake and gave it a nice spot in my garden outside. This gives the Tangerine Sugar girls a bit more space. I lollipopped the bottom 2 nodes of the plants.
They go really fast and plant 3 is slowely catching up with the other 2. Can't wait to start flowering.
It's time to flip 'em. I'm slowly turning the light off an hour earlier each day so at the end of the week they'll be running at a 12/12 cycle.
#3 is clearly more of a indica dominant pheno. As it is much more bushy. The main branch split off in 2, so it apparently topped itself. It's a bit smaller than the other 2, but it's doing good nonetheless.
Can't wait to start seeing some pistils. See you next week!
12/12 cycle started for a few days now. Everything still doing good. Plant #1 had a bit of yellow tips so I'm keeping the fertilizer relatively low. They are branching out nicely and the space is filling up. They also start to smell really sweet.
Flowers are starting to form. Upping the ppm in the water a bit, and feeding her a bit more often. Every 2 days instead of 3/4. She definitely needs it. They're growing fast. The smell is also getting more pungent. They are gonna be beauties.
Flowers! Lots of flowers starting to form. This plant is a dream to grow. So easy. They're having a great time by the looks of it. Girl #3 totally recovered after a rough start. Upping the fertilizer a bit, cause the girls are getting more and more thirsty. The room is filling up with a nice odour. We're back baby!
They are definitely doing good. Maybe gave them a bit too little water and I saw them getting a bit droopie. So I am going to keep a better eye on that. But it's not a disaster. Also keeps the roots from getting too lazy.
I can see a lot of flower heads forming. Awesome plant. So far no regrets of picking this strain even though I got some lovely genetics waiting for the next run.
Smell is really invigorating. I can already start to smell the Tangieness...
Nothing new to report really, other than that they are thriving. The heads are getting bigger and bigger and the branches are filling up with flowers. I'm going to keep the fertilizer steady at this level for this week and see them grow each day. Really a lovely process to watch this plant grow.
Sorry for the late update. Had a busy week. Still... didn't forget to take care of the girls.
Slowly upping the dosage of the Bio-Tabs Bio PK and the buds are getting frostier by the day.
Can't wait to put some of them in the Squasher!
The smell is also getting stronger. Really Tangie and with girl#3 you can really smell the skunk sativa pheno lineage.
Getting closer to the end and it's showing. Upping the BioPK still a little bit. I think they'll be ready in a day or 10. A couple more rounds and I'll start flushing. Even though everybody keeps telling me flushing has been scientifically debunked, I dont really feel comfortable not doing it. Any comments on that from you guys?
Sorry it took so long for an update. I got married in the meantime and went on a honeymoon. Before I went though I took the plants down and had a friend take care of the drying and curing.
It looks like I got 2 pheno's. One is has more red hairs and is a bit more skunky and peppery. The other has bit more sativa like bud forming and smells a bitt gassy in addition to the tangieness.
The yield is also definitely not disappointing.
Plant 1: 76gr
Plant 2: 68gr
Plant 3: 65gr
Total:209gr
I am happy with that. Especially since it's my first LED grow.
